    When can we drink soda

So for those who have drank soda, how soon after surgery did you start drinking soda?

Ideas for what to tell people?

Ideas for what to tell people?

My response was that I just needed some time off. And if they ask about the weight loss I say I have been eating less and working out more...... all truths lol
  4. I agree with all these posts. It's important for us to eat slowly and pay attention to our body signals. As soon as I feel slight discomfort, I stop and wait. It's so frustrating because like previously mentioned, our eyes and brains are saying we could eat this and more before surgery. So we think we still can. In the beginning I would continue to order from the adult menu at restaurants or my own meal. Big mistake because I wanted to finish what was on my plate. Now I order from the child's menu or share with someone else. It has helped so much with the mind and eye tricks

    When can we drink soda

I'm 5 weeks post op and I just had a very small drink of lemon lime soda. I made sure I let it sit in the glass for about an hour to let some of the carbonation go flat. I would say I had 2 oz and I felt fine. I was someone who drank soda often but when I decided I wanted to get sleeved I cut back drastically. While I understand that I need to stay away from my bad eating habits, I'm human and I don't believe in denying myself my rare guilty pleasures. And if I could go the rest of my life without certain foods or drinks that were not healthy, I would never have got sleeved. That being said, pour yourself a very small glass of soda, enjoy it, then go on with your day.

Still feeling weak after 3 weeks

I am so happy to read that I am not the only one going through this. To be honest, I've been miserable! I feel like the odd man out because everyone around me is living their "normal" lives and I feel so abnormal... it gets me very depressed. I was always so happy and my outlook was always so optimistic so feeling as shown as I do is so unlike me. That also gets me down. I can't wait to feel like myself again. I'm only 2 1/2 weeks out and I understand is very soon after surgery but I miss my old self very much.

    Bizarre trend?

I have to admit, I am one of those who regrets it. I liked who I was and the life I had but I did it because it seemed like an easy way to lose weight. Now I realize I wasn't emotionally or mentally ready for the drastic changes that are now permanent.
