Confused. Can we or cant we..?
I was told no soda and no sugar. However, I think foods in moderation are alright. You can't avoid sugar altogether in certain things. I won't go back to soda, it's my weakness!

Pre-op diet causing ......
I have the opposite problem. I've only gone once since I started my liquids.

New Here!
You can lose the weight! My surgeon put me on a 1200 calorie diet. I used MyFitnessPal to help me out. Along with the low cals and exercise, I dropped 20 lbs! Seeing what is actually going into your body makes you realize all of the bad foods for you! Stay strong and positive, you can do it!!

All liquid diet makes my 1200 calories look like a buffet!
Thank you Tiffany! EAS Advantage makes some really good shakes. Just over 100 cals and zero or 1 gram of sugar! I got them at Target for $4.99 for a four pack, totally worth it! Glad I have this site for support

All liquid diet makes my 1200 calories look like a buffet!
Day 2 of my pre-op liquid diet. I'm already sick of Protein shakes, pudding and broth. This is miserable! I had a headache that lasted 16 hours and I'm cranky as hell! My poor daughter is a saint for putting up with me. She made me laugh last night as she was chasing me around with a potato chip, taunting me. She's lucky I love her! I must confess I thought about throwing in the towel, but then I realized, I won't allow food to win. This time I'm going to succeed. I will power through this, like anything else I've encountered in my life. I'm stronger than the food!

this may be a silly question.. but about tattoos before surgery. and NOT how they will look afterwards.
I doubt that would cause any issues. You'll probably have a CBC and CMP done. They'll mainly be paying attention to your RBC and WBC. You could always call your doctor and ask.

Where the May sleevers i just got my date!
I'm in St. Charles. Who's doing your surgery? I work for Mercy, so mine is Dr. Lisa Martin-Hawver.

Where the May sleevers i just got my date!

Really need advice..
I feel your pain! I start my 2 week liquid diet tomorrow (surgery May 6th) and Diet Dr. Pepper is next to me as we speak! I feel like I'm losing a loved one. I HATE that I can't drink again, but somehow I know it'll be worth it in the end. I say drink it all up while you can! Bottoms up

sleeve and weight watchers
I don't think any of those is good for the sleeve, from what I've been taught. I'm going to follow whatever I have to, according to my surgeon. I don't want to screw up this surgery

Pre op diet questions
Depends on the physician. I have a 2 week liquid diet. You'd think it'd be the same across the board!

sleeve and weight watchers
My surgeon said WW isn't appropriate for the sleeve. She has a patient 9 mos p/o and has stretched her stomach out by eating the 'free' foods.

Frustrated and disappointed
My surgery was supposed to be scheduled 90 days after my first visit. I started in Nov 2012. Thanks to my surgeon taking extra time after having her baby, my surgery is May 6th. Mine was doubled and I was very unhappy. However, it did give me extra time to prepare myself and my body for this journey. It'll fly by. Good luck!!

Upset when others eat bad
People at work call me the calorie police. I know it's none of my business, but when they complain about gaining weight... I too, just care about the people around me.

Post op and sweets
I heard the same thing Vix.

My last days of food...
Thank you!! I'll be here to make sure you don't have a weak moment!

My last days of food...
Thanks, Vix! Happy to know there are others that feel that way too. And I think you're right about the abusive part. It has held me back and controlled my life for so long, I won't know how to act when it's not a huge part of my life anymore. I almost cried at Target today when I was stocking up for my liquids. And my daughter had donuts, oatmeal cream pies and other crap in the cart. It's going to be a hard 2 weeks! I work for a doctor's office and we're always showered with cookies, cupcakes, ice cream, donuts, etc. And I have a drawer for food at my desk. I have to remember not to reach in and grab something! Guess I should clean that out come Monday, so there's no chance of me slipping. These 6 mos have flown by... hope the next 2 go fast too!

My last days of food...
In 2 days, I'll start my 2 week liquid diet. I've spent the last week eating and drinking whatever sounded good or could get my hands on. I'm fearful of never having some foods again, due to tolerance or texture. And I know I can't (or not supposed to) have soda ever again. My Diet Dr. Pepper will be missed dearly I'm going out with a bang tomorrow by having brunch and a cupcake to celebrate my birthday early! My surgery is May 6th and my birthday is on the 19th... Although I'm excited about my upcoming changes, I'm also scared. Food has been my crutch, my companion, my go-to and my love (before my daughter came along). Is it weird that I almost want to cry because it won't be there for me like before? It feels like I'm losing a loved one. Is this normal? Does anyone else feel or has felt this way?
-
So far it has been way too easy... Should I be scared?
It really is this easy! My surgery is in 3 weeks. I was approved within the same week my documents were presented. Right now, it still seems surreal, until I'm being wheeled into the OR. I can't wait for my surgery and good luck with your journey!

kicked off of a fair ride....
Went to our county fair a couple years ago and I couldn't get out of the Scrambler ride. I was so incredibly embarrassed as the guy running the ride had to help me get out. Everyone was staring as I exited, because I was the last one out. Needless to say, I didn't get on anything else and just watched my daughter have a good time.

What do you look forward to post-op?
I'm looking forward to - doing more things with my 10 yr old daughter, my knee/hip pain going away, not having anymore fat rolls that my belt cuts into, not shopping at Lane Bryant, getting out of breath while walking upstairs, riding the coasters at Six Flags, fitting thru a turnstyle and hopefully falling in love with a great guy! My next 35 years are going to be FANTASTIC!!
