  1. What complications did they have years later? Hate to hear that.
  2. I start my liquid diet tomorrow. I've been on pre-op since Monday. I'm so nervous. I can't think of anything else.
  3. I'm right there! I'm going September 17th - 3 days away! I am absolutely freaking out! I am SCARED to death! I'm so nervous! I keep thinking I'm going to die, or not lose weight, or I'll have serious complications and what will my little boy without me?! It's horrendous! I just keep trying to think that if I don't do it, I'm really not going to have very long with my son.
  4. I'm going September 17th! I'm so nervous at this point I can't see straight!
  5. Yeah, I was really surprised I got a date so soon! They just told me yesterday! I was like dang 2 weeks away! LOL
  6. Got my date today! September 17th!!! Super excited but scared to death!!!
  7. Woo hoo! It's officially official!! SEPTEMBER 17th!!!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!
  8. Thanks! I'm getting really nervous. I even had a dream that I'd had my surgery and I just woke up and my stomach was really sore! LOL! I'm ready but I'm nervous!
  9. I had the last appointment of my six month wait yesterday!!! My doctors office just called and said I had everything I needed and they're giving the doctor my char today for review!!! I should get a call sometime during the first of next week to come in and get my surgery date!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M FINISHED!!! It's almost surgery time! It just flew by! Now I'm super excited and super super super nervous!!! I'm hoping I will get a date for sometime in September!!! WOOHOO!!!!!
  10. I had to do the six month wait and it's flown by! I do my last diet class this month and then I have an appointment on August 1st and I'm officially done and I can get a surgery date! It will fly by!
  11. Good luck to you! I hope everything goes well!
  12. I'm going to get the Fusion vitamins. My NUT said it has everything in it and it will be the only thing I'll have to take. It's only gonna cost me around $25 a month too - which will be a lot cheaper than buying everything separately.
  13. Woo hoo! My doctor gives out binders of everything on the first appointment. It's been super handy! It's made it a lot easier to keep up with all of my appointments and stuff!
  14. I have my sleep study in a couple of week. My insurance wouldn't approve a sleep study in a lab, so I'm doing mine at home.
  15. Congrats! Time does seem to fly by! I have to wait six months (I'm almost in month 4!!!) and I really thought it would feel like forever!!! But it's flown! But congrats to you! I hope everything works out great for you both!
  16. I understand how you feel. I made the decision to only tell a few people - well at first. I told my parents and my dad was super supportive right from the beginning and so was my mom. Then last month she told I should try dieting again, that surgery is really drastic and there is no coming back from it. Now, this month, she's back on board! LOL! She said she just doesn't want something to go wrong or for me to die or be sick all the time. I think a real problem with the sleeve is that people think it's exactly like gastric bypass. I'm 29 years old and when I was like 16 or so we met a lady who'd had gastric bypass and she had nothing but horror stories to tell my mother and I. So, to this day, that's what my mother thinks. And she was telling me that I would get dumping syndrome and all that. I gave her my handbook to read and then she felt a lot better. I don't know if your doctor gave you anything like that or not, but mine gave us a folder full of info. Now, my mother has even mentioned maybe trying to have surgery at some point! She wants it now! I know it's hard, but give her some time. You are her baby and she doesn't want anything bad to happen to you. I don't know if you have kids, but I have a 3 year old son and I would go nuts if he had to have a major surgery because I don't want anything to every hurt him. Maybe your mom will never be supportive, *but* maybe in time she'll come around - especially after you have surgery and she realizes you're going to be just fine.
  17. Yay! Congrats! I was really worried I would fail mine, but I didn't lol!!! They made my take a personality quiz with over 300 questions -sheesh! I'm glad it's over!
  18. My little boy is 3 and I'm never away from him. It sounds exciting to get to sleep away from him for a while, but I will probably be too worried that he's not sleeping well! At least the time I'm there I'll get to sit still a little bit and won't have 40 pounds of child doing flips off my back and shoulders all day! LOL! I'm looking forward to walking into a place and not worrying about what kind of seats they have. I got a big ol' booty and hips so chairs with arms are no fun for me!
  19. I had lost 4.5 pounds on my second weigh in, but on my third I'd gained 2.5 pounds over my starting weight! It is very frustrating. June will be month #4 for me. I can't believe how fast everything is going by! It won't be long before the weight is falling off! So, just stick in there!
  20. I had my EGD this morning and they didn't do anything like that for me.
  21. Wow, really?! I've done almost all that stuff. I had to have blood work, echo, psych eval, sleep study, and I have my EGD next week. So truly the only thing I have left is two more support groups and three more diet education classes and I'm finished. I'm hoping that they'll give me a surgery date on June 4!!
