    Headache two weeks post op

I think it's probably reflux. I too have been feeling that way. I think my headaches are a cross between clenching my jaw and detoxing off sugar, caffeine, carbs etc. try some baby Tylenol. But definitely try to drink some more Water.
  3. I also Am a self pay who went to Mexico! My husband was supportive and as the time got closer he would make comments to me about not going! I took my step mom with me as a companion! My dad was devastated, he told me I was crazy. No one was opposed to the surgery, only to the fact it was MEXICO!!!! I received phenomenal care, better than the US, my step mom was very impressed an thinking about going herself now. Girl, make yourself happy. Do something for you! You cannot allow others to hold you from your dream, this is a huge step and it was huge to actually make a date and buy a ticket. So many times I've said I was going to do something about my weight and health and then become fearful of change! Follow through, or you will regret it later! Also, my anti going father sent me a text message as I was getting ready to board the plane, and he told me, " I care about you and I love you so much, and I just want you to come home safely". He knew tat I wanted his blessing, but he also knew that I was going wether he gave it or not! Good luck
  4. I too was sleeved by Dr. Aceves, it was an excellent experience! Of course I didn't feel it was too costly, considering its almost 20k in the states. I understand Tiajuana is cheaper, but I was looking for great care at a great price, instead of cheap.
  5. I was sleeved on the 18th and am still in my clear liquids diet. I make sure to get my 70g of protein a day but struggling with the 64 oz of water. I have been having severe headaches and has pain. I am wondering if my jaw hurts from not chewing? Has anybody else felt this? I'm sure the headaches are from detoxing off everything, I was a low BMI and did not have to do a pre-op diet. I feel like I can't wait to have more substance and that this month might just be the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with! I though my husband would be more supportive when it comes to meal times, but so far I have been expected to cook every meal, which in turn brings me to tears and down right pisses me off! Don't get me wrong, I love to cook and take care of my family, but I also love to eat! Nothing like standing over the stove frying chicken for an hour, knowing you won't be eating it! Or watching everyone enjoy a family meal while your sitting there with your shake! How are others getting through this time? I understand I made a choice for myself and that this is just the way it is, but damn I didn't think my head would mess with me this bad. - a mourning sleever
  6. I am one week post- op and I feel like I'm hungry too! It was so easy being at the hospital and knowing there wasn't food to look at, but since I have come home and have had to cook for my family, I feel like I could turn into a psyco path! I sometimes have to chew gum to satisfy my urge to chew. I cannot wait to have real food again.

    Post op clear liquids!

Also, it doesn't help that I quit smoking a month prior to surgery like suggested, and since I have been home I have been smoking to comfort my self. Still refusing to buy a pack, but have been smoking 3-5 a day.

    Post op clear liquids!

Thanks everyone! Yes they are great ideas. I did put dinner in the crock pot today! And plan to do so again tomorrow. I have a member ship to the gym so I think that while everyone is having their dinner, I will use that time to walk for an hour. Plus it gets me away for a while. I am going to try some baby Tylenol and see how that works out for my headache. On the bright side my pants are falling off of me today and my belt is of no help! Lol! And I am down about 15lbs in just a weeks time. I also can't wait to start cooking for myself. I had a friend who had a bypass a few years ago and she told me to get a diabetic cookbook! I have been looking at some recipes on Pinterest as well. I know that I won't be able to consume a whole lot, but I am excited for that first supper:).
  9. I had my surgery on 3-18-13. I am just 5 days post-op. I went to Mexicali so that I could have Dr. Aceves do my vertical sleeve. I am so glad that I did. I was originally going for the lap band, thank god I continued my research and became more educated. Almater Hospital and there staff was excellent. Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos were amazing and they have great bed side manor. I never would have received that kind of care in the states. Anyone who is looking into a vertical sleeve I would totally recommend them. My journey of course has just started, I am excited to become the new me, and will be reaching out for support from fellow sleevers!

Please Include Me in Your Prayers...

Amanda, I'm sorry that we weren't able to continue our adventure back to San Diego together. However I feel blessed to have met you and can't wait for our results to start showing. I'm glad Dr. Campos was fast and efficient with you that night and that all is well for you! I'm sure your probably just arriving home, so good luck to you, enjoy your family and I hope to chat with you soon.
  12. I am newly sleeved! 3-18-13, and the gas has been the worst part for me! I have been up walking consistently since I came out of recovery. I have had a hard time being able to burp, and when I can or if I hiccup it hurts so bad. My insidious have never bothered me! I occasionally feel bruised but my biggest complaint is the gas, and the shoulder pain! Gas X strips have helped me be able to fall asleep, but they don't last long! Everyone is different, you just have to find what works for you! Good luck to all!
