  1. Glad that you both recognize it's either that you ate too fast or too much. I am 18 months out, have never thrown up and fortunately have a stop warning signal, my NOSE runs first starting with the sniffles, if I take one more nite, it runs like a faucet. You'll be like your old self soon, meaning your struggles will become habits and you won't see it as a struggle. We all have days that we can eat more than others, some days I'm starving. So a Protein drink in between helps. The more carbs I try to sneak in, the hungrier I become. If at all, avoid them. We are all humane and have cravings, I satisfy mine. Not in volume, it often doesn't take more than a bite or two. I now cook for others and take a bite. I love my sleeve. Love my time working out and the solitude and satisfaction that comes with it. The best to both of you.

Yes, it was def my fault. I should've paid more attention. 18 months and no vomit- awesome! I was actually just bragging to my husband last night that I never threw up. He said I jinxed myself. Haha.

  2. I had my first one yesterday. Had some wonderful turkey. It was BBQ and soooooo gooooood! And well between eating too fast and one bite too many I had my first vomit. I was surprised at how non violent it was compared to when I would vomit before my sleeve. But I was saddened at the loss of Protein.., I'm convinced that had I slowed, I could have had that much turkey though, it was only 3.5 oz, and I've had more than that of chicken in the last couple of days... But the chicken wasn't as good and I didn't scarf it up as quick.

Good luck to you and may this be our last time!

I think we learned our lesson! And I agree with you-- I thought the vomiting experience would've been so much worse, but I guess when you only eat a couple ounces, it's not so bad. I've decided to lay low today and have a couple Protein shakes-- and try some BBQ shrimp this evening -- SLOWLY! Lol

  3. I wanted something permanent. I didn't want to go to appointments all the time for readjusting. I didn't want to worry about slips or port flips. And I didn't want to have to get it removed in 3 yrs because of corrosion. I wanted a true lifestyle change that would be for life.

Also, I've known to many people who were unsussessful with the band- especially if they have a higher BMI.

Of course, this is a very personal desision, and you have to do what's best for you. But I love my sleeve. :)

  4. I had surgery June 11th. Lost 10lbs pre op and 11 lbs since surgery. For a week i weigh within a pound everyday and don't drop. I go up a couple ounces and down a ounces or two! I am still barely getting 400-500 calories a day and around 50 grams Protein. I walk every other day. I know i need to just chill but i want and need to see it on the scale!

I was sleeved on the same day, and I had this issue during week 2. My dr recommended 3 meals a day, but I chose to add a snack and upped my Water intake. That seemed to help bc I dropped a few more lbs. I also exercise everyday. And maybe increasing your protein to 60g would be good for you too.

And during that time, I literally had to put a sign on the door to the room my scale is in saying "leave the scale alone!" Lol

  5. Ugg! That must be so aggravating. I've told my friends and most of my coworkers. Everyone has been super supportive. But.. The first person I told was a friend /coworker of mine. I thought he'd be a good first person to tell bc he is quite obese as well and is usually a very positive/ upbeat person. I was shocked and a little crushed when he tried to talk me out of it and had negative comments. But, aside from that, others have been supportive and encouraging (but I have kept it off FB). I just had to remember, although I was sharing this experience, the choice was personal. I didn't share for discussion, I shared out of joy.

  6. Ok, I've been using unflavored Isopure in my shakes and added to food. But I've discovered unflavored does not equate to flavorless. Lol. It def has a strange flavor, but its not completely noticeable (to me) in stronger flavored foods (ex: Greek yogurt, chicken salad, or even my shakes). But I just added it to applesauce and tasted nothing but the Protein powder. It also taste strange with Beans. ... It's not completely disgusting, but it does change the taste of food.

Do y'all have any recommendations for an unflavored Protein Powder with a less noticeable taste??
