  1. I just finished a Jay Robb orange...like a creamsicle. I also like the pina colada flavor, but not as good.

My all time favorite is Chocorite - Peanut Butter & chocolate and also the Cappuccino - very good.

Click is also good for an iced coffee experience. I tried java pro but that is really a strong coffee flavor, even when I only use half, and not whey Protein. I have been combining one scoop with a scoop of vanilla Isopure, that is OK until I use it up.

Also, I really like Matrix strawberry cream.

  2. My mom scheduled our Mother's Day lunch at a buffet lol. I am about 5 weeks post op. And she is doing her six months pre-op plan with a nutritionist.

I'm not super upset or anything it's just like ... Sigh. food as part of events is one of my bigger worries going forward I guess. Let's do lunch or let's go have a drink, everything seems to revolve around food. I can still stay on track but I don't want to talk about my food choices with every person and people probably will comment if I'm eating two bites of something.

My family scheduled my mom's 80th birthday celebration when I was 10 days post op at an Italian restaurant! I did ok. Just took a bite of some ricotta for an appetizer and then had the broth Only in the tortellini Soup. You I'll find you can work your way around most meals. 0pizza and Pasta are the only challenge for me if nothing else is available. You will do fine and don't worry about wasting did or money. Your health comes first!

  3. Chocolite Peanut Butter chocolate is the best in my opinion. I get it at Bariatic choice. Let me know if you want a referral code for 20% off.

I also really like Matrix strawberry (and their unflavored is really great at 40 calories a scoop) - also at Bariatric Choice.

GNC Cookies and Cream is good, too.

I have several flavors that I try different ones every day. I love my shakes with unsweetened almond milk and ice in my nutribullet.

  4. Try some of the clear Protein drinks.

GNC has a really good Protein coconut Water out now - Cocotein.

Isopure clear protein is great and got me through those first couple of weeks. Lots of flavors - and Amazon will deliver a case for you for free.

powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury has a good strawberry sorbet which is better when you mix it with a pack of Crystal Light lemonade.

Some of the Matrix fruit flavors are good too...

Whey 2 Go - 50 calorie protein Water packet. Available on Amazon

Hope some of these help...hang in there! I love my Protein Drinks. I miss it when I don't have one in the morning.

    Make me an offer...

  6. 9 months out.. Have a Protein Shake for Breakfast every morning. I love them and I feel better when I start the day with one. Scrambled eggs, egg whites, Unjury cheese sauce, ground beef, steak, chicken, lamb, cheese sticks, nuts, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, apples cut up a little at a time, bananas, grapes. Quest bars Mostly Protein, few complete carbs (maybe a bite of bread or noodles). A couple protein biscotti is the most I will do. Still working in salads but my surgeon said I should be able to eat them so I am doing a little more each time and happy it is going well!

  7. I have only had one person comment and she was problem trying to find out if I had surgery.

After a few months you can eat more anyway, so it is a small amount, but not something to really comment about. In the beginning a few people wondered why I ate only the Protein from my salad (lettuce was still hard for me). It is odd to be on a diet and not eat salad....but I just said I was fine and that was the end of it!

  8. Thanks...I am thinking I need to talk to my doctor or the surgeon. It's a good idea not to wait too long.

This is normal! When I hit about 9 months out I started experiencing some depression and anxiety. I tried dealing with it on my own and couldn't control it. My surgeon set me up an appointment with their therapist. This has helpped a bunch. I did find that excerise helps keep it fairly controlled! My advice is don't wait to get it in control! I unfortunately waited till I hit rock bottom! Now, life is almost back to normalwithout any meds! Good luck!

  9. Thanks for the advice on the therapist and exercise - and even the birth control...maybe I can try that now that I am over 50! LOL! Exercise was helping...but I exercised for an hour last night...maybe today is just a bad day. I need to get a good night's sleep!

  10. Thanks for your reply....I've heard some sleevers talk about hormones being released and I am just wondering if this is part of it. I am also wondering what I can do to make this easier (something other than meds...). Exercise? Meditation?

  11. Has anyone felt like they were just "losing it" emotionally? I have a lot of changes right now on my life on top of the VSG ... And there are times that I just want to cry . I wish this would stop...and I can't tell if the physical changes are part of this.

  12. If you don't like your NUT get another one. I really didn't like my first one. Didn't know much about food options and told me that I would be starving myself on this diet after surgery. (and also seemed to relish in the little plate she showed me I should eat off of for the rest of my life!). I saw a different one and she was wonderful! Like night and day. Spent 90 minutes with me. Talked about lots of alternatives and went over what I was eating and how to improve. Very understanding. She even picked up right away that I had sleep apnea which my doctor completely missed.
