I must be super weird because I have tried the protein shakes from doctor's office (health wise) and syntax and my favorite is Adkins shakes. I can't stand the smell of the other two.

let me correct my posts
Nuchnuch replied to mommyflores79's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I am not sure if all insurance companies cover this but a lot of them cover plastic surgery for removing extra stomach skin, due to the health risk it has. My surgeon's office help you through the the insurance paperwork. Something to look into, if you haven't already. -
I think posting a pic of yourself is a personal preference, but as far as telling people, I know that there have been several people who work for the same company I do, I know they have had the surgery but want to blow it off to I am just following a really strict diet. I mean, to each his own, but when people have fought there weight all their life, including myself and then want to come off like all of a sudden they are the poster child for "will power" I think it is ridiculous IMHO.

I don't see where anyone is picking on her, simply asking about an update as to what/where she is. And she made it everyone's business when she came on here bragging about her faking an approval letter and I would suggest you research exactly what harassment is, because no one is hunting her down harassing her by simply once again asking about an update on her.

My first night home I dreamt I had ate French fries, I woke up scared to death until I realized it was a dream. WHEWEEEE!

I was sleeved on 5/15/2013 and I was 225. I got out and weighed on 5/20/2013 and was at 215.5...yahoo, I was very blessed! I have been walking 30 mins a day, getting more water in..not the 64 ounces, but more and working at getting more protein in, not nearly as much as I should. I woke up this morning and HOLY COW, I gained 2 pounds!!! What on earth happened?

Thank you thank you thank you! Unfortunately I am on full liquids at least until my next doctor's appointment which is June 6th, which unlike so many on here, yoghurt is not on my list of full liquids, so protein shakes, sf jello and sf popscicle s, with the occasional soup for me. It has not been that bad though!

What kind of popcicles?

Now I love pickles, but I don't know if I could stomach that :0)! -
What kind of popcicles?
Nuchnuch replied to heatwhip's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same luck with the popscicle choice, so I found a recipe online,,,,use 1 box of sugar free jello, 1 tub of crystal light and the 1 cup each of boiling water and regular water....I am trying this afternoon, cannot wait! -
A friend of mine had gastric and she is really pissing me off.
Nuchnuch replied to LipstickLady's topic in Rants & Raves
Not only is it a scam, but it is fraud. So all of the people, like we used to be who is looking for something that will help with their weight loss is going to be paying out money, they probably cannot afford for something that will once again not work! -
I would check with your surgeon to see if he would do a peer review with the insurance company, which basically your surgeon explains to them why you should have the surgery.

I have 4 weeks of full liquid

Yes, I had knee surgery at this same hospital and they did the same thing then...they wanted to make sure they get what they think the insurance won't pay. I went through Tennova which is affiliated with St. Mary's so may be why they ar the same.
-
I have BCBST and the doctor's office made me pay $1,500.00 which is supposed to be things which the insurance company won't pay and then the hospital made me pay the $500.00 they figured that the insurance wouldn't pay. That was all paid prior to surgery.

Sleeved May 15 and Regretting it
Nuchnuch replied to RainbowBrite26's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too was sleeved on May 15th and I am feeling great. I think it is important to try and make sure you try not to put yourself in situations which will tempt you, at least at this point. I can't imagine what it would be like to not have such a supportive family, but you need to find you people who will support you because this is one of the best things you could have done for yourself and your health. In time the extreme limitations will be gone and you will be able to figure out what you can and cannot have which will be the healthiest choices for you. I wish you luck and all the support!!! -
I bet a little low fat sour cream and a little hot sauce would be good....or keep the sour cream out all together and would be a great guacamole .....
-
I bet this would be great cooked in muffin tins..perfect portion size......and I think that cottage cheese would work good since you can interchange cottage cheese and ricotta in regular lasagna.

Where the May sleevers i just got my date!
Nuchnuch replied to Luvlvnlyfe5's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on May 15th..I can't believe I can actually say that. With reading some people's story, I was a little concerned, not enough to discourage me, just a little concerned. Was released from hospital Friday afternoon and the last time I took any pain meds since the morning I left the hospital. I sleep well, have worked up to walking 30 mins today and can even sleep on my stomach. Just a little hard getting all fluids and proteins in, but work real hard each and every day to improve. I have been truly blessed and pray every day for everyone on here! -
I got this idea from another blog, but I tweaked it a little. Would like to try get some Protein to add to it or use chicken protein soup I have......I used 1 cup of V8 juice, 1 cup of Chicken broth and a teaspoon of taco seasoning. I ate 1/2 cup...is delish

Nuchnuch replied to ccrim03's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used the hospital gown but brought a pair of pajama pants for a little modesty for walking. -
