You MADE her?

So... the forum is totally okay with @RealScoobyDoo and Imdeb being the same sockpuppet?
@@LipstickLady , thoughts?
I've got no thoughts. Not my board, not my monkies! @@Alex Brecher is the man in charge.

Carbonated Perrier might help
Paralyzed /Canadian/Mexican Sleeve
Perfect idea!

I'm 2+ years post op, and my absolute max is a cup of food, and that only depends on what it is. Most of the time it's 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup. I know someone who is over 3 years out who's max is 1/4 cup.
If those are considered "normal" portions, then okay.
You rang?
And you're wrong! Sometimes I can eat a full 1/2 cup!

I am asking - when can I have a normal intake of food?
Paralyzed /Canadian/Mexican Sleeve
At 1:35pm next Thursday.

Ugh. I hate when grown men act like whiny babies.
I hate it when whiny babies act like whiny babies!

I'd personally tell my husband to kiss my butt and then I'd help him pack. His insecurities shouldn't block your path to good health.
He might prefer heavier women, but I prefer smart confident men.

I wasn't allowed popcorn for 6 months because the staple line isn't fully healed until about that point and one shard of kernel wedged in could cause a leak on an abscess. No seeds or strawberries (seeds) or any other food with sharp or teeny particles was allowed for the same reason.
No amount of popcorn is worth that risk IMO. 3-5 weeks out? :faint:

The first step is being real with yourself on why you regained. Sounds like you are doing that.
Second step is making a plan. Sounds like you are doing that.
Third step is executing that plan. Sounds like you are solid there, too.
You can totally do this. One day at a time, one pound at a time. Find someone you trust to hold you accountable and who will kick your butt if it needs to be kicked. This journey is not for the weak, as you know.I am totally on your side!

I think a lot of people leave because they are tired of being bashed by the newbies when they are sincerely trying to help. Then, there were a few messages from staff that also sort of championed the attitude that the vets were the issue here so MANY of them left immediately after those posts were written.
I am too freaking stubborn, but I will admit, it does get old.fat_free reacted to this -
Well all, since I hit goal this week, things took a turn for the better.
I've been looking to go back to work now for a while. I won't go back into actively practicing dentistry, but want to go into practice management and consulting. My hope was to travel quite a bit, and I've had several options present themselves that I've been interviewing for.
After speaking with a long time colleague the other day, he made a few suggestions that I acted upon. The result? I've received four more calls to interview for positions I never would have considered before, each challenging in their own right and outside my comfort zone, but hey-isn't that what this new life is about?
There was a fifth call I received from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Now, if you know me, you'll know it has been my intention for YEARS to move to NC! This position is at the dental school overseeing the post-grad dental students who are completing their General Practice Residency. To have a hand in shaping the future of a profession that treated me so well is damned exciting!!! (And let's face it-- the possibility of reduced or free tuition to UNC for one or two of my kids is freaking appealing too if I was on staff!!!)
My point is this--- never say never. Never say die. Don't quit. Don't give up. Don't cry uncle or wave a white flag.
So many personal things are changing in my life and family life...kids leave to begin their own life, relationships change or go away. The only thing we have control over is ourselves and doing something to shape or destiny.
Don't forget you. Don't squander the opportunity. Don't take it for granted. Don't be with people who drain you. Lots of don'ts.
But how about this:::
DO love yourself.
DO live outside your comfort zone.
DO expect to succeed.
DO expect the people who surround you to bless and enhance your life.
DO know that anyone can change.
DO know that you are worth it!!!
It's pretty simple, really.
Look in the mirror and just say "I Do" to yourself.
And then as you make it happen, you'll grow like the tulips coming up in Spring.

I used to be able to delete that stuff but I can't any longer. It's frustrating.

I'd never heard of an instant pot before this thread, but am intrigued by it from looking at the Amazon link. Is it like a Crockpot with more bells and whistles? Congrats on scoring a deal on it.
It's a pressure cooker, too!

Why do people have the need to not be truthful about the surgery.
Why does my desire for privacy equate to me not being "truthful"? Do you tell people about your finances? Your sex life? Your marital spats? Do you tell people about a yeast infection or hemorrhoids?
Just curious...

I read each and every posts. I realize they were giving a pass to the medically necessary revision. My point was that some people were still coming across as very judgmental. Just not an attractive thing for this type of board.
That said, you can't read tone on the internet. There's a good possibility that what you are reading as judgment is not intended in that way at all. Instead of accusing, ask questions. It works for me.

And I'm actually two weeks out so yes, here is the paper he gave me. 20161129_231345.jpgFrom what I know . You should be on a liquid diet for 2 weeks, then on a pureed diet for 2 weeks b4 you start eating solids. You need to keep in mind that your stomach is not the same size as prior to your procedure . Its actually smaller now and you can cause damage to your self and stomach.

These two dietary recommendations he gave out are so different. This would totally boggle my mind.

I wrote this silly chorus line to the "I Scratch Myself" ......
Chorus:
I need something else,
When I eat too much I sneeze and scratch myself
oh no
I want to stop and tell,
Had enough of runny nose, scratching go to hell
oh wow
oh no, oh wow
oh no, not the cheese
this is just too much
stop it, pretty please !

I had surgery on nov 18th too!! And i have the same feeling too is a light pain, but it goes away in seconds, just try to chew and chew your food to make it easy for your little pouch and measure the quantity but mention that to your surgeon too my mom had the surgery a year ago and she said it was normal because your little stomach is sore and getting used to foods again!! Good luck

There are HUGE differences between lapband, bypass and VSG surgeries. Sleevers don't have pouches and I am willing to bet that the way one heals from each surgery is completely different. I am also willing to bet that the diets are different as well as far as how fast we progress through the stages.
I am totally NOT saying that you don't have good information to share, but even at 3.5 years out, I try really hard not to throw out advice to banders or bypass because I've not lived through either of those procedures.
I do agree that the OP should pass the information to his/her surgeon!!
Best to you with your new band! Exciting times, for sure.
