IMO- don't under cut calories and Protein for water! Nourish your body. Eat a few more calories and go for a stroll. Your body needs nutrients to process and eliminate fat and waste!
Sip Water all day yes, but set 6 times you are going to 'eat' and get those nutrients in!

He doesn't deserve you or one precious drop of Water from your eyes. Superficiality is not a trait that anyone needs in a long term relationship. Congratulations on a great weight loss over the months and a massive one today!

The judgement IS the worst. @vane86. I'm so sorry for your loss & your husband's family's reaction. This is a hard enough personal struggle without having to add hateful inlaws, coworkers, neighbors or people you thought were your friends. I couldn't imagine doing this without my husband. He's been a gem! He told me I was always gorgeous, I'm just showing off now. LOL. I LOVE that man!

As my tummy was rumbling yesterday, even with the Protein shakes and chicken breast/salad, I pouted and decided I needed more info on why we do this diet...does it really work, etc.
This had the best detail I've read so far, http://www.lapbandtalk.com/topic/61166-how-to-shrink-your-liver-and-increase-st-weight-loss-%26-8211%3B-the-low-carb-pre-op-diet/
And I finally had the guts to watch a video of the procedure, and understand what they have to do with the liver during the surgery, and now I get it...it's not just a mean thing doctors do to stick it to us, hehe (although after reading the detailed whys and mechanisms...the obscenely restrictive ones still feel a little like that...). Anyhow, knowing how important it is will help me stay with it. Hope the donut dreams stop soon. Good luck fellow pre-oppers! May we all have an adorably tiny liver by surgery day.

I make it with meat sauce for more Protein in single serve ramekins. I bake them in the oven until bubbly and browned, like lasagna. It feels so decadent! Can't beat it when you are craving pizza, lasagna, anything Italian.

As June comes to a close, let's say congratulations once more to all of us. We have all taken a big step this month, one that took a lot of courage and preparation. Raise your Protein shakes...may all of our futures be brighter and healthier. Let's hit it!

I planned to wake up early to drop my car off for service to avoid the Saturday rush..(read avoid people).. but well.. i was late.. reached the service station at 9:30.. I've been going there for almost 2 years now.. and i usually am invisible.. but today... man.. everyone in the waiting room were looking at me and smiling.. i had to turn and look back a couple of times just to make sure there was no one behind me.. i mean.. there were no dirty looks.. people did not cringe when i took an empty seat next to them.. man that sure felt good..
now.. my weight has been increasing everyday this week.. but my body fat percentage has been going down.. but the devil on my shoulder keeps me nagging about the number on the scale.. but today.. with all that positive energy from the service station the angel woke up.. and said.. lets buy you some clothes.. and I followed her orders..
so.. i was in Kohls.. as usual in the plus size section.. and checked out the racks that were 80% marked down.. and i found a beautiful pair of jeans in size 18.. and a few tops in 1x..well.. (i had to force myself to not pick 2x) and off to the dressing room I go.. i look at the jeans.. and what i see.. it was actually 16.. on a 18 hanger.. i was disappointed.. the devil was making his presence known.. but then i tried it on.. and it FIT.. button, zipper and all!!!! i was so excited i skyped my mom from the dressing room..
then the tops.. but the 1x's were loose! to say i was happy is an understatement!!! i get to wander out of the plus size section for the first time in a long time.. so there i went.. in search of XL.. into uncharted territory... i thought that everyone was looking at me thinking I am crazy.. or lost my way.. i did not know where to look.. there were so many sections.. i never paid any attention.. and now i am lost.. every brain cell was telling me to go back to the plus size section.. my safe haven.. but i dared it out.. and picked up a cute skirt in XL..
back to the dressing room it is.. with my new finds.. all in XL.. and they all fit.. and then it was the skirts's turn.. and guess what.. it was a L skirt on an XL hanger.. the angle nudged me to try it on.. and IT FIT! IT FIT!!! i just wanted to sit there and cry.. i've never.. never worn anything in my life that was a size L.
I've come from a very tight 3x to XL/L.. if it was not for the sleeve.. that would have never happened.. (well might have happened..but yo-yo'ed.. if you know what i mean.. )

Hi all wanted to check in, I was sleeved yesterday--surgery went well and Dr. Lee my PA said I have beautiful anatomy, I bet he says that to all his sleeve patients!! Lol
Anyway my reaction to the anesthesia was tough!! I was very out of it in the recovery room shaky lots of aches and pains...some dry heaving, yucky spittle and a low grade headache, also nausea that lasted into this morning.. basically just laid here in and out of a light sleep...the nausea subsided once they took me off of the injectable pain meds and the anti nausea medication did help, so it came in waves instead of being constant...
Overall I'm doing well....I can say that now bc they gave me some lortab orally, which I'm told is liquid vicadin about 10 mins ago..and right now nothing really hurts except where the drain is...also they took out the catheter and I've been able to tinkle on my own, and have some ice chips and propel
Catering has been by twice, so my broth and Jello which I haven't touched yet is starting to pile up (that never would have happened before!!)...I'm not hungry at all...
I'm so happy there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel, I know there's a long road to go, but I'm still happy with my decision and just wanted to thank all of you for your support up to this point... reading everyone's preop and post op experiences had really prepared me for my own...
    THANK YOU!!

Surgery was June 7th, weighed 440, started out at 456 when I decided to finally go thru with this...just made it to 400 this week...clothes are starting to be too big, and I can easily bend over to put on shoes and socks...not a big deal for most people, but it is a big deal for those of us who couldn't...I started way heavier than most so I expect my loss rate is going to be higher than most...
