    10 things I can't wait to do

This is great! Here's mine: 1. Sit in my husband's lap without feeling like I'm crushin' him (he's 140lbs) 2. Me on top sex without crushing my husband. 3. Victoria Secret purchases 4. Shopping at any store in the "normal sizes" section 5. Being able to backpack a whole week without feeling like I'm gonna die. 6. Run a half marathon (looking at one this December...the Santa Hustle) 7. Being able to do full pushups and planks without feeling like my back is going to break 8. Sky diving (here in East TN) & Bungee jumping (In New Zealand) 9. Never worrying about riding any theme park rides... Never having the fear of "what if it doesn't latch cause I'm so big!) 10. New boobs... I've never had very large breasts even at my largest. Once I'm down to my goal weight, I'm gettin' new boobs..ha!!
  2. Hey there Seattlesportsfan! Tips: 1. Carry your heating pad. 2. I highly recommend the Italian restaurant that is on the property at the hotel for your last meal (I heard the Steakhouse is good too). 3. If you are in pain, just tell them and they will give you pain meds. 4. There are only 2 English channels on the TV, so take something like a book or a Kindle or something to keep you entertained. 5. It's HOT there... so if you walk outside, don't stay out too long. 6. Hold on, on Day 2...the pain is going to suck, but on Day 3 you'll feel much better! 7. For whoever is going with you, the restaurant in the hospital is good per my husband, and there is a mall that is only about a half mile away that has a food court. There's also a chinese restaurant right across the street. I had a fantastic experience there, and I'm sure you will too! Good luck! Feel free to message me any specific questions you have

Gluten free, sugar free, fat free OH MY!

Remember you need Protein first, then complex carbs next. Some meals, once you get in the 3 oz of protein (like chicken), you may not have room for anything else. Veggies need to be really well cooked...remember your stomach can't break down raw veggies for quite a while. Keep it simple...simple protein (like chicken, fish), with simple, well cooked complex carb (like say really well steamed broccoli or boiled squash). You can have a scallop...not sure why you can't.

    Full liquids

I started full liquids as well today! Had some cream of mushroom with some unflavored Protein powder mixed in...pretty darn good. Hope they get your blood pressure settled so you start feeling amazing

    Five days out...

You are allowed to use Imodium (atleast that's what my doc recommended)

Is it normal to feel weak and tired?

Well, let's see.... not only are you asking your body to just live on minimal energy, but you are asking also asking it to workout on minimal energy. Your body needs food. Yes it can use fat to "survive", but it's going it's not going to be "energetic". You have got to eat the minimal 600 - 800 calories (the top of that range if you are working out), and you have to get in the required fluids and protein. So no, it's not normal to feel weak & tired if you are following the eating guidelines.... but yes you will feel weak & tired if you are not giving your body what it needs. Also, are you taking those Vitamins including B-12?? Give your body what it needs, and it will give you the energy you need.

    Dumping or fatigue?

You are already eating cottage cheese?? Gees...that's not on my eating list until 20 days out. With you only being 4 days out, I would think you'd still be on Clear liquids only...but I know every doc is different. Either way, I'm not sure that caused your fatigue. Are you getting in your fluids? Hope you feel better soon. And "dumping" would equal you being on a toilet as your body "dumps" your stomach's contents.

    Family Pictures

I feel the same when I look at my wedding pictures on the walls... And this is why I've told my husband when I get to goal, we are doing a vow renewal on the beach, dress, tux and all...ha!! You can't be as proud of where you are, if you don't acknowledge where you came from. Chin up grammy...your best years are still ahead

It is a drink of beauty

Oh, I do like wine...and mixed drinks...as long as they aren't in a martini glass..ha! White Russians, Margaritas & Blush Wines are what I drink, when I drink (which presleeve is about what you have now...once a month)

It is a drink of beauty

Quite lovely. I just can't do martini's... it's the dang glass. I'm a clutz and need something without such a big ole rim...ha!

    I'm hungry!

Are you taking a PPI like Nexium? Also, a growling tummy doesn't always equal hunger. Sometimes it's processing what you last ate, or could be some gas going on in there... just my thoughts. It's all a learning process for us newbies..ha!

