Hi everyone! Im July 1 too. Getting very very nervous! Had last meeting today with surgeon and I cried! So embarrassing. I have to be at hospital at 7 am and surgery at 1020 am. Pre op diet is just low carb and low fat and clear liquids on Sunday.

Only have 1 cup of coffee a day and really don't want to give that up! :-) I really wish that I had done better at losing weight the last 3 months, totally fell into the food funeral mind set though.

Just found out I'm having surgery on July 1! That means I only have 6 days for my pre-op diet. I hope that will be enough!

Thanks everyone, I will keep you all posted! I'm definitely nervous, cold feet are setting in. I really wasn't expecting to have my date so close to getting approval. The no carb/low fat diet for the next few days will be a challenge but I should lose a few pounds. I really want this surgery to go smoothly and am hoping for an easy-ish recovery! Next step is buying all my vitamins/supplements (not sure about dosing for these) and taking some "before" pics.

I just got my insurance approval today. Surgeons office called to schedule my last appointment before surgery. Long story short- looks like I will have that appointment this Friday and my surgery on Monday 7/1!! Due to my husbands work schedule it was either schedule for 7/1 or wait till 7/24. (hubby will also be having surgery but I'm going first due to his busy schedule and child care). So, starting no carb diet today and all liquids Sunday. I am so excited and scared. I hope this is enough time for my liver to shrink too.

Just wanted to say hi! I'm in Jax too and Dr. Uchal will be doing my surgery too. Waiting on my insurance approval then am good to go.

In this class there were about 20 people. Only 3 were getting band,1 GB, and the rest are getting sleeved. I really hope I don't mess up on my pre-op diet.

Sorry if this has been asked before! I have 3 children and 1 is only 16 months old. I forgot to ask Dr. how long I'll have to wait to pick her up. What was your experience with this?

My surgeon recommends a sleeve and I'm 95% sure that is what I want. The thought of cutting off stomach does scare me.

I am getting pretty nervous! My husband is having WLS surgery too. We are pretty sure we are both getting the VSG but still considering the band. I think after this class the dr office is submitting our paperwork to insurance. I have another meeting with surgeon and need to get blood work done. All our other clearances are done. The past 3months have really flown by!

My husband and I are both being sleeved by Dr. Uchal. We have our last class on 5/30 and hope to get a surgery date soon after that!
