  1. It's different for everyone.. depends on how much you need to lose, how long you have been heavy and your age. On that note, I have also been using Palmers Cocoa butter to help with it and so far so good. I'm trying to do everything I can to prevent needing to have another surgery to fix loose skin.
  2. I had some at about 2 months out without issue. Only a couple of pieces though.
  3. great inspiration man, thanks for posting. Hoping for the same results
  4. Another Milestone hit!! 70(.5) down 70(.5) to go!!!! So excited to be moving on to the far end of that ticker!! Thanks for the comments everyone.
  5. check your blood pressure, and I would also speak to your doctor.. It could be a few things.. but I had major dizzyness and it was low blood pressure.
  6. I would hold off until you level off for a few months. My friend has one on her upper thigh and dropped about 40 lbs.. She plans on getting a coverup done once she loses the rest of the weight she has planned. It's not horrible.. but it's only a year old and it is visably difficult to tell what exactly it is unless you look close. I'm very picky about my tatt's and for what you pay for a high end artist to do perfect lines and shading, it's worth waiting til those lines will look great for years and years to come.
  7. Like Nike says.. Just do it. There is no secret answer to the question.. You have to set up a schedule for yourself and stick to it. Use a calendar, an app, whatever, and schedule it with a reminder and stick with it. After a couple of weeks, you will be in a routine and it will be easier to stick with. Another option would be to get involved in some sort of class, or find a workout buddy who will push you to go even when you don't want to. Start slow, and don't overdo it. When I returned to mma, I did 3 days a week of yoga then did 2 days yoga 1 day jui jitsu. Now I am doing 5 days a week 2 days jui jitsu, 1 day kick boxing, 1 day wrestling 1 day cross training. I also do an hour of yoga before each class. So about 2 hours a day. I may add another day to the mix
  8. Glad to see you are taking the steps to return to better health. It is a journey like no other. I too was drawn to the sleeve surgery after research and I am not disappointed in my choice. There are struggles, and time where you may say to yourself "what did I do?" but those times pass, and as you adjust to your new lifestyle, the rewards are amazing. This site has such good support for us, and it is a great replacement for the in person groups which I do not take part in. Use the search feature for any questions and you almost certainly will get the answer you seek, and keep us all up to date with your progress.. Congrats, and welcome to the sleever club.
  9. Just tough it out.. I don't know what your Doc allows.. each is different. Mine allowed a Protein and veggie dinner yogurt for snacking, and shakes for Breakfast and lunch.. After surgery the liquid diet I was dieing for something savory. I would do a glass of V8 with horse radish, or a splash of Worcestershire sauce.. It gave me the spicy I was looking for with a veggie taste to it.
  10. We get bags of the Ice from Sonic which is a soft nugget type ice and I chew on them all the time.. I've always been an ice chewer so it works perfect for me.
  11. congrats, and best wishes.
  12. Every doc is different. I'm a smoker, and he knew that going in.. I told him I probably wouldn't quit and while he advised I do and gave me reasons why it can cause complications with the surgery, he didn't make a big deal about it.. If you aren't a smoker and just started, STOP.. Nicotine is very hard to kick and it's sooo not worth getting hooked. With that said, find out from your doctor.. but chances are he's going to say the same thing.
  13. I was having the same issue last week (about 7 weeks out) and found out it was low blood pressure combined with not eating enough. I only manage to get about 400 calories in per day and they want me to eat at least 600-800 preferred 1200.. I do what I can, but try to eat the highest protein stuff I can for at least 3 meals and then 2 snacks with veggies.
  14. So, I am almost at 2 months out and I figured I would share my progress so far. I didn't realize just how much shrinking I have done

  16. congrats! don't you love it when a shirt get baggy on ya?
  17. See how you feel.. I think my doc said wait a full week. If you are on pain meds still then they suggest waiting a full 24 hours after the last dose you take. I didn't drive for about 10 days after, but could have after probably 5ish.
  18. you look great in both pics. Congrats on the weight loss. I think my face was the first noticeable thing for me also.
  19. Thanks I am glad to know that it's just the honeymoon thing. It's good to know that. It might just be new stomach confidence, but even beyond small portions and excluding special occasions (eating out is usually a once a month thing or less for us) My wife and I have made major dietary changes. We eat much healthier meals then we used to and substitute healthier ingredients for ones that are less healthy.. I've been following Bobby Dean's show "Not my momma's Meals" which takes his mother Paula Dean's recipes and makes them healthier lowering carbs, fat and calories. Not everything on there is a home run, but lots of them are really good, and good for you. Might be worth checking out for those of you who are looking for healthier recipes too.. We have been using my post surgery recovery time to really change the way we both eat, and our overall health in general.. Besides my MMA training, we both now go to the gym 3 days a week. Sundays we take a long hike instead of the gym. Right now my workout schedule is Mon / Wed / Fri Gym with wife Mon-sat MMA training Sundays hike, or walk w/ wife. I am pretty sure that is why the weight has slowed since week 6.. That's when I started working out again so I am probably rebuilding muscle as well as burning fat.
  20. awesome.. thanks all.. I'd love to hear from some of the vets too silly thing to worry about.. I just let my head get ahead of me.
  21. 30-30-30 pretty much is your new rule as far as I know. The pain does stop, but portions for me are very small still.. I haven't had bread, but I can't finish say a normal burger patty (not the giant ones you get at chili's, but the thinner ones you see at bbq's. Some foods are a little easier then others.. I was pretty much able to eat anything without much issue, but like I said very small amounts.
  22. OK, I've been reading a lot here about what people eat at my stage (8 weeks out) and I'm a little concerned that I am not able to eat even a fraction of what others can.. Example.. Last night we took my mother out for Mothers day.. It wasn't anything fancy as we where gutting a bathroom in the apartment building they just purchased.. We went to a local diner, and I ordered the pot roast. It came with salad, mashed potato, and green Beans. I ate the cucumber off the salad, and a tiny piece of chicken from a fajita that they got as an app. I mean a tiny piece like a pinky tip.. Then I had 1 slice of the pot roast (it was thinly sliced like a spiral ham and about 3 inches round. That was all I could eat.. I had them pack up the rest and my wife had it today. I would expect at this point to be able to eat a bite of salad, and maybe 2 slices of meat some vegge and maybe a bite of potato. I didn't drink anything before the meal either. The other night a bunch of us went out for a ride on the bikes, and stopped at a bar to eat.. I ordered 5 buffalo shrimp and only was able to eat 3 of them. took the other 2 and the fries home. Is it possible that there is still swelling in the stomach at this far out, and it will loosen up at some point, or is this what I will be expecting to eat for the rest of my life. I am down a lot since surgery, and while I am not loosing what I was the first month, I slowed to about 4-5lbs a week. My main worry is when I hit goal, how will I be able to up the calories enough to maintain that weight if I can't hardly get anything in this tiny gut of mine.
  23. Yes, I had the same issue upped my water intake and it's helped.
  24. I was told 6 weeks before going back to mma, riding my motorcycle, and lifting weights. So I would guess that would be about the same for basketball and cricket.
  25. If you are not apposed to cheese I find that to be something that I enjoy and gives decent protein. Cottage, ricotta, cheddar (just chew it til it's like paste) they all come in low / no fat versions too.
