  1. I am starting my 3rd week after the sleeve and I wanted to see if anyone had problems with cravings. Even though I am not hungry' date=' I crave to chew something. I struggled with purées and now I am on soft foods.[/quote']

    I eat a lot of s.f. popsicles and that helps me. Also imitation crab sticks are yummy for me. Good luck!

  2. I'd suggest not buying too much over Protein shakes' date=' broth, pudding, Jello and popsicles. You really do not know what you will love or hate post op. I spent 75 on different SF drink mixes like Crystal Light and can no longer tolerate the taste of aspartame. I bought all kinds of Soups and Protein powders and tuna and canned chicken and it's all sitting there because I couldn't swallow any of it.

    Buy baby spoons and cocktail forks, Gatorade if it's allowed, real fruit juice to mix with Water and go from there. You will be up and out soon enough and a good long walk around the grocery will be good for you.[/quote']

    I so agree! I waited and bought morw powders after 2 weeks & I regret it. I can hardly stand the smell of them. Just wait people.

  3. I bought the alpine punch thinking I'd like it but I just don't. I should've gotten the grape one. The bad part is I bought a whole case. So now I have to drink them. I'm going to try with crystal light and ice.

    Did u buy then online or at a store? Stores will generally let you swap them out. Worth a shot.

  4. See' date=' the pineapple banana orange was awful to me. So far my 'favorites' have been grape and apple melon. Alpine punch and the pineapple banana orange have been my least favorites.[/quote']

    The ones I thought I'd love are the ones I can't stand! I get the blue, grape and coconut & mix crystal light and crushed ice and sip all day. Great Protein and getting fluids in! Yes, they can have a "after film taste" but u get use to it.

  5. How long will these gas bubbles last I m uncomfortable and really not burping a lot but feel like bloated or pressure not sure how to discibe it. What can I do the get rid of them besides walking

    I am currently 4weeks out. I highly recommend getting some Gas-X strips and use a heating pad on the front of my tummy and also on my back. I used the heating pad the minute I got to my private room and also when at home for the first week. I never had any issues once i started to Gas X strips. Good luck!

  6. I know I have always been upbeat and not caring what others think. Thanks Sis for the pep talk. I'm coming back to my normal attitude. I was just not ready for the negativity today.

    You are welcome! Glad you are feelin better! It's crazy, I know. I will pray for you today at church. Hang tough!

    Now ... going to TRY to go back to sleep. Night sister. {{{Hugs}}}

  7. My dr never mentioned this; first I heard of it was on here! Thank god for the powder Room!

    I've been regular' date=' no changes from my normal schedule, but WOW, are my cramps awful! And I have NO energy. I am just wiped out. I guess that's normal too, I just didn't expect it. Thankfully my TOM is over the weekend so I can rest. Don't think I could work through this![/quote']

    I'm exactly what you are saying! No energy , awful cramps. Hope this is a one time issue!

  8. Everyone has that one person who has always been supportive no matter what you do or say. Well my one person decided to tell me they didn't see the benefit in my decision and it had bothered me just a bit. However' date=' I see the benefit and those who don't agree can just watch me from the sidelines and stay fat because I won't be in my future. Also I truly thank the friends that I have made on this site for support and understanding.[/quote']

    Wow! I had to read this 3 times to make sure it was from you! Come on SISTER. ... this is the beginning of the new you.

    I remember while I was in the hospital ,one of my nurses (very pretty face, who had the sleeve done 2 years ago) told me that I would have people "hatin'" or telling me that I shouldn't had done this. We are pretty & some friends don't want to lose their "fat" friend. They will try to discourage us and make us feel regretful.

    You are beautiful now and will be aftrewards. This is just another factor figured into this weight loss procedure. I hope this helps... not sure what else to say, but stay strong! {{{Hugs}}}

  9. That's a great idea!! Don't go with g2 Gatorade get the regular more complex carb in it. The Protein after I can say truly helps me post workout. This had been a learning process for me as well!! 78 pounds down since June 22 I feel great! Feel free to ask any other questions you may have!! Good luck.

