What’s the Most Awkward Part of WLS?

Awkward hmmmm...probably constant protein farts :-P ....nothing has been really akward...but people who don't know me ask well why didn't you just work out with a trainer first ? No crap like I didn't try that and everything else under the sun. Makes me wanna punch someone . Cause weightloss surgery is totally an easy way out says NO ONE who is going through it .

    Not losing post op?

Totally normal! It's the dreaded stall. I lost 11 lbs my first week...2nd week NOTHING. I WENT UP AND DOWN 1lb didn't lose until week 3... I'm almost to week 4 and down 21 lbs.

      Woohoo! Awesome!

  7. I start puréed food tomorrow, suggestions appreciated !
  8. I like to have a piece of candy on occasion, my favorite being the mini laffy taffy, sour skittles, star burst minis --- Ofcourse I wouldn't get them all in one sitting but I'm curious if anyone has tried them. I wonder if our stomachs can tolerate the chewy gummy candies . Let me know your experience.
  9. I'm exactly 2 weeks post op and during this time I lost 16 lbs, but since Wednesday I've weighed 254 lbs (I usually weigh myself wed and Sunday and log it in my journal) I was cleared to work out so I've done 30 mins on the arc Trainor (it's like an elliptical) and walking around my neighbor hood etc. Been moving moving moving . I am getting plenty of fluids in and I get 75-80 GM protein in. I'm following my plan I just don't know what's happening or what I'm doing wrong. I'm not drinking sugary drinks I only have water, milk every few days, water, protein shakes, yogurt which is 0 everything, and now I'm on full soups I'll do tomato from Panera bread etc. maybe it's sodium from the soups? Is this normal? I know I already lost a significant amount which I wouldn't have been able to accomplish in a week let alone a month on my own but it bums me out to see that the scale hasn't moved in almost a week.
  10. The dreaded "2 weeks stall" won't budge...ain't nobody got time for disssss I have vacation coming up!

    Okay, this is weird.

My low bs episodes feel different now than they did when I had a normal stomach FYI
  12. Red_lips_and_confidence

    Okay, this is weird.

Sounds like low blood sugar, this happens to me. I was sweating, shaking, collapsed on the floor. So now I carry tic tacs in my purse as a back up but I always try to carry a container of Powerade WITH sugar, I drink 2-5 oz and I feel back to normal. Try to split your protein up and have some in the beginning middle and end of day so you can keep your blood sugar consistent. Helped me so much!
  13. Popsicle ******and more Water before bed****** I also do a cup of milk and 5 oz Powerade if I feel my blood sugar going down
  14. It's no joke a full time job, I'm 2 & 1/2 weeks weeks out and I have to set alarms on my phone to remind me to get protein in and drink. It was hard for me the first two weeks although I managed but it's getting a lot easier! My stomach is handling more liquids. Then it was before . Don't get me wrong it's still a chore but it's getting easier. Just aim for high protein. I usually do a scoop of 30 gm protein drink with 5oz water in the morning and night.. 4 oz cottage cheese 13 gm protein , zero calorie ice cold vitamin water made with trivia is a life saver..I love the strawberry lemonade one. It's not acidic tasting . I carry water with me 24 hour and drink. Drink drink even if I'm not thirsty I make myself go through a 20oz vit water, 16 oz water, plus whatever I mix in to my protein drinks , posix le and more after before bed. It's literally a full time job....it'll pay off

    Puréed diet hacks

Ooh good suggestion about puréed meat in tomato soup! I'm obsessed with my tom soup right now being on full liquids, I'm getting it at Panera (it's heavenly) I was thinking mannnn I don't want to ever touch broth again I'm so sick of it from my first few weeks post op, I really didn't wanna put it in meat and purée it, but awesome suggestion, I may even try some cheese soup :-P

  20. I've been confused on what foods I can actually have , this week will be my last week on full liquids, thank god ! I will be on puréed foods for a week after that, with that said I found recipes about bakes ricotta cheese with marinara sauce,... Can I have that during the puréed stage? What stage would eggs be in ? Everyone's telling me something different. What about salsa? Please give me suggestions for my puréed stage & soft ! THANK YOU

I am doing actually really well! My doctor said above average . I am not craving it , it's more out of Curiosity since I'm so much in the early stages I wonder what works for people in the future thanks for the suggestions ! A trail mix would be good!

Is it normal to stall after 2 weeks?

When did you have your surgery? When did you notice your stall? I will do measurements more so when I start weight lifting again cause that's when you gain muscles but lose inches. Right now I'm just walking so it's either Water weight or sodium from soups, something idk! :-|

I'm with ya man I would rather have savory salty over anything mmmmmmmmmmmmm I'm sure 6 + months from now I won't even want it cause from what everyone's telling me my taste buds will change...with Larry taffy I doubt it haha . And you kids duke it out . I'll eat some popcorn on the sidelines and watch......ehhh wait I'm still on full liquids, just kidding

Marinara sauce - puréed stage suggestions

Everyone's plans are SO different. I was on clear liquids for 2 weeks, full 1week, purée 1 week and soft 1 week. My plan and my friends are so different . Just trying to see what works for everyone and at about what week they could tolerate it I'm gonna try the ricotta bake and marinara in my purée stage, I guess I'll call my surgeon about the eggs. I heard a lot of people have issues with eggs (which I hope passes cause I love eggs!) my friend suggested scrambled first then whole next
