  1. First family gathering this past weekend. It was hard. The food and drinks looked great. I stayed focused and it went well.

  2. Call your doctor tonight. The pressure in the chest in not anything to mess with.

  3. Having a lot of anxiety today. I'm questioning why I had the surgery.

  4. Great news! I'm right now at 28 pounds since 2 weeks before surgery. I'm having trouble getting 800 calories a day. See my surgeon tomorrow.

  6. It's 9:45 PM and I will be at the hospital at 5:45 in the morning. Surgery is 7:45 AM. I'm so ready. Wish me good luck.

    Before Photos

My wife took these photos one week prior to my surgery. I have been on an 800 calorie liquid diet for one week already. In that week, I had lost 13 pounds.

    June surgery dates

Yep, June 3rd. I'm the first one on that day. The last week seems to be going so slow. I'm so ready.
  10. My band had to be removed in December 2012 because it had dislodged. Now my journey has lead me to Sleeve Surgery. I went to meeting at the end of February to look at what options I have and I am very excited about having the Gastric Sleeve Surgery. I started working with all my doctors to help speed up the process. As of today, I have all my appointments scheduled (Nutritionist, Fitness Evaluation, Physic Evaluation, Pre-Op, Physical, Post-Op). My surgery just got scheduled for June 3, 2013. My case has been fast tracked all the way. My surgeon is Dr. Brad Watkins, UC Health Weight Loss Center located in West Chester, Ohio. My surgery will be preformed at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. It's kind of a blur, but I'm happy. I start my two week Pre-Op diet on May 19th. I've been down this road with my lap band so I'm not too concerned. I am a diabetic with an insulin pump so it makes life interesting to keep up with the changes my Blood Glucose does when I drop to 800 calories. I'm also a heart patient, so I will be stopping my Plavix and Aspirin about ten days before surgery. I currently take 39 pills daily to maintain my heart health, lungs, CHF, kidney function issues. I am concerned about taking so much medication. My doctor requires post op a multivitamin, calcium supplement and vitamin B12. I have read so much information and watched so many You Tube Videos, I feel very comfortable with my decision. My biggest issue is not having a support group close by. I'm over an hour away. I know it was a big help with my lap band. I use Spark People for my daily journaling. It helps keep me focused. I look forward to everyone's input. Thanks for letting me ramble.
