  1. what kind of protein shakes do you do?
  2. No, I'm on day 16 post op and still have pain everyday. When I bend or get over tired I get burning and pain in my upper right quad above my top incision.
  3. I was on soft foods 2 days after surgery...I just don't know what to eat...and I am so sick of Milk based protein drinks. I only got 1 in today....They are starting to make my stomach feel sick!
  4. My nephew and his wife live in Orange! Good luck to you, I'm sure we will talk again at some point!
  5. That is very encouraging...I am 11 days post op and I am planning to go back to work tomorrow. I teach kindergarten. I also have another teacher with me that will be a big help. I too live in VA. What city do you live in? I live in the Hampton Roads Area.
  6. I figure you have to do 8- 8oz glasses a day. My first 8oz is my protein. Then I do breakfast. I drink 2 more 8oz before lunch. After I wait for 30 minutes I will drink 16 oz water with Crystal light. Around 3 or 4 I have another 8oz protein drink. After dinner and my wait..I will have a cup of Chicken broth. The rest of the evening I will have sugar free Popsicle and some jello or some more chicken broth(that feels good going down) And that there is 64ozs!
  7. I didn't have a leak test outside the operating room. I also had no drain tubes or anything. I think it is really weird how we all are having the same surgery and so many different things and procedures are done. Makes you wonder!
  8. I would too! Every surgeon and nut seems to be a little different
  9. Well it is only about an ounce but it will satisfy you
  10. refried beans is very high in protein. My tummy loves those the best. I put a little cheese and microwave it so it smushy and 25-30 sec. and then put a very little bit of ff sour cream. It is so good and high in protein. Not many calories...about 60
  11. You know my doctor put me on clear liquids in the hospital for 2 days and then on day 3 when I was going home my breakfast was an egg and lunch was really chopped chicken with ff mayo and a canned unsweetened pear. Of course I didn't want it but since I have been home I eat cottage cheese, tuna, ff refried beans and stuff like that. I wonder why we have different diets?
  12. You know I had the same feelings with my emotions and is sucks. The first few days were a little hard for me. I think I was struggling with head hunger and my love affair with food. You will grieve for food. If you were like me I use to live to eat! We have to get in the mind set they we are now eating to live. Just take it day by day. We are going to be looking and feeling so good! I will pray for you. I cried for two days...We can do it!
  13. I am 10 days post op and I still have bad pain in the top of my stomach. I guess you would say near my right ribs. Sometimes the pain really hurts bad. Not able to sleep on my side yet. Do you have that pain? I don't see my Doc till Wed. I called and they said that is normal. I haven't heard of anyone else with that complain.
  14. children's Tylenol has way too much sugar
  15. I am gradually adding mine each day. I am taking my multi and B12 right now. I will add the calcium and gall bladder pills in a few days. I just need a moment, you know?
  16. Praying for a smooth recovery
  17. Praying for a smooth recovery
  18. Yeah, way too much sugar. Just crush the Tylenol and take it with a spoon full of unsweetened applesauce
  19. I pretty much don't sleep that much during the night. Can't quite get comfortable. It is getting a little better.
  20. Me either and I am 9 days out...What protein are you doing? Do you still have pain. I have pain in my upper part near my top incision.
  21. I have had a good cry myself...it is a big adjustment. We just have to keep looking at the big picture. I am 1 week out today and this has been a much better day! Hang in there!
  22. I burp alot too...the gas came when I got home. Boy that feels good! lol
  23. Keep it going....how many incisions did you have? My top still really hurts.
  24. Ok, I think my surgeon put something back together wrong. My top incision feels like it is connected to something it shouldn't be. Everything else feels ok.
  25. When do you get your energy back? I will be 1 week out tomorrow. Just taking a shower zaps me. I've been trying to walk each day, I'm not getting my protein in yet, the Doc told me just to worry about the fluids right now that protein will come. I don't know. I think I'm a little down with the blues too.
