My husband made these wonderfully spiced sausages. If you're sick of bland food, this adds some nice flavor without being too hot.
    Ingredients
    1 lb ground chicken
    1/4 c cilantro
    1 tsp chopped mint
1 tbsp fresh squeezed lime juice
1 tbsp Thai Red curry paste
    1 tbsp Asian fish sauce
    2 garlic cloves finely diced
    2 tsp minced ginger
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
    1/8 tsp black pepper
    Method
    1. Mix all ingredients together. It will be a bit sticky. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes for all flavors to meld.
    2. Heat a saucepan until hot, pour in a tablespoon of oil and spread it around.
    3. Using a cookie scoop or a tablespoon, put 1 oz sized dollops of the mixture about 2-3 inches apart. Smash them down into circles
    4. In 2-3 minutes when the bottoms are brown, carefully turn over and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
    5. You can either cook them all and freeze them in a ziplock baggie, or cook just what you need for meals.
    6. These are very soft and they were easy for us to eat.
2 patties contain 16 gms of Protein.

70 pounds lost with one more week until the 4-mo mark. I took the "current"pic yesterday, but put the wrong date on it...then scale dropped this morning (yay!)
Besides the obvious, I trip out on the difference in my forearms, and even how puffy my eyelid area was compared to today.

$60 for a sports bra, $100 for a pair of pants?!? Oh my... even if I were their version of an XL, they still wouldn't be getting the money that I don't have.

WELL, my first thought is to think of some guy snooki would look good with and rave about how he looks. But that's not too productive. And it's not really how I got to 30+ years with hubby. So, instead I would say "It would make me feel great if you said something nice like that about me!" Plus he may not have noticed as much he should because 1. He has an idealized picture of you in his mind that he sees most of the time no matter what you look like and 2. He sees you every day and the overall change, while dramatic, is less noticeable when he sees it every day.

This isn't a rant about vertical sleeve, but more a rant about Lululemon, the fitness clothing company. I live in So. Cal. where the Lululemon logo is as ubiquitous as Starbucks and luxury car emblems...so, I'm feeling pretty good about myself, and decided to go to their website and check out a pair of their workout pants...and you know what their largest size is??? A 12.....which they have the audacity to describe as XL. Even when I get to that size I am very tempted to give a big F U to them on principal.

I've never thought about their sizing...the only time I've ever been in their store is to purchase a gift card for my daughter's volleyball coach (who was a self-professed *lover* of all their things.)
I never bothered to look at their sizes because I couldn't get past their prices. Who charges that for *workout* wear? gah! Not my bag.

Wow...I've always been jealous of my friends who seem to live in Lululemon...that's disappointing!
Unfortunately, these companies can size things how they want. If being a size 12 is considered and XL, then I guess my goal is to be XL! Ha!
I do think that their whole brand is targeted at a luxury clientele that does a little yoga inbetween lunching with the ladies and redecorating the beach house...(snark alert, haha)...it kinda reminds me of Abercrombie only going up to a certain size because they only want their clothes on a certain body type. A shame, for sure...and stupid, if you ask me! It ignores a whole other consumer set and their money...which functions the same no matter what size you are.

getting therapy through weight loss is crucial if you are dealing with eating disorders (which a lot of us are)

I don't know if it will work but I plan to do it when I'm post-op.
I used to do oil-pulling before bed (basically you take a tbsp of sesame seed oil, sunflower oil or coconut oil into your mouth and swirl it around for 20 minutes). It helps to whiten your teeth and it really improved my morning breath. I haven't done it for a few weeks but I'm definitely going to do it after post-op if I get bad breath!

I am approved by insurance for a Tummy Tuck, Lipo and panniculectomy!!! I NEVER in a million years expected insurance would approve, even the nurse at the dr.'s office was surprised! And....it was approved the FIRST time!! I at least thought I would have to appeal. I think it helped that I got a referral from my pain management dr, due to the back/neck issues. Plus, I wrote about how many medical problems are resolved, since the weight loss and how important exercise is in keeping it off. Also put that I am limited in my exercise options, due to other problems, and riding the recumbant bike, is pretty much my only option now, but....the pannis sits on top of my thighs making THAT difficult. SOOOOO, the stars aligned and the request landed on the right person's desk and I am approved!! Also thought that would only approve panniculectomy, but....approval has codes for lipo AND TT!! WOOHOO!!! SOOO excited!!

He's right that low-carb is a great way to lose weight, but he's oh so wrong for trying to impose it on you. You need to internalize your own set of controls on what you eat and the way you eat it. If you have an external critic, then it will lead you to having one set of behaviors around him, and another when you are not with him. If you're not careful, you might end up eating things you shouldn't when you're not around him, just to exert some control over your life.
You need to get him to stop this now.
I'm a big fan of the Atkins diet, I was on the Atkins diet for 13 years. It's great that it worked for him, but he has some strange ideas about it. On Atkins, you only need the very low carb levels for the first few weeks. After that you can get around 50 grams of carbs per day and still lose weight just fine.
If you can I encourage you to follow a low-carb lifestyle. I really think it's great. But it has to be your decision. Your husband needs to understand that your journey will be different than yours and that by trying to be the food police, he will be undermining your efforts.
And when I say he needs to understand that, I'm saying that it's up to you to get him to understand. Hopefully in ways less drastic than suggested by some, but he does need to know that he needs to back off. And that doesn't just apply to saying things to you, but to even thinking that you are going to undermine yourself. Think about it like he's a carpenter and his hammer is low-carb and he thinks that can be used to solve any problem.
