June 11th is my 2 year Surgiversary! Congrats & good luck!!

I find that I'm more worried now about how I look in a bathing suit or shorts than I was pre WLS. I'm all jiggly and stuff. Not that I was even close to NOT being jiggly before, but everything kinda sags. Arms, thighs, probably my butt too but I'm afraid to look.
Totally get ya!! I didn't care so much before, but now I stress about how I look. We are some strange creatures. Lol

Confession: I went swim suit shopping the other day. I cried in the dressing room.

Wow! Those are some big-ass pants!
Sometimes (as when looking at those pants) this whole transformation we've been through seems just a bit unreal.
Living the fantasy is really possible, eh?
When fantasy becomes reality....

I'm not a beer drinker.

Hi!
I hit my goal around 7 months. And then I hit my stretch goal between 7 months and a year. The first year was full of so many changes. It wasn't until after my 1st Surgeversary that my emotions began level & I began to feel more comfortable. There's still times that I'm flipping through photos and I don't recognize myself. I'm pretty much obsessed with mirrors because I'm still caught off guard by my reflection.
Don't compare yourself to others. Don't discount your story ... Because, well, it's YOUR STORY... Stalls included.
Just keep going. This is a process, a lifestyle- not a race.
Best of luck!

OMG. This made me laugh so hard.
Thank you.

U look very fit and probably have good percentage of muscle mass. How have you checked body fat%? Most methods I hink are not accurate and merely rely on your BMI to estimate body fat and probably overestimate in a muscular person.
I had my body fat tested as a way to gauge how I am doing and as a way to set goals. The scale was no longer helpful to me. I had gotten down to 126 lbs before I started weight lifting. I'm now 132 lbs.... But it was muscle gain, not fat. Still, it was frustrating for the scale to be moving up. I decided the scale was no longer an appropriate tool, and BMI was ever an approprIate tool. Lol. I figured body fat% was the way to go. I was a little nervous because I knew the caliper method would not work on us wls peeps because of our loose skin. My gym uses a machine with electrodes (looks like an EKG) and the impulses measure density. Thought it was pretty cool. And it seems more accurate than calipers.

If you do, be sure to let the nurse know you are using one.

Sounds like you've done great! Is there a recommended % body fat before Tummy Tuck or is it just your personal goal for yourself? I am in my early 50's and am now a healthy BMI, but I am 28-29% body fat (depending on what time of day it is, i.e., how hydrated I am). I don't have an "apron" of droopy skin, but there has been a little lip of droop (and puff) ever since I had twins at 40 and then a little bit more after I lost 55 lb after being sleeved in 2013. Even with a waist-slimming garment, I sometimes have to buy 12's to accommodate my waist (while everything else is calling for a 10).
I don't know of a recommendation for BF% before surgery. It's just my own personal goal... Part reward, and partly because I want the best results. Congrats on a healthy BMI ! I've never gotten there. LOL.

I had mine taken off at the dermatologist office ( I HAD MANY). They haven't returned post wt loss. As well as the dark skin (caused my metabolic disease as well) has vanished! My neck, my underarms, all creases that once had darkened skin & skin tags are "normal"

Vicks rub & Halls always helps me feel better. Plus plenty of fluids. It's not a cure, but it's nice when you can't breathe a little easier.

My first meal of my first day of solids was an egg. I guess I was a little too excited and ate too quickly, because it came right up. I sat on the floor of my bathroom crying. Not because it hurt or I was scared, but because " I just lost my protein!!!" LOL

Hey y'all! I had my 2 year check up with my surgeon (Dr T Borland in New Iberia, LA) and I feel like I'm doing well. Yay! Good weight loss & lots of energy!
I currently stand at 24.9% body fat, and I'm daily trying to improve that. Doc seemed pleased with my progress & suggested looking into a Tummy Tuck. I'd like to get under 20% body fat before my tummy tuck (hopefully some time next year).
I'm a little afraid to not get the results I want from the TT, but I know I'd be able to move around more easily after it's done. I'm tired of compression garments. Lol. I was hoping to be able to see muscle definition in my abdominals, but sadly I'm reading many articles that say it's unlikely.
It's a bit of a bummer, but I'm wanting plastics anyway (tummy tuck, old girls lifted, and new ones put in). So very exciting, but gotta save the $$$$.
Anyway, hope everyone is doing well!!
XOXO,
Misty

My doctor cleared me at 5 weeks to "hell, train for the Olympics if you want to" LOL. Call them up and ask!

I still have Protein supps (nearly 2 years post op) nearly daily. My goals have changed, but still, I enjoy my Protein Shakes.

That's not something that should affect your surgery, but it does need to be taken care of with medication. But yes, your doctor should have explained everything. I'd give his nurse a call.

"I'm starving." Two bites. "I'm stuffed."
People who don't know about my surgery probably think I'm insane.
Yep. All the time. Lol
I act as though I can eat a horse.

"I'm just freaking awesome! And why aren't you??"
Kidding.
I've been very open and honest about my surgery. Which is easier in some instances because I don't have to make up anything. The truth is always easier. But yes, some people are very harsh & even down right mean. It's a lot easier at 2 yrs out bc I look and feel amazing & I can just tell them to kiss it.
