  1. You're doing great! What does your doc say about your thirst? I think 43 lbs is a great loss. I drink before I eat just not while I eat. I tried one time and almost had a problem. Don't be discouraged. Do you walk or bike ride? If you already have a normal exercise routine then add an extra workout every week or 10 mins longer to what you're already doing. That should stir up more weight loss. I'm proud of you. Just remember that everyone has their own pace. In 6 months you'll be under 200! It's the destination and being able to stay there. Not how fast you get there. You got this! I will pray for your continued success and unwavering focus on the goal. Blessings!
  2. Hi everyone. What's been going on out there with my fellow July 2013 sleevers? Any news to tell? For myself, I have my 6 mo follow up this coming Tuesday. Last I checked I was @ 170. I'm hopeful to be @ 168 for my appointment. That will be 80lbs down. I've had one very short stall for just a week. Otherwise no eating or any other issues whatsoever. Exercising from time to time but I plan to join Curves in March when they have the free joining food drive. I know Curves worked for me several years ago before I got sick & gained all my pre lap-band weight and then some. So what's funny to me is that I'm actually considering changing my goal weight from 148 to 135. I like the thought of having "play" room on the scale for fluctuations. Any thoughts?
  3. So happy for y'all! Great job! Let's keep up the good fight. I am hovering @ 191 now. It's a little slow now but I got this. I just want y'all to know that I'm praying for you during your journey. God is good & He wants us to succeed. Have faith & press on. Much love & blessings.
  4. Hey everyone. How's it going? I'm checking in. 10 weeks post op & I'm @ 195. Let me know how y'all are doing. Blessings.
  5. That's exactly what I was thinking. Hit the gym & see better results. I do feel a lot better. I weighed in@ 207 on Saturday morning. I was @ 238 when I started pre-op diet but 248 2 weeks before. My 5 yr old nephew weighs 41 so I literally lost a whole little boy off my body in about 8 weeks! Ha! How are you feeling otherwise?
  6. I only took off 3 days total from work, including surgery day. I am down to 210 as of yesterday. Today I started normal food. I am able to eat 2.5oz of grilled chicken 1.5oz of mashed potatoes. Only 140 calories & 14 grams of protein. I eat low fat cottage cheese for breakfast because it's a lot of protein, too. I was doing 5 small meals with soft foods but I am going to try 3 meals now & see how it works. I feel great! Absolutely no issues have arisen whatsoever. Grateful. How are y'all doing?
  7. Hi asdamato22. How are you feeling? I went back to work last Monday & I feel great! I am on cream soups, aka phase 2. I am looking forward to Wednesday when I start soft foods...mashed potatoes never sounded so sweet. Ha ha! I weighed in this morning @ 215, so I finally dropped the 10lbs of water weight I gained from surgery. . . YAY!!! I guess the real weigh in that will count will be Tuesday when I have my follow up with my doc. Super excited to show him how good I'm doing. So far so good. Tell me all about your experience so far. Any struggles? I'm praying for ya. Take care.
  8. I'm back. Yay! The surgery itself was not difficult at all. The toughest part is getting down enough liquids. It's hard to sip a teaspoon at a time & only an ounce every 15 minutes, but this morning I learned that sipping while standing isn't painful but while sitting, there is discomfort. I know this is because I am still healing on the inside. I am thankful that my vitamins and other meds are liquid and chewable because it's hard to imagine getting proper nourishment this way. I did weigh in officially @ the hospital @ 220 but when I weighed Thursday afternoon, I was @ 230. Lots if water weight from the surgery. I am sure I will normalize in a few more days. I hope everyone else is great! God bless.
  9. Hello my VST lovelies. Today is the day. I am down 15 from the pre-op diet...222lbs. Please pray for my doctors & medical staff & for a successful outcome & recovery. Thanks in advance. God bless & chat with y'all in a few days.
  10. Hapo weekend, everyone! So, I had my pre-op on Tuesday because they scheduled me for July 31st! I didn't want to tell y'all earlier because I felt so bad for tonid. I weighed in @ 238 that morning, which is 237 on my scale & I am @ 230 already today, so I have lost 7lbs on this diet. So far, the only struggle is not eating chips & salsa @ our favorite Tex-Mex restaurant. I ordered the tortilla soup without tortilla strips or cheese & left the carrots in the bowl. It was good! Doing pretty good with the protein shakes, too. EAS Advantage Carb Control are delicious. You have to be careful though because they only have 17g of protein. They're delicious nonetheless. I hope everyone else is doing good on they're pre-op/post-op diets. Let's get a status report/check-in going. Who's next? Blessings.
  11. Oh no, tonid. I am so sorry you have to delay. Rest assured, God has a plan.
  12. Talk about a surprise! I just happened to call and check on the status of my surgery request this morning and low and behold, the approval letter came in July 2nd, which is only 6 days after submission! I am glad I called. Now, if only my patient advocate will call so I can get this party started. I am hopeful for July 19th. Oh wow...so close but yet so far away. On another note, this pre-op diet isn't so bad, yet. The toughest is exercising for 30 mins every day. Only because my feet hurt too much in the morning from my RA & I am exhausted from work in the evenings. I know I can do it, but it won't be fun until I drop some tonnage. Blessings to y'all. Let me know who's already been sleeved this month & how you're doing.
  13. Tonid, you are amazing! Love your upbeat attitude.
  14. That's so cool, bunchlane1. I am hopeful for that same week. Do you have to do all liquids for your pre-op diet? I have 2 protein shakes, & 4 oz lean meat, 1 cup green veggies, & 1 cup of fruit. Not too bad, I think. Gonna start the 7th in hopes they will approve me.
  15. Hi everyone. I know a few of y'all must be getting excited with July fast approaching. My submission to Aetna will be tomorrow morning. Now I hope time doesn't stand still. I need your happy thoughts & prayers, please. Much love & blessings to all of you!
