  1. I have been on the phone with many diff doctors since I posted & they want to send me in for a doppler on my legs. I just can't get in till tomorrow or Monday unless I go thru emergency. I don't think it's a blood clot so not too worried. Even the doc never heard of what I am experiencing. Only me!
  2. My husband has been helping me up & down on the lousy soft low couch we have & each time he touches my legs, they hurt as if there are pins & needles being stuck in my legs. I did the search bar looking for leg pain but no one has described what my legs feel like? Has anyone else gone thru this?? If so, what is it? I should walk more & will do so right now....how much walking do you suggest? Each time I get up to go to the bathroom or kitchen or whatever, I take a few laps around my house but then I'm back on my couch. I don't like being a couch potato either but my meds make me sleepy & weak so I just want to sleep my incision pains away. Any suggestions or theory on my pins & needles legs?
  3. My doc prescribed anti-nausea meds for me because I can't take any pain killer without it making me want to barf it up. Don't know if you're talking about when you take your pain meds or when you're eating? The anti-nausea meds really help me swallow & keep my pain med down tho. Good luck to you...it's not a good feeling at all wanting to barf up anything that went down. :-(
  4. Thank you all so much for your heartfelt support. Yes, I need to sip more Water. I think I only got a total of 16 oz in yesterday. I will try harder today. I did get 30 grams of Protein thru my one Premiere Protein shake but since it's liquid, does that could towards 'liquids' too? If so, that was another 11 oz I got in yesterday. Plus a popsicle. I have to share this....what I find is funny is that everytime I sleep, I've been having dreams of EATING! LOL! I was just napping & in my dream I was having some almond flavored cake shaped like sea shells. Haha! I'm not even dreaming of eating cake in real life. Gimme Pasta or chicken parm or steak with pesto sauce slathered all over it! Enjoyed all your messages...thank you so much for caring enough to respond. xoxo
  5. Is that what's supposed to happen? I like the part about no more pain ~ yay for you!!
  6. I had surgery on Tuesday & today is Thursday. How long before I don't feel like a mac truck ran over me twice? I have a lousy couch & need help getting up from it & trying to walk around the house to keep from getting a blood clot & I get light headed/dizzy. I also feel hungry. I've had 2 Protein drinks so far today (60 grms of protein total) but my Water is a totally diff story. I'm lucky if I've gotten 8 oz in. What's your water secret? Right now I feel like I'm a burden on my family. Last night I couldn't get comfortable so I kept roaming the house trying to find someplace comfy to sleep. I ended up downstairs on a recliner & my oldest son stayed with me (which made me feel bad cause he had to work today). Today my poor husband has been feeding me my meds & helping me up & down from the couch since my incisions hurt depending how I move. I guess I'm used to doing for my family instead of them helping me so this doesn't feel right. But on a good note, I've lost 19 lbs between the pre-op & since surgery. That's the only bright light in my day right now. :-(
  7. Getting ready to leave. Please say a prayer for me.
  8. Wonderful sentiments from both you lovely ladies. Thank you. Can't tell you what your support means to me. I'm going to sleep now & maybe dream about all the activities I'll be able to do once I drop some of this weight that holds me back from living life!
  9. What a wonderful feeling that must be! Congratulations & enjoy that MEDIUM sized summer dress!
  10. I'm going to be sleeved in about 12 hours (give or take a few minutes) & am a little nervous. Just thinking if there could be complications? Or if I fail at this? I'm also afraid of Water hurting me because I love water. I also hate taking my wedding rings off to leave them behind (because hospital says "no jewelry allowed" ~ for my own protection of course). They've been on my finger for more than 19 years now. I hate the thought of sleeping in a strange bed. I hate the thought of my husband not being by my side when I have to stay in the hospital until I get released...or my youngest son crawling in my bed in the morning waking me up with a kiss & letting me know he wants to snuggle a bit. As I was packing my bag for the hospital, my youngest came in & kissed a stuffed penguin he gave me last year & then put it in my bag. He told me to take the penguin out & feel his kiss on my face each time I look at it. I miss him already & he's just upstairs sleeping in his bed! He is my autistic son, but he has more love in his heart than my non special needs son! I don't know why I'm nervous...I'm thinking that this procedure & new way of life will give me more time with my children on earth. Good enough reason, right? I'm still nervous. Thanks for listening.
  11. Awesome!! Congratulations!
  12. Wishing you all the best on your biopsy Kellie.
  13. Being that I haven't been sleeved yet (coming up on Tuesday), all I can say is the first thing you should do is own up to whatever you've been doing (which you have admitted here), pick yourself up & move on. Please call your NUT & make an appt as soon as possible. Get back on track. You went thru so much having this surgery, please don't just throw in the towel due to a few weak choices. Pick yourself up & move on. You can do this! Look at how much you've already lost! I know you can do it, so please, be good to yourself...you deserve it! Edited to add, do they have support group meetings you can attend? I've already gone to several support group meetings being pre-op, but the next time I go, I will be post-op. Those REALLY help! Step away from the evil Zebra cakes!