    You have lost 78lbs since June 22nd 2013?!!!!? OMG!!!! Awesome!

  10. After several weeks of uncontrolled bingeing' date=' I got on the scale this morning and my weight was 204.8. My surgery is in 2 weeks. I am supposed to start my 1 week pre-op diet on July 25th, but I decided to do an extra week as a jump start. Knowing I don't "really" have to start for another week, this will be my test of my own commitment. Technically.... I can still cheat without being non-compliant with Dr's orders, but I really want to make this work for me. I was hoping to be 185 on my day of surgery, but clearly that's not going to happen. I'm 60 years old and 5' tall. My goal is 125.[/quote']

    U may lose up to 15 pounds if u do you stay strick on the pre op diet.drink lots of Water and stay away from startches. I couldn't believe I dropped 13lbs.!!! I only dropped 3lbs the 1st week , but stayed focus & dropped 10 the next week. So it can happen! Stay strong!

  11. Hello everyone' date='

    I am 4 days out o surgery and i am having really pad chest/stomach pain when swallowing fluids. Can anyone tell me about how long this will last? When i drink something it goes down and then feels like it is stopping midway down, then it makes a noise the air starts to come up. When the air is coming up that is where the pain is happening. I have to sit straight up and try to burp and if i burp the pain is gone but only until the next sip. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.[/quote']

    U maybe drinking to fast. You aren't using a straw are u? I almost just get my tounge wet with Water cuz I was sipping to fast & had the same problems. Best of luck!

  12. I was sleeved on June 11th. Has anyone else tried spaghetti this soon? I've been craving this for days

    I was the same way! What I did is I made my hubby & son spaghetti,& kept some of the sauce on the side. Then I used a can of Campbell's cheese Soup & a can od skim milk then pit a lil' of sauce in it! OMG! It's been the best meal for me yet so far! Cheesey with the sauce was awesome! I also added some unflavored Protein powder to it. I only could eat about a cup of it. Froze the rest & ate on that. Good luck.

  13. I had a horrible time with this and still do. Isopure is not the best stuff' date=' but it works. My doctor told me that to take in what I can and really focus on my liquid intake right now. They said plain milk would be good. I was on liquid for four weeks. Just started purée last night.[/quote']

    I'm 24 days out & struggle with Protein & fluids as well. I never really want to eat & when I do, I think I eat to fast. It's so discouraging right now. My tummy rules my world. I mostly am thirsty & just want to guzzle down Water but I can't. Sip, sip, sip is the hardest. I feel this has been way harder than the pre op diet & the recovery. Who woulda thought that?! Not me that's for sure!

  14. Hey ladies and gents...im 5 almost 6 weeks out. ..I have a question....none of my incisions hurt except the one they pulled the "trash stomach" out of. Is this just me? Its not always sore...but when I workout (still just walking on treadmill until im released) or if i clean the house our do a lityle more...I even notice I get a little puffy in my belly area too when its sore. Am I the only one? What do u do to help? Ive been icing it when it flares up.

    Iam the same way!!! I've never had any issues until the past 2 days! Also hating to eat, feeling sick when I eat or drink. So nice I am not alone

    I was sleeved june 24th.

  15. I've been curious how this compares to c-sections. I've had 3 and 2 of them were pretty easy but one of them was super painful. I remember having to hold onto the railing in the hallway when I was walking the halls and stopping a lot because of pain.

    I had a c-section back in 2007 & a breast reduction in 2000. Getting sleeved was a walk in the park compared to those! The hardest time was being able to get my fulids and Protein in. You will be just fine. ;)

  16. Thanks for the info. I am going to the health store today so I will check into Isopure. I am soooo ready to chew something and absolutely can not wait until July 9th when I can start adding food back into my life. In the meantime' date=' Isopurem sounds like it might get me through it.[/quote']

    Try some Hawaiian shaved ice & buy sugar free flavored Syrup ! Awesome treat for chewing and u get your Water in!
