  1. I was really sick after surgery and I needed someone to stay with me. I would definitely recommend having someone stay with you.

    Water Consumption

I was sleeved 9-23 and I still can't get in all my water. I'm back at work and I can't drink while I do the main part of my work (testing kids). I don't WANT to drink a ton of water after I get home because I have trouble sleeping as it is and I don't want to be up several times at night peeing.
  3. Are you doing self-pay? I've cussed BCBS through the years, but I have to say I'm glad I had it. I got a letter from CMMC that said, "Your insurance was billed and paid $54,000 and some odd dollars." It still left me with an $800+ bill in addition to the $3,000- $4,000 I've already spent out of my own pocket. My poor bank account is depleted. I had to set up a payment plan for that bill from CMMC. I couldn't pay it all at once.
  4. How did your surgery go? I hope you're home, resting, and feeling no pain!

    Post sleeve nausae

I had severe post-op nausea too. I was dry heaving as I was waking up from the surgery and they kept having to give me nausea meds. I think it's a pretty common reaction to anesthesia.
  6. I'll finally get to see Dr. Cummins for the first time post-surgery on Thursday. I feel kind of like Transformations dropped the ball a little bit. I had surgery nearly a month ago and this will be my first post-op visit. I kind of feel like they just left me to fend for myself without any support. I hope Dr. Cummins or someone can help explain why I've only lost 9-10 pounds since I was sleeved when other people are losing 30 or more pounds in their first month.
  7. I have no energy and I'll be 3 weeks out tomorrow. I'm doing good to piddle around the house. Even taking a shower tires me out.
  8. I'll be three weeks tomorrow. I've only lost 10 pounds from my surgery day. I feel like I'm doing something wrong because I'm reading other numbers like 20-30 pounds lost already! I'm allowed pureed foods now and I'm trying to eat some pureed meats for protein, but I find I'm still getting most of my protein from shakes. Food doesn't sit too well in my stomach yet.

    Hiatal Hernia and the sleeve?

I had one and they repaired it. They said that might have contributed to the chest pains I had after surgery.

Dry heaves . After getting sleeved

I was dry heaving from the moment I started coming to from the anesthesia. It lasted for a few days. They kept giving me nausea medication.
  11. I always feel like the fattest person in the room. Every once in a while I see someone and wonder, "Is she bigger than me?" but, normally, I'm the biggest person. I'll be so glad to get to a relatively normal weight and not be the biggest person anymore. I don't know if my goal weight is realistic. At this point, I think I'd be happy just to get to onederland.
  12. So far, being at home, the diet hasn't been difficult to follow. I started pureed foods yesterday and it gave me the hiccups and I threw up. But I think the hard part will be when I go back to work and have to function in the real world. I'm away from my office more than I'm in it, so it's going to be hard for me to keep water and protein drinks on hand.
  13. I was supposed to see Dr. Cummins this week, but she's not coming in this week so I won't be able to see her until next week, almost a month after surgery. I was hoping to see her this week to get released to go back to work. I asked them about that and they said I'd have to wait to see my surgeon. I'm using all my sick leave, personal leave, and extended leave for this surgery. PS: How do you get a ticker to show up in your posts? I made one, but I don't know how to display it.
  14. Getting your weight to 199 or lower (at least that's what I understand it to be).
  15. The scale isn't moving for me. It's just stuck and has been for a week. It's really depressing because I'm only 2 weeks out from surgery and it seems like everyone else loses a ton of weight at first. I'm eating/drinking what I'm supposed to to get in my water and protein goals. I just don't understand why the scale won't budge.
