  1. Does anyone know if its safe to drink NyQuil? I drank DayQuil and got an upset stomache but am not sure if it was because of the medicine or just another symptom.
  2. I have to disagree with you. Most of the posts I read on here were positive feedback and helped me actually decide to go through with the surgery of course those scary stories made me a little nervous but I just put myself in gods hands and just thought of what was the best for me. Glad everything went well for you and you could share your story.
  3. Help I'm almost 3 months post op and am eating regular foods now. I can eat anything except for fried foods. It's so hard to stop eating sometimes I feel like I never had surgery:( Im down 33lbs but feel like I could have done much better by now.

    A little gross lol

Yes I'm on the Mirena and was going on 2 years with out a period. Since my surgery April 25th I've had a reg period every month and spotting in between. The doctor says its normal for the first year because of the rapid weight loss our hormones will be thrown off. Hate it!!!

    8 days post op, trouble

Try sucking on Popsicles and just sip all day. Your protein shakes count as liquid so don't forget that. Everyday will get easier
  6. I'm 6 weeks out and am at a stall. I'm thinking about doing the liquid diet again for a week. Had anyone else done this and lost more weight?

    Is Diet Snapple Decaf?

They gave me diet snapple while I was in the hospital with chicken broth. They brought me one for breakfast lunch and dinner. Of course I was only able to drink half a bottle in 2 days. I tryed to tell the nurses to stop bringing them and they said your ins pays for it so stock up and take them home. So Im assuming its fine to drink. I love diet lemon.

    females.

I loved the Mirena because my periods stopped but after 5 weeks post op I got my period after going almost 3 years without Hate it. Was starting to think it fell out until I read this.
  9. I was the same way but at four weeks I was saying in one of my posts that I started on soft foods and was feeling guilty because I thought for sure I wouldn't loose but low and behold I stepped on the scale and lost like 5 lbs in one week. I guess our body's just need to take a break for a min then remembers what it's supposed to do. Don't get discouraged just stick with protein first and some type of excercise and staying within the calorie range and you will be good.
  10. I'm going on week 5 I was at a stall for about 2 weeks. I started eating soft foods sticking mainly to protein like ground turkey. Funny thing is even though mentally I feel like Im eating a lot the scale finally went down almost 5 lbs in a week. Did this happen to anyone else?

    Protein shakes

You should get the ready made shakes by EAS that are carb control. I had bought the lean shakes from GNC and liked them before my surgery but now they make me sick. Your stomachs not going to be able to handle anything with sugar and it will feel like a ton of bricks when you swallow. The EAS shakes are only 100-110 calories each and taste pretty good they have like 3 carbs you can buy a pack of 4 at Walmart, target for less than 5.00. Only 17 g of protein but better than nothing. I also recommend the flavorless protein powder from GNC you can mix it in your broth and drinks.
  12. I'm 4 weeks post op and need ideas for snacks to take to work. For some reason ever since I came back to work its a desk job my stomach is growling like crazy and I feel like I'm so hungry. How did you guys feel at 4 weeks and What did you snack on?
  13. Good job. Can you give us some advice. I'm. 4 weeks and have only lost 20 lbs. I feel like Im doing something wrong
  14. I've been on synthroid for 6 years and just had the sleeve April 25th. I've lost 25 lbs and am stil loosing as normal before surgery I asked the doctor and he said as long as your thyroid levels are normal which is what synthroid helps to do and I follow my diet and exercise that's not even an issue. So take your meds you will do more harm to your body by not taking your meds. It's really not bad. Do research on what happens if you leave it untreated and you'll change your mind.
  15. That's so funny Man vs Food is what I watched my first post op week. I'm 4 weeks post op and I also loved cooking I was content watching my family enjoy their food.
  16. Ate all the stuff I enjoy because its going to be a long time before I can eat it again. J/K I did a lot of research on the procedure and before and after videos on YouTube also hearing everyone's experience here on this forum helped. Don't worry it's scary at first when you get to the hospital and they start putting the IV in. You'll wonder if you are doing the right thing. Before you know it you'll be out and when you wake up your tummy will be sore like you did a thousand crunches. For me I was grumpy because my stomach was crowling. Once you start pushing the button for the Morfin all you will want to do is sleep. My best advice is to try to stay in the hospital as long as you can to rest up and get past the first few days of liquid diet.
  17. Surgery on 4/25 and am down 20lbs. I have a hard time figuring out when I'm full.
  18. I went to the doctor and he said before surgery I tested negative but after they did the biopsy on stomach and came out positive. I was wondering if anyone can tell me their experience with this and how long it lasted.

    Loss of enegry

I told the doctor the same thing he said not to worry and to take it slow. He also reminded me I just had major surgery. I'm almost 3 weeks post op. The problem I've been having is when I get up or bend over and stand up straight I get dizzy.
  20. Okay so it's day 18 post op and I'm drinking a shake for breakfast still, I'm now able to drink my shakes and water like nothing. Is this normal at this stage? I hear others say they can barely drink anything. I've also eaten smashed pinto beans half a small cup and a small cup of mashed potatoes from el pollo loco. I've even been able to nibble part of a chicken leg. I'm worried because It went down fine and I didn't have any problems. Should I be worried?
  21. Tv22120

    I am worried

I'm 16 days post op and things do get better when you see the weight coming off. Try having some hope made broth beef or chicken it really makes a difference. Sugarfree pudding is good. All you are feeling is head hunger and you have to learn to know the difference. I'm not going to lie if there is something I really like I've tasted chewed it and spit it out. Sounds gross but you gotta do what you have to do. Goodluck
  22. Did they give you a patch to put behind your ear for the nausea? I think you went home to early just gets lots of rest it will pass.
