  1. Did insurance cover any of it?
  2. Had my surgery in August and lately I feel like I'm PMSing all the time. I snap at the smallest things and just get angry really fast. I've begun yelling at my kids, which I never did before surgery. They don't deserve it. I've been with my husband for 10 years and he's always been one of those guys you have to remind 3 or 4 times to get him to do a chore. All of a sudden, I get really angry with him when I have to ask him to do something more than once. Like screaming at him and being just plain mean. I know it's not right but it's like I can't control it. I'm trying to just walk out of the room when I feel my anger starting so I don't say anything I would regret. I know it's hormonal, but can I do something about it? Is there a medication that could calm me? I take my Vitamins and get my Water and Protein. Just looking for advice.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong...

I had surgery on August 5th and I'm only down 10 lbs. scale hasn;t moved in a week. I'm eating so little, it's frustrating. But I'm going to start walking more this weekend, even though I have no energy.

    August Sleevers Check In

I have two toddlers so my house is never really clean, LOL. But it's as good as it's going to get. My bag isn't packed but I'm only bringing a robe, fresh undies, chapstick, tooth brush and paste. And maybe a book. I just want this day to speed by. And for those of you who said that their minds have been clearer, I have the same feeling. Maybe it's because all the gluten is out of me? Enlightened1....are you all packed? AHHHH......I'm so nervous!!!!!!

    August Sleevers Check In

    I'm August 5th and I'm sooo nervous. I'm a bundle of nerves.
  6. So my doctor has me drink 3 or 4 Slimfast shakes a day for 10 days plus sugar free pudding, popsicles, yogurt, etc. I've been sticking to the diet but I've only lost three pounds in 6 days. I'm scared he is going to open me up on Tuesday and say "This liver is too fatty. Cancel the surgery!" Are hunger pains a sign? Because I haven't really had any. Stressed out.
  7. If anyone wants to be a text buddy, you can PM me your number and I'll respond with mine.

    August Sleevers Check In

I've had two C-sections. I figure I was awake for both of those and they pulled out a 10lb baby each time. This should be a piece of cake. Just stay ahead of the pain with medication. But I'm so anxious. Plus this preop liquid diet is making me cranky. So with the nerves and the crankiness combined, I'm a real delight to hang out with. But this time next week I'll be on the loser's bench. I thought this day would never, ever come.

    August Sleevers Check In

I'm an August 5th Sleeve. So nervous. I'm at work but I can't think of anything but the surgery.
  10. My preop starts on Thursday. I have to drink 3 or 4 Slimfast shakes a day for 10 days. Seems counter intuitive since each one has 18 g of sugar. Anyone else have to drink these Pre op? The good thing is that they are filling, unlike regular Protein shakes.

  12. Taking more pictures with my kids. I avoid the camera like a plague now. I also want to walk past a mirror and not look the other way. I want to have more energy to play with my kids. I want to fit in a concert or airplane seat without my hips being squeezed. I want to wear all of my old clothes and dresses that I have from before my kids were born. I want to wear high heels again. I want to shop for clothes that aren't just comfy, but also pretty.

    I Really Don't Get It

I overheard my HR Director talking to my Fiscal Director about "those poor people who let themselves go and become morbidly obese and have to do something drastic and have surgery." They didn't see me standing near them. Let me first say that these two people are the reason why my company's insurance EXCLUDES bariatric surgery so I had to wait a year and get on my husbands insurance. They said things like how the obese people need to take more responsibility for their health and they just need to exercise and watch what they eat. (Why didn't I think of that???) Neither of these two people are skinny minnies. I didn't say anything, but I felt like blasting them about it. Now everytime I walk past them, I get irritated. So when I went to apply for my STD, I met with the assistant in the HR department (she is also a judgemental little b$%#^ ) and she asked me what surgery I was having. I am not sure why I told her. She ended up telling the other woman and now she has been treating me differently. It's a weird situation. I told my boss and a couple other coworkers and the couldn't be happier for me. After I recover, I am looking for another job. I can't deal with these women anymore.

    Upset

I think the visits have to be within 12 months.
  15. There is still the chubby girl in me who thinks I am going to fail like I did aswk the times I tried losing weight before. But then again, I also feel really motivated. It really is a roller coaster ride of emotions.