  14. OMGosh....I've never heard of that, but I wish you the best! Sending you healing vibes!
  15. I'm right behind you as my surgery is on Tuesday! I'm feeling all the same emotions. Sounds like you're a very busy mom too! Hope you have some help when you return home! I have an 18 & 11 y/o sons as well a 4 month old puppy we just brought home on the 4th of July! Really bad timing but whatever will be, will be! Good luck to you!!
  16. And...this is the BEST part, besides the beautiful AFTER pic! Thanks for sharing!
  17. Of course they want to make money. WLS is basically a money maker for hospitals anyway. I am also using Premiere Protein. They want you to use their shakes pre-op....but post-op they had no problem with Protein drinks from other sources, as long as you meet your protein goal. I was wondering if full liquids would be too much at first. The first day I'll be on clear liquids but after that I can go to full. I will be sitting on the fence to see which I can tolerate the best the first few days. Congrats on your weight loss! Looks like you're doing great for being 3 months out!
  18. That's why I switched hospitals. Very scary!
  19. Some of you may remember that I had gone thru one hospital's bariatric program but then was disillusioned when I went to meet the surgeon because the clinic attached to the hospital was filthy? Anyway, I switched to another hospital program about 20 miles away & the differences have been amazing! Just for the pre-op diet alone, the "dirty hospital" required a pre-op 2 week liquid diet. The current hospital program I'm going thru requires a 2 week pre-op Protein shakes + 1 meal diet. It even allows me to have 1 fruit, as well as unlimited veggies all day long if I'm hungry! Yahhoooo!!!! I think I picked the best hospital program to go thru! Even tho I get to eat dinner, I still have lost 8 lbs in 7 days. Probably those who are on only liquids lose more in a week but I have another 5 days to go till surgery so I will lose a bit more before then. Another difference is the "dirty hospital" allowed you to drink store bought Protein Shakes like Premier Protein, etc..but my current hospital program requires you to drink their shakes, which can be costly. I had told them I already purchased a case of Premier Protein from costco & they said I can have one of those per day along with their shakes the rest of Meal Replacements. Also, for the post-op part of it, the "dirty hospital" required (I believe) 1 week Clear Liquids but the current hospital does full liquids post op. I'm just really amazed at the differences between 2 hospitals/doctors only miles apart! I would have never known the difference if I had stuck with one hospital. Just thought I'd share what I've learned in the differences in two local surgeons & hospitals here in the Detroit area.
  20. I don't have the will nor the strength to deal with negativity, so I've kept this decision quiet, except for my husband (of course), my 1 aunt who lives out of state & 2 close friends who also live out of state. At the last minute, I decided to tell my one neighbor (who doesn't speak to any of the other neighbors) because I have an autistic son & in case I need help, I had to have someone else who is local, know that I was having this done. That's it. My aunt wasn't too pleased at first but she has at least stopped the negative talk & is wishing me well & is being supportive. Whew! Good luck to you & if you're still getting negativity, & I would just stop telling people. That's just my opinion. All the best!
  21. You may have already gone in but wishing you well! I'm going in a week from tomorrow & I am nervous as well as anxious!
  22. Your recipe sounds delish! I may just try that too! I love all veggies but I think my favorites are broccoli & spinach. I just steam my broccoli in some lightly salted Water & then drain, place in a bowl & drizzle some EVOO on it. That's it & it's delish! Spinach, I like to mince some garlic in EVOO in a pan & just heat it enough where the garlic scent releases & then quickly add spinach to it & sautee it till it wilts with just a sprinkle of salt & pepper. I love to serve that on top of a fried egg too, but also just have it as a side dish. OH! Also zucchini sliced long ways & marinated in Light Italian Dressing (any brand) & then grill! OMG, so delish! BTW, I'm not sleeved yet! Hope I can still eat all that stuff after!
  23. Your post broke my heart because I have an autistic son & I truly understand what you mean by your child being hysterical that you weren't going home. My son will be the same way. He still doesn't know I'm going into the hospital (in less than 2 weeks) & I just don't know how to even tell him but I'm not telling him I'm having weight loss surgery. I'm trying to think of something to say to him. I don't know what to say or do to help you but I can pray for you & know that all these lovely people that posted before me, are thinking of you as well. (((Hugs)))
  24. I need to copy this page for when I surely get there myself & wonder what I can do to break a stall! Good for you!!
  25. I just bought one too & have no idea what to do with it! I guess I should google some recipes. I start my 2 week pre-op shakes on Tuesday, July 2nd. HELP!!! I already know this is going to be a tough challenge!
