  1. You sure have been through alot in your 2 yr post-op! You're very lucky you didn't have any co-morbidities at your start weight. I'm guessing without the weight loss they would have shown up soon. Gall bladder issues are common after any drastic drop in weight. Both I and a neighbor had ours out after doing a "slim-fast" diet together about 15 yrs ago after losing 50-70 lbs in a fairly short time. I had a hernia which I knew nothing about but it was repaired during the sleeve surgery. I hope you have smooth sailing from here on out. You look great in your before/after pics by the way!!
  2. I've only had the sleeve but have yo-yo dieted for approx 30 years. Losing and regaining 50-70 lbs several times. ugh So I can't compare to what you're going through. Do you track your food? What does the NUT say about your numbers and percents of carb/protein etc...?

    Help

What exactly are you eating? Protein 1st all the time? I don't have room for anything after I eat my protein. Haven't tried bread yet. It's pretty much empty carb calories. Sugar free things can backfire a bit in some people making you crave sugar and carbs.

    5-minute homemade Hummus

    Just bookmarked your blog
  6. Please keep in mind you will not see the scale move every day. If you do, yay for you but it honestly doesn't happen that way for most. You may have weeks where the scale stays the same. Just want you to know what may be coming down the road. I'm just happy the scale is not moving up and my yo-yo dieting days are over

Good luck. Such a good move for you and your child.

    Really frustrated!

Sorry you're frustrated. It will work for you because 80-85% of your stomach is no longer there. It's not a race. You are now 48 lbs lighter and instead of yo-yoing up and down on other diets you are heading down. Try to think of the long term goal

    Manwich Meatballs

Did anyone happen to figure calories on these?
  10. Those first few days were pretty rough. My protein and liquid numbers were no where close to the amounts I was supposed to be getting in. I went back to work at 2 weeks and felt pretty normal. At my 2 week post-op they told me it's hard to reach those numbers at first. Good luck with your journey!
  11. Sounds normal. My incisions were tender but not painful at that point but the tummy felt swollen for a while.

    Are we allowed pills?

I was allowed to take the pills I needed to continue with after surgery. Had no problem. 1 was on the large size.

    Calorie confusion

I'm surprised after a 40+ lb pre surgery loss they are not happy with your 18 lb loss in 4 weeks post surgery. Sorry I'm not much help with advice on this.

This is why im doing it

Good for you! Sorry to hear some of the things your best friend says to you and others:(
  16. Day 3 & 4 my protein numbers sucked but my Dr said the 1st 2 weeks that happens alot. I concentrated on staying hydrated. Didn't hit those numbers either. Pretty much lived on chicken broth and SF popsicles. Everyone is different but I couldn't have progressed if I wanted to plus was not hungry at all. Heck, day 3 I was still sleeping a lot!
  17. Sorry about your reactions. I was given liquid anti-nausea meds before they wheeled me into surgery. Was not the best tasting and then given more anti-nausea in my IV after surgery. Did not have a problem with nausea at all. They did use a different pain med for me as the one they usually use as I had been given it before and had wierd hallucinations from it.

    7 months post op pics

You look so cute and so happy! Great job!
  19. It doesn't need to be shakes but you MUST have protein daily. Lots of it. What did your Dr give you for goals of how much you should have? My minimum is 60g daily but I shoot for 90g and often go over 100g. Did you get guidelines of what you should be eating?
  20. MIJourney

    :(

Probably not. You don't mention when your surgery was. I'm still guessing it's not alot. The SF popsicle is basically a liquid.
  21. Really get back to Protein. Carbs will make you crave more carbs. Vicious carb circle.
  22. Binging on crap or pureed foods probably will not make you feel full. Are you eating protein first? If so what kind and amount of protein are you eating now that you're on regular food? Kudos on working with a therapist!! That should help you.
  23. The best thing to do is get used to them. It won't be the last. I really don't pay attention to them now. I know the scale will move down again sooner or later
