Elevated heart rate post surgery?
OK.....Rule number one: Medical questions should always be directed to your DOC. And sooner rather then later. Rule number two: Heart issues head the list of most important. Rule number three: Refer to rule numbers one and two. Nuf said.

Newbie Here
Hey there Newbie Tina. I'll start it off with a few tidbits. First of all. Fear usually stems from the unknown. & Knowledge is power. And with that you can belay those fears and gain that knowledge right here. To find the answers to just about any question that can be imagined, just do a Search. If you still need some reassurance....ask away and someone.......probably a lot of someones......will help you with any questions you might have.

Sipping while exercising?
I was gonna write something.....but @JamieLogical post sums it up.... Oh, practicing sipping pre-op is pointless.....it won't be the same as after surgery. That will be automatic.....

Everything hurts!
One of the great things about today's medical procedures is................THE DRUGS...... Never understood why anyone would struggle through agonizing pain and not simply ask for more powerful meds. There is no reason to be in pain. If it hurts.....ask for something stronger. If you don't want to use stronger pain meds ....... then I got nothing.

Freaking out
Relax.....focusing on a measly one pound will drive you nuts. Focusing on constantly weighing yourself will drive you nuts too....... I mean.........water weighs 8 lbs a gallon. And you are supposed to drink lots and lots of Water. One thing you can count on from us Vets....we got the benefit of "time" to relate to. So.....all you gotta do is stick with the program and give it some time. (and stay away from that scale.)

The BEST feeling in the world post op!
My best feeling was waking up after surgery and knowing It actually happened. That I finally had something that would help me to permanently win against my life-long battle. My best feeling Ok, I can see where this is going......I was starting to add another one and I realized I have so many, this could go on and on and on. They all just feel so great. So, I'll leave it at one....besides everyone else's best will probably ring a bell for me too.......

Blood thinners
Clots are not something to casually disregard. Enough docs opt for blood thinners to indicate it's importance. Sometimes you just have to be your own advocate and need to ask your Doc about your concerns. If he doesn't think you need prescribed thinners, then maybe just baby aspirin. Once of prevention. Hey. doesn't hurt to ask. Couldn't leave it at that without throwing in another tidbit. I have had several surgeries. Lots. And every single time I was given Lovenox post-op. Furthermore with almost all my surgeries, the main complication I heard about was DVT's, PE's, or clots. And they were very serious complications. Thankfully, I had none. Just saying.

My rant for the day.
Ok, You're in a crowded building and head for the only doors and the person in front of you bumps into someone they know coming in.......and then they both stand in the doorway completely blocking it while they catch up on the last 15 years....oblivious to the hundreds of others wanting to enter or exit........HELLO....people who think they are the only ones on the planet.......

I found a product that helps hide the appearance of hair loss!
ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1462568051.108265.jpg I got that too! Yep, that certainly works.....very nice.

Prediabetic postop?
When I was in the hospital for my WLS, they wouldn't release me cause my tests indicated the same thing. I made them do the test over two more times which came back normal. I wouldn't get worked up about it. Probably just a skewed test. Wait a while and redo the test or as @@KristenLe said above......get further tests done.

Cerviche

What kind of results are people getting...
This is BS.......Nobody gets weight loss surgery to lose 36 pounds. Something is fishy here.

If you only knew how many times my Dr's office screwed up things.......but.......here I am......surgery done....all weight lost....and doing great.....and it all seems like it happened so fast..... Calm down, snafus happen......it'll all get sorted out and pretty soon you'll be living the life too......wondering where the time went..... Here's something to think about.....

A step in the right direction!
When it comes to medical issues, you should always follow due diligence and be comfortable when making a choice. I was lucky with my Weight loss center. It was the first one I checked into and was fantastic. However, with my knee replacements, I went to five Surgeons before I decided. That effort was worth it as my results were great. Take your time and don't settle. Be sure. Good luck.

One week until the big day!
Hence the "search" button........just kidding....no, really.....the search would be the best way. There are thousands of posts regarding tips and valuable info....that are a shame to have just fade into obscurity. Search them out. Besides, there are thousands of tips......just too many to remember or generalize in a post. If you have something specific to inquire about....fire away. Good luck with your journey.

My rant for the day.
I can add to that........If I end up leaving the doctors office without paying the co-pay....I snicker to myself like I won some kind of challenge.........But then later, I get all irritated when a statement shows up in the mail with a bill for the missed co-pay. Yep.....guess I'm one of those people......

Why do people regain
I used to say to people that I could eat 1/2 pound of food and gain a pound. The biggest loser thing is nothing new to me. I kinda knew it all along. And if you apply it over a lifetime.....well, think about it........ You start off losing a bunch of weight real quick......so according to the new findings, your metabolism slows down...permanently ..then, of course you gain it all back. However, now you have that permanently slowed down metabolism working against you.......making you gain more with less food. A couple of years later, you go on another diet and lose alot of weight again....also really fast.....and further slow your already slow metabolism..........and yo and yo and yo....... get the idea now. Every time you lose you slow you metabolism down further. It's a exponentially increasing formula for failure and weight gain. So do I give up.?? No. My only shot is to obtain some restriction to limit food intake which will involuntarily counteract the bad habits, which developed over a lifetime of yo- yo dieting and gaining, mostly as a result of the metabolism thingy. Hey.....whatever it is....it is. It's all history now and whatever I gotta do to keep it off.....I'll suffer through it . Besides......with the help of my sleeve restriction, I still believe my brain is in charge and I can defeat that metabolism thingy. Or at best keep it in check.
