I just found out something today! I've been frustrated with this "stall" and called the doctors office. While my mom said, since seeing pics of me today, that I look like I'm turning into a different version of me, and to relax it will all catch up. to which I replied...RELAX...ME!!!! HA!!! Well, the nutritionist said I am not eating enough calories! HMMMM, no one has EVER told me I'm NOT eating ENOUGH!!! I backed up, sat down and said, you have the list in front of you of what I am trying to eat and I can never eat the whole portion...she stated I needed some good calories, like a spoon of nut butter, or banana in my protein...and up the calories a bit to boost the metabolism. Who knew that I would NOT be eating enough!!! I'm just stunned! My mom said she can see that I am losing inches, and the RELAX comment is really sticking in my head! Plus the nutritionist said ONLY weigh myself ONCE a WEEK, NOT every day or it will consume your mind! I said too late for that piece of genious!!! Too late lady!!! lol...well I feel better now! Have a blessed night!

I am sorry he does not understand. Is it possible to take him with you to a dr. or nutritionist appt. My husband was against the surgery until our family doctor spoke to him about how I needed it.
Change is hard for others. Keep up your good work and once you are at goal, hopefully it will be easier.

July 17 I was sleeved. Have lost about 30 lbs - about 4 Pre-op. it doesn't really show yet. I guess it is because I have 100+ to drop. I went shopping with my daughter last week and it willbe a long time before I am in "normal" clothes. Slow and steady...every day is progress. I keep telling myself how much work it is to drop 30 lbs!

So when I went to the surgeon I was 447 (6'1). When I went for my 2 week pre op visit I was 428. Started my 2 week pre op diet and was 409 the day of surgery (7/18/13). Today 3 weeks post op I am 378 pounds. First 50 pounds off from pre op diet till today.
    I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my sleeve!!!!
I really wish I did this in my twenties, but at 33 I will be healthy by 35!!!

Chew slower, take more time between bites, concentrate harder on the flavors, savor the moment. Don't talk while eating, don't be distracted. It's the enjoyment you are after, not volume.

I went to my first yoga class today, firstly I was thrilled that I could follow along somewhat successfully. More so however it was the first time I ever felt comfortable being in an exercise class. I was able to focus on the yoga and not obsess about how fat I was and how I didn't fit in. It was an amazing class and I will be going back tomorrow

Sorry about ur situation but u r doing this for u so u don't need anyone elses approval - and u will get there, with or without ur family's help, because u have support of everyone else, including all of us :-) Give urself permission to be weepy, it's a physical reaction due to all the changes ur body is going thru.
Sometimes people just don't get what has actually happened to us. My friend, who is neither mean nor stupid, turned up to see me a week post op with a box of chocs and a box of sugar frosted fruits! As she handed me them, before I could say a word, I could see by her face that she just hadn't thought until that moment. She explained that these were her default gifts for visiting sick people and she was sooooo embarrassed but I laughed as I appreciated the sentiment behind the gift. I gave them away to the next visitors who came by...
How we react to negative situations is up to us. Just dont waste ur time on people who don't care enough to deserve to have a say in ur life. Good luck!

Wow, sounds about as sensitive as my in-laws! LOL So sorry you had to go through that. I'd just toss the chocolates and move on. It's usually difficult for people this insensitive to grasp that what they're doing is not okay.

I wasn't emotional, but if someone gave me chocolates I would have gone postal and threw them in the trash in front of them. Seriously? What was she thinking? So rude and thoughtless.

I think you might be right. I had a complete hysterectomy in my 30's i think i cried or screamed out every hormone I had in the next 10-15 years. I've got nothing left.
