Good Morning, 12 weeks post op for me, I am at 168 lbs, 38 pounds gone... feeling great, I been going to the gym 3 times a week, i had few stalls , I started loosing some hair last week but I know this is only temporarily, no regrets. Have a great day.

My official date of surgery is July 29th now. It was on the 22nd, but there was a little miscommunication between the scheduling clerk and the Dr. secretary. Its cool, I will still be in July. I have already given the Dr. my deposit and now I have to pay the hospital a percentage when I do my pre-op appointment. I am going to enjoy a wonderful forth of July weekend with my family filled with swimming, movies, food, and fireworks! Enjoy your 4th everyone! Any people in the Dallas,Texas area? I need a great cheerleader, and I will be a great cheerleader for you!

Hi Pamela. My name is Stephanie. I am hopefully going to be sleeved in July, as well. I had my first of four required "diet" visits on March 14. I am 5'4" and 235-240, so we're very very close in size. I am 45 and my husband and I reside in Texas. I will try to stay on here as much as possible so we can stay in touch with each other. My job is very demanding and stressful so I may miss a few days here and there, but I will eventually come back. I hope this is the beginning of a wonderful journey for you. . .for us. May the Lord keep you well before, during, and after you are sleeved.

Cmelose, I will be sending good thoughts and prayers your way. You are submitting earlier than you thought, aren't you? I think you will get a July date. I'm July 23rd. I'm starting my pre- op diet on the 7th too. We can commiserate!! I'm a little worried about it, but I know I just have to do it.

Sending good thoughts and prayers for all July sleevers. I am July 22. Starting pre-op diet July 8. I m lucky -- no all liquids, just high protein/low carb. The excitement just keeps going!

My Surgery will be JULY 24th,2013

Good Morning All,
I too have taken the journey that most of you are still in i.e. psychologist, nutritionist, egd, lab, letter of recommendation, two year history of weight, and attempts at weight loss. Currently I received my letter of approval from my insurance company (Aetna) and was given a date of July 25th in that letter, but it may be sooner. (paperwork submitted May 29th. Approval letter received June 15th) I have begun to prepare for the post op by purchasing Protein shakes, popcicles, etc. chewable Vitamins are in place, and now on the pre-op liquid diet to shrink the liver. I am SO Excited about the new journey and also nervous because I am that person that eats because I need comfort or just because I know it was there. I am 5'7 with a starting weight of 269. Current weight is 262 and that lost was just from the 3 month span of nutritional visits of which I was not required to lose any weight from. I began the process on January 18th 2013. It is a lengthy process, but if you are willing to stick with a major lifestyle change for a better you, then this for you! Some have told me that I actually did not have a very long process and I credit all of that to my surgeons insurance coordinator because I was very much informed about what my insurance required, and what I would need to have in order to get approved. I did what I was instructed and now I am just that much closer to where I want to be! I just want to encourage all of you to stick with it, not everyone will be on your side in this. (I learned that from experience) You have to choose not to listen to the Nay sayers and do what is best for you and your health. In the long run, I know that this will be a great decision for one because I am doing this for ME!!! Good luck to all of you in your endevours. I have my 4th & final Aetna required appt next Friday but my sleep study is on Monday & the results will take 7-10 days so my submission to Aetna won't even happen until probably July 3rd, at best. As long as I am approved, then it can wait til August, right? So, July is just around the corner & I want y'all to know that I am praying for your surgical teams & hospital staffing to give every one of you the best care & for rapid healing with successful outcomes. You girls rock! I am so proud of each of us for realizing that it's okay to ask for help. I know I can't do it on my own & the sleeve will give us the needed help to become healthy. I can't wait until this time next year when we are able to share our before & after pics! Yay!!!!

I won't know my exact date until end of June. Had my 2nd of 4 visits on the 18th & my 1st of 2 NUT visits. I was told not to lose any weight until after insurance approval since my BMI is @ 40.5 & I only have 1 instead of 2 Aetna co-morbidities. I have high blood pressure & high cholesterol & RA doesn't count. I am so happy to see our group grow. I live in Houston, Tx, how about y'all?

Hi again to everyone. I hope y`all had a happy Easter.
I have 2 pieces of good news. I had to meet & talk@ length with my surgeon last week. I have RA & several previous abdominal surgeries. He told me if I have a good endoscopy & my rheumatologist will write him an approval letter, then he will gladly do my procedure. I have both! Now I just need to complete the insurance requirements, which is, as y'all well know, a waiting game, & I am good to go. Still shooting for July.
I am praying for each of you & your doctors & their staff.

Hi I believe that I am having a JULY surgery its either the preop diet on the 4 th of JULY or the surgery soon after either way I can't wait ....It can't get here soon enough....Right now Im on mnth 3 wk 1 of my 6 mnth diet I've lost abt 10 lbs and holding really 15 bc I lost 5 lbs before I started going to the dr.'s office to get my weigh in's....I got around the surgery time from my surgeon's nurse.....So it will be very close to this.....I still weigh abt 245-247 lbs Im 5'4" Im looking for some new buddies around my time period maybe we can keep in touch w/each other some......

I'm aiming for a July surgery, as well - happy birthday to me Since my birthday is mid-month, I'm hoping to schedule it for the 24th or so, to allow me to get through my birthday before starting my one-week pre-op diet, but I will take whatever I can get.
I've done my six months of medically supervised diet, which required me to meet with my NUT seven times. I've also had my psych evaluation. I still have an EGD and bloodwork to do, but our insurance coordinator said it would be best to schedule those closer to the surgery, so it will most likely be June when I finish those requirements and get submitted for insurance. Since I am a type-II diabetic and have mild sleep apnea, plus a BMI of over 40 I should be okay to get through the insurance approval process, we hope!
I'm also 5' 4", and currently weigh in at 255 and dropping (SLOWLY!) so I guess I'm roughly in the same ballpark with you, Pamela and Stephanie.