    June 2013 Sleevers! "The List"

Hey Guys... So sorry to report that Alex told me you can only edit a post for 1 month...then it's Locked... So sorry...it's sucks. I might start a new post, and copy the original list over and add on to it. I'm thinkin' about it.
  13. Can't travel? Heck I was on a plane 3 days after surgery heading home and did just fine! (most of us Mexico surgery folks did). I don't understand why you can't travel... Do know you may not have all the energy you want in Miami, and you won't be able to swim... So it's up to you. I postponed my surgery until after a vacation. So you do what works for you.

    June 2013 Sleevers! "The List"

Hey guys! For some reason I no longer have the option to Edit my first post! Frustrating! I'll try to contact an administrator to see what's up. Sorry for the frustration!
  15. strange observation this morning: Since surgery, my plantar fasciitis in both my feet is gone! A year and a half I've had the pain, and since surgery it's gone! What?! Maybe the rest and pain medications used in the hospital?? I pray it stays gone!!

    Day Three Sucks

My Day 2 sucked the worst... but here at Day 6, I feel pretty much "back to normal". As for drinking... try taking a sip, and then taking a deep breath afterwards... I learned this trick during the barium test (the doc showed me), and it makes the Fluid go on down in to your stomach. (Can't hurt to try). Sorry you are feeling bad, it will get better... so as WilsonPhillips would say "Hold on for one more day, day, day...."
  17. Great job Gman!! Them yungins can learn a thing or two from you...ha! What a great NSV!

are you also keeping your electrolytes in check? Mix some gatorade in with your water or some propel or something of the sort.
  19. the best clear liquid dinner to date: strained egg drop soup...ate a whole cup...my "tiny tum" was happy and so was my tongue ;)

    Life with "Tiny Tum" begins!

I wrote a pretty long post about my surgery and experience on my blogger blog, which you can find HERE . But for the reader's digest version: Surgery went great with Dr. Aceves and his staff down at Hospital Almater down in Mexicali. The hospital beautiful and clean, the staff super friendly and the language difference wasn't an issue. My "final meal" the night before was a fantastic italian dish of chicken and tortellini with tiramisu for dessert. The day after surgery was the worst and painful with the gas pains and drain site discomfort, but by day 3, I was much better. Day 4 we flew home, and today I have done 3 loads of laundry and put them up, walked 30 minutes on my treadmill, and put up everything from traveling, and feel almost back to "normal"...ha! I didn't reach my 64 oz liquid, 70 grams of protein, but I'm getting closer every day. I did make some "protein infused sugar free jello" and with a dollup of coolwhip, it rocked. I've also had the unjury chicken broth, and diluted gatorade today...both good. I have found my Tiny Tum doesn't really care for the artificial sweetners added to water (like vitamin water zero and the syntrix necture stuff), but hopefully that will change. I even made a big spaghetti dinner for my husband with roasted yellow squash and garlic bread, and didn't even crave it...it was very odd. Like perhaps I wanted a taste, but didn't want it in my stomach if that makes sense. It was the weirdest thing... but I'm thankful! Still happy I made this decision, and I plan to wait until Friday morning to do my first post surgery weigh in. And so...Life begins with Tiny Tum

    Pre-op/sugery tomorrow

well you don't have to eat broth...how about some jello? wonder why it grosses you out though. Do you never drink the broth from a bowl of chicken noodle soup? Would it be less weird if you opened a can of progresso soup and just drained the broth out and ate it that way instead of broth from a carton or can that was just broth?
  23. slept through day 1, day 2 sucked arse in the pain dept, but day 3 is going so much better.... now comes the hard part of learning how to eat again ;)

  24. iv in and ready for surgery. see ya on the sleeved side!

  25. "all my bags are packed, I'm ready to go..." We have to get up at 3:30 to catch our flight to Atlanta, then San Diego, then it's on to see Dr. Aceves for preop testing (surgery friday). Please say a little prayer for me. I struggled through the preop diet..grr. So ready to have something that gives me a jumpstart...I've lost hope on "diets"
