  1. Hi this question is for those of you who got pregnant post op. First, did the restriction from your sleeve change at all during the pregnancy and/ or after pregnancy? If so did restriction return and when? Secondly how much weight was gained during pregnancy? Were you able to get it off again? If yes, in what time frame? Finally did you ever make it to goal again post pregnancy? Thank you! FYI reposting this again here (originally asked in the general thread) after finding the pregnancy support thread...

    The little things

I'm coming up on my 4 year surgiversary, but I still remember the moment on a date when I looked down at my legs only to realize I was sitting there with them crossed effortlessly AT THE KNEE!!!...in the passenger seat of a Prius!! Side note: ended up marrying my date, and years later the memory of that simple act floods back to me every time I get into that Prius to go for a ride with my husband

Agreed! The support on this thread is exactly what the doctor ordered... it's interesting you mention snacking I was looking at my fitness pal and realizing that a lot of the snacks I had preprogrammed in I never bothered to eat! I feel like I'm finally back on the right track-- strangely though just yesterday I was ravenous-- I wonder if that is bc I am ovulating and/ or bc of my Tuesday fit-mill work out?? Any way thanks for the info on proteins, I thought I hadn't been getting enough but I'm landing in the 70-100grams range each day, now if I could figure out if this graph means I'm not eating enough calories or what...I'm really trying not to eat back calories From working out

Well said Kathy... and the calorie requirements shift as you lose/ activity increases or decreases.... As an aside does anyone remember how much protein their docs said they should be getting each day?

Great work! I like seeing everyone's plans laid out, it's inspiring I'll have to try that clear protein drink- I'm having trouble getting all the protein in I need.... I got 1 lb off this past week... baby steps, but I will take it! Especially after a quincenera on Saturday and going to see lady antebellum on Sunday.... lots off bad food opportunities there... I did cave and had a beer at the concert and a glass of wine at dinner with the girls.... I knew I shouldn't but I did. All part of life, as long as everyday doesn't get treated as a special occasion I'll be ok... my total down since joining this thread is is 6lbs, so now I'm at 232 . This week I've scheduled a fitmill class on Tuesday/ Thursday/Sunday and spin classes on wed and Friday....my food intake is still hovering about 1600 calories (except last Sunday with the drinks at the concert)... I will say i am feeling better and my mood is generally improved... I hope that getting active this week and eating within my calories will help me get through the stall I expect will happen this week or next...keep you posted

I don't know my bougie size, I suppose I could have the surgeon check his records. But honestly I don't think it has much to do with my regain if anything. I can tell you I have not had vsg related complications..... my regain has everything to do with depression resulting from loss and subsequently making poor food and behavior choices.... as a result of pregnancy I experienced a lessening of restriction, but not a full return to pre-op conditions...I am down 5lbs from last week... my caloric intake is hovering around 1600/day and I am focusing on home cooked (by me!) meals and no alcohol, I've come under my protein needs each day, and over on carbs, so still need to make some tweaks there....the 2 hikes on sun/mon still have me sore so I haven't worked out since-- I plan to go to the gym tomorrow...stay with it everyone, and keep up the effort! It's doable! Just keep checking in I'm really looking forward to keeping this thread active!

I'm with you all! Dealing with regain due to some highs and lows which resulted in a return to poor eating habits- snacking/grazing/ bigger portions/ less quality choices/being passive and not paying any attention to what I eat/ drink. Plus increased wine drinking and less exercise. After a few false starts I began in earnest last week, and have been doing well: no wine & making good food choices... did a hike up to potato chip rock here in SD on Saturday and a shorter easier one today.... I was skimming a size 10/12 at my lowest and I'd like to get back to a comfy size 12 which I feel like I could reasonably maintain... anyway I look forward to supporting everyone and benefiting from the same

Where are the June 2013 sleeves now?

I'm here... I'm also curious how everyone is doing? I've regained some weight, partially due to poor eating reentering my life and partially due to struggles after 2 miscarriages.... I am hoping to get back down.... I have a 5k on Sunday...How is every one else nearly 4 years out from our surgeries?
  9. Checking in for accountability-- been using the gym membership and cooking clean, and having my Protein shakes. A little struggle with avoiding some bad Snacks, but improving. CW: 225.5 Goal for this week- before I say yes to a bad snack drink 4 oz of water so the craving passes. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I should mention I know it a 12 week challenge, but I'm planning on making it a reset year for myself Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I'm in sleeved June 2013 Weight @ surgery 297 Lowest weight 190 Goal weight 175 Current weight 231.7 Height 5'9" Goal pant size 10/12 Lowest pant size 10 My plan is to go back to at least 1 Protein shake a day, increase Water intake, increase veggies, stay away from my slider foods, no added sugar and limit wine to truly special occasions. Got a new gym membership so I'll be hitting the gym at least 4 times during the work week (2 spin classes/ 2 body pump classes). Weekends it'll be outdoor activities bike riding, SUP or walking. I'll be using Fitbit and MFP for tracking purposes. I've set up mini goals for the year: 1) Feb: get into my new red dress for Valentine's Day ( it was too tight to wear for my company's xmas party!) 2) April: beat my time from last year for the Carlsbad 5k 3) June: be @ my wedding day weight of 204 by our 1 year anniversary 4) August: Complete a 5k distance entirely by jogging/ running (without stopping to walk) 5) October: Beat my overall time at the Esprit de She sprint triathlon. Did a 14 mile hill bike ride today so I'm feeling really good and I know with a little planning and a lot of commitment we can all get back on track with our goals. 13. I'm in-- I'm 3.5 years out, and after the ups and downs of the last 2 years I'm up 35 lbs from my lowest PO weight. I'm getting mentally prepared now, but I am back to the boards because I realize I need some support and a kick in the rear!

  17. Hi this may be tmi, so let me apologize now but this is the ladies room right? My surgery was 6/26/13 and it triggered my period no biggie I was too loaded on anesthesia effects to notice any change....fast forward to a month later and my first "real" post op period and I'm noticing I'm much much more exhausted from it then any period I can recall preop...I've mostly stayed in bed all weekend (which is unusual for me) Do you ladies have any good food suggestions that I could incorporate in the future in the week leading up to and the week of to help increase my energy levels during my time of the month? Vitamin suggestions? What works for you?

Maybe i am the only one

I hear you, I'm new here myself and regularly find myself biting my tongue.. I don't know why but that kind of thing always toasts my Cookies, probably bc I hate seeing it in the real world let alone in a "support forum" Normally I just scroll on by .. and repeat this mantra "haters gonna hate, naysayers gonna nay say" I don't know why but that saying always makes me giggle again..try it out

    JUNE 2013 Sleevers?

I'm down 35lbs Start daily @ 6am with a Protein shake that I mix w/ part hot Water part cold milk and a fat free hot choc packet...it's replaced my morning coffees... Mid morning @10 I have 1 scrambled egg and 1 slice of turkey bacon crumbled in After I work out (which is 60 min- 90 min beach walk) I have 5.5 oz can of low sodium v8 Other than that I rotate between 3oz of the following at lunch/dinner grilled salmon, chicken or ground turkey... I've been trying to add in a bit of mushed veggies: broccoli, carrots zucchini, black Beans or mushrooms, to round out the meals. I augment with greek yogurt/ applesauce and spices to make sauces. I cook from the hip, so I just play with things..I track on Mfp and log daily ...I'm averaging 500-800 calories and consistently hitting 50g of protein now.. Still struggle to get all my h2o..I drink mostly plain water, propel zero, or decaffeinated tea I go back to work tomorrow...so my schedule will change...
