    My Fitness Pal

Sent adds to y'all... Computer wigged out a little so some didn't get a note, but I'm not a creepy internet stalker... :-)

BADB0Y... The "O" is a zero. I've been bad about logging lately, could use the nagging... I mean support.
  5. That's not a bad plan. I use the Blender Bottle shakers, and I keep 3-4 different Proteins around so I can have variety. It doesn't matter if you make the tastiest shake on Earth, after a bunch of them in a row you are going to be sick of them! Right now I have: Cookies-N-Creme, strawberry smoothie, chocolate Peanut Butter, and Fruit Punch. I switch them out all the time. I am trying to figure out a good Breakfast shake though... They all are a little too rich for first thing in the morning.
  6. Welcome and good luck on the adventure!

    Gnc Irony

See, I had the exact opposite feeling at the Vitamin Shoppe I went into as I was prepping for surgery. They were rude & condescending at three different stores I went to. One of them even had the gall to mention I was "Taking the easy way out". I do realize that it varies from location to location, but that experience really soured me on the brand.
  8. Congrats on your decision! My insurance treated the pysch eval as any other doctor visit, so it was just the office visit copay. My psychologist also did a test that I had to pay for the service to score (like the old #2 pencil scantrons in school), but not all do that. The nutritionist was part of the Weight Loss Program at the hospital I went to, and was included in the costs.

    LIQUID DIET SUCKS!

[quote name=holidayexpressions' timestamp='1375441120' post='933300] Well day two of the liquid diet. Day 1 sucked beyond belief. Was fine until about 6pm last night. Had the worst migraine ever so that was no fun. Up at 5:45 to go to work for a 24 hour shift. We will see how this goes.... I experienced this as well. It was caused by lack of caffeine, since I'd been running on it for years. Thankfully I can have unsweet tea again!

For my multi, I use the generic chewable from CVS (Centrum One-A-Day copy I think), it's super cheap (around $7), doesn't taste horrible, and I can get if BOGO every few weeks (like next week). My B12 is the Spring Valley sublingual from WalMart (best taste and price so far). I do use the Bariatric Advantage Calcium chews.
  11. There is a drastic difference in taste in protein powders. Which one are you using? You also should be able (different Docs, diff rules) to mix in somethings to help with the flavor (banana, PB, etc).
  12. You have to have fun with things, or it all gets too serious to take!

Spring Valley... I think it's their house brand. I buy the 500mcg/200 tab bottle.

  16. I didn't have any issues either. My eval was focused on making sure I was prepared for the changes coming, and had the mindset to make the needed lifestyle changes.

    Dallas, Texas Sleevers! !

So far, through conversation, I've discovered that every doctor's diet is a little different. Mine had me on liquids for one week prior (1-2 weeks depending on BMI). It was pretty much whatever liquid (sugar free of course) up to 48hrs before surgery. Then clear only. That's about it. I also was back on small portions of real food at starting at 2 weeks and added certain things until 8 weeks. At 8 weeks it was whatever I could handle.

    Camping food...

So I am about to be working the NASCAR event at Texas Motor Speedway and camping out for a week. I will be about 3.5 weeks out from surgery, so still kind of limited. It will just be me, so firing up a grill and stuff is pointless. Any suggestions on things to pack that are safe to eat at this point?

    Camping food...

The problem is I will be by myself, so cooking is impractical. Normally I woukd have pack sandwich fixings, but I am still on a restricted diet for weeks 2-6. Thays where u am hittibg snags.

Not the Jello brand, they require refrigeration. You have to go to the Hunt's or the store brand for shelf stable. I have a good supply of those already.
