  1. It lad to hear that over easy/ fried worked better cause that's my favorite way to hVe them.....please describe your horror show to me so I know what to expect
  2. I'm with ya man I would rather have savory salty over anything mmmmmmmmmmmmm I'm sure 6 + months from now I won't even want it cause from what everyone's telling me my taste buds will change...with Larry taffy I doubt it haha . And you kids duke it out . I'll eat some popcorn on the sidelines and watch......ehhh wait I'm still on full liquids, just kidding
  3. Everyone's plans are SO different. I was on clear liquids for 2 weeks, full 1week, purée 1 week and soft 1 week. My plan and my friends are so different . Just trying to see what works for everyone and at about what week they could tolerate it I'm gonna try the ricotta bake and marinara in my purée stage, I guess I'll call my surgeon about the eggs. I heard a lot of people have issues with eggs (which I hope passes cause I love eggs!) my friend suggested scrambled first then whole next
  4. What the %^&*&^ is a TIC taco??? You've never had a taco flavored tic tac? It's the newest thing at Taco Bell right now . I like the chalupa flavored ones myself
  5. Hahaha right?! I don't get it either, my Protein drinks make me gag now I have to plug my nose to drink it down. My saving grace is tomatoe Soup. My vitamins don't make me want candy ... It's crazy to me not having an appitite. Such a weird feeling.
  6. I'm not thinking of trying anything anytime soon , I was thinking in the future 6months + out. I lost 40 lbs before my sleeve and loved having a mini laffy taffy on occasion since I'm not a junk food kind of person. I take gummy vitamins and tolerate it fine. Hoping I can in the future, again not any time soon.
  7. Thanks for being rude. I am newly sleeved hence Bwhy I am asking if anyone was able to eat candy in the future. But thanks for making me feel stupid for asking!
  8. I like to have a piece of candy on occasion, my favorite being the mini laffy taffy, sour skittles, star burst minis --- Ofcourse I wouldn't get them all in one sitting but I'm curious if anyone has tried them. I wonder if our stomachs can tolerate the chewy gummy candies . Let me know your experience.
  9. I've been confused on what foods I can actually have , this week will be my last week on full liquids, thank god ! I will be on puréed foods for a week after that, with that said I found recipes about bakes ricotta cheese with marinara sauce,... Can I have that during the puréed stage? What stage would eggs be in ? Everyone's telling me something different. What about salsa? Please give me suggestions for my puréed stage & soft ! THANK YOU
  10. Thanks for the advise peeps! I have oil that contains vit E and tea tree oil I'm gonna give that a try once I'm healed! My incisions are actually pretty small so I'm staying hopeful!
  11. Thanks for the advise peeps! I have oil that contains vit E and tea tree oil I'm gonna give that a try once I'm healed! My incisions are actually pretty small so I'm staying hopeful!
  12. I'm 10 days out and 16 lbs down woooo! Go us!!!'
  13. Omg I'm sick of waiting but I can't even sleep on my side without pain let alone be on all 4's lmao
  14. So I'm a week post op and I swear my incisions are almost healed, they are under steri strips, which will not remove, I was instructed to let them fall off on their own, but I'm curious how long it takes on average to heal? As for scars, I am lucky to have all my stretch marks the color of my skin ( they were noticeable and red/purple when I was in middle school) any creams/ lotions that help fade scars? I'm hoping they won't be too bad but I still want them to fade.
  15. Apply tegraderm, we use it in the hospitals to cover your if, almost reminds you of Saran Wrap but sticky on one side. You can get it at cvs, Walgreens, Walmart, target etc . I'm going to myrtle beach so I will be applying it over my incisions. You can apply right over your scar or put a cotton ball over your scar and tegraderm over top. No water gets through! Last summer I got my nipples pierced, I went to the ocean and applied degrade fm over so I didn't expose them to the water. NO issues, no problems! IV **
  16. 4 visible, 1 in my belly button!....which makes me cringe but I'm glad ones hidden
  17. Thanks guys! I'm gonna look into them! . So the flavorless protein does it leave food a different texture? Say if I mix it in cream of wheat? Etc
  18. I too was sleeved on the 27th, I'm getting in close to 60g of protein via shakes and powder protein plus I am having skim milk and chicken broth. Included I am getting close to 60 oz of fluids in (sigh my Soup, Water to mix with protein etc) . I swear it's all I am doing but I am determined to get my recommended amount in . I'm having no issues with getting Iquitos down what so ever.......craving real food like no body's buisness...I miss chewing
  19. I got sleeved June 27, 2016! I'm down 13 lbs 1 week out my doctor required 1 day prior of liquid diet so I didn't lose much before surgery. I was approved and surgery was scheduled 6 days before Monday! Crazy!
  20. Hey I am newly sleeved as of last Monday June ,27,2016 . I am looking for protein powders and premade drinks since this is all so new to me. Before my surgery I was weightlifting and using Body Fortress Whey powder in vanilla, but it's 20gm/protein per scoop. Looking for ones with higher protein. I have no problems with getting liquids down so I would love to know what premade liquid ones work for you guys as well as how much water do you typically add to your powder? Thanks!!!
  21. I didn't hear back for a month! But I was approved after trying three times!
  22. Girl, I had the WORST time with atena insurance. Not to worry you but this was my experience. About three years ago I tried and was denied, I then appealed and was denied again.....fast forward to last September 2015 I started the process AGAIN...10 months later and I was approved! Do NOT gain any weight during your weigh ins ( I weighed in on weeks where I was on my period and they gave me a hard time ) I had to jump through so many hoops with atena, make sure you have everything and more that they want, if you can be tested positive for sleep apnea that helps a lot. I just had surgery Monday June 27th and they took a month to get back to me and they have to have a medical review board review my case cause I gainen5 lbs, that almost got me denied. I am 4 days post op now and 5 lbs down. Just do what I did and keep fighting! It's emotionally/ mentally exhausting but if you want it bad enough you'll fight for it. Make sure your bariatric office who is submitting your paperwork has everything, if I wasn't all over them they would have submitted the wrong things etc. don't get discouraged! Keep your head up and proactive !!
  23. Yup I watched! And that barium swallow solution was so gross, I was terrified to take my first sip!
