  1. I'm going with you being pre-op as you are posting in pre-op questions. If so eating chicken should not derail you but try to follow your plan. If you were 7 days post-op you probably could not eat 6 oz of grilled chicken at one sitting.
  2. Mine is fit and trim. Years ago I did a Dr supervised low cal liquid diet and lost 70 lbs which was gained back and more. We met weekly for lab work, weigh ins and a dietician group meeting. The dietician was young but obese and kept saying it was "baby weight" from having kids. Her youngest was 5 yrs old. As we were preparing to transition back to food she would say things like "you should keep cheese pizzas in your freezer for nutritional snacks". Nothing like that was in our prepared guidelines they gave us. So it was a bit off-putting. If yours knows her stuff that is different of course and maybe she just needs a VSG to help her out

    Time off

I went back to work 2 weeks after surgery, desk job in a medical building. Run around quite a bit but curtailed that part a bit the 1st week back. Could have been back at 10 days but glad I took the 2 weeks as I started back to 50-60 hr weeks right away.
  8. Not really craving anything but SO HAPPY I can drink water again. It took 3 1/2 months for me to drink it normally without having it feel like a rock hitting my stomach. Glad I kept trying a few sips each day.
  9. Everyone has different plans with their Drs/Nuts. At 2 weeks out I was still at 300-400 cals/day and then 500-600 average until my 6 wk follow up.

    5 1/2 weeks Post-Op update and Struggles

Empty carbs, fast food and sweets could do me in if I started eating them I'm afraid. I still do Protein first and find it fills my sleeve so I don't get in much else. I haven't tried all of these but have tried the sweet italian and spicy jalalpeno and liked both. http://www.alfrescoa...chicken-sausage I have a Quest bar if I want a treat of something sweet plus gives me 20g of protein. Some find this is a slider food for them. Good luck on your journey!

    Protein drink suggestions?

I swear my Premier Protein shakes must have been imposters! I bought a 4 pack a few months back and 3 are sitting in my fridge. I think I'm the only one that doesn't like them Unjury vanilla and chocolate are the only ones I actually like. Sometimes I add 1 T of PB2 to my shake.

    Manwich Meatballs

Thanks! Bought the ingredients but haven't made them yet.
  17. Lost 10 lbs. Mine was 2 weeks. 800 cal using prepackaged protein supplements of drinks, bars and meals kind of like nutrisystem stuff. Gained it back overnight during the surgery.

    Oh my freaking God!

    How exciting! Great job!!
  19. There are so many foods that could be my downfall!! I've not been tempted YET to have them but I'm sure at some point I will. Pizza, pasta, bread, bagels, mexican, gooey casseroles, etc... Pretty much all comfort foods though I also did some damage with candy, chips, sweets, etc.. in the past. I'm around this all the time now at work but really have had no desire to eat any of it YET I know I can eat small amounts of some of these foods and prepare them in a healthier way but just haven't done it yet since I'm still doing the protein 1st thing and don't have room when I'm done.
  20. You say he loves you so much and would do anything for you but it doesn't seem like he's doing much by not contributing to your household expenses or your new way of life. Plus if you don't feel you love him anymore it's probably time to cut your losses and move on. Life is too short to be unhappy or be around those who are not a positive influence on your life.
  21. WOW! Congrats! Please post some before & after pics when you have time.

    Health Improvements?

I went from 9 or 10 pills daily plus 1 shot of insulin pre-sleeve to 2 1/2 pills post sleeve. Meds were for high bp, diabetes and who knows what else;) Hope to be off the last couple sooner than later!
