  1. Was taking a shot at a small fitness test I read in a magazine. You inverse rep dead lifts, thrusters and then do 3 burpees every minute on the minute no matter where you are at in any set and then go back to where you left off.
  2. The HMB did nothing that I could tell. The betaine is gods gift to arms. I have 2 shoulder injuries in my right arm and a badgering elbow strain on my left. Needless to say my right bi cep is bigger than my left (not noticed but by me) and my left shoulder is bigger (more defined) than my right. Since starting betaine the gains in both weak areas is going away, quite nicely. I can't decide on the ZMA. For a sleep enhancer it sucks. I sleep better if I forget it. Now the 10k Aminos, Aminocore, and hydro builder (protien with creatine and betaine post drink) are all doing their jobs very well. I mainly stick to C4. I took some assault over a week ago and threw up 5 min into my workout to come down with strep so I took 5 days off and am on my second day back taking it slow. The thought of taking assault right now turns my little stomach. Funny though. I have hovered at 195lbs for months now, which is fine. I took 5 days off and lost 5.5 lbs. I have been 189lbs for several days now and can notice. I went down a pant size. It isn't muscle and certainly isn't a loss any where I can see but will take it. I would like to hit 185 for a while and then build it back to 195lbs with very heavy lifting then cut that forever.
  3. Sorry should have mentioned that. I am in Novi michigan. 30 miles west of Detroit. PM me if you want pics.
  4. Good to hear Michiganders! I used the barix clinic but have heard good things about Beaumont.
  5. Wife doesn't (never) used it and I want a rower. It is the Nordic track 7.1 (now the 7.7). Brand new condition with very little use. Really nice machine, totally adjustable ramp and stride with all the bells and whistles. This thing is seriously like new. Thought I would put it up here before craigslist or eBay. New was $1300 and you can get them on sale now for $700 so would take $500 OBO.
  6. That is a great idea. Have you also thought about some kind of participation at the gym, coaching or training so you can stay involved with that community? It seems important in your life.
  7. Hey, honestly though. Can't you still crossfit as you seem to really enjoy it and just back off a bit. The met cons are doable, just lay off the heavy stuff and go strictly for fitness and form. I get the go big or go home but the stress on the body is tremendous as you have learned through pain and discomfort. Also, wouldn't you eventually work your body through a good chunk of that and be past it? How long have you been cross fitting?
  8. Let me know what it reads like. I know it is very well timed, ratio and type of carb for what you are talking about. Anything above and beyond would be a weight gainer.
  9. Carb loading only helps with energy, nothing to do with muscle size.
  10. Holy, never saw that coming. I will say you should not feel guilt but instead feel pride in making a decision that is good for you. Pain and discomfort is no way to live. You can always crossfit when you want, join another gym and get better at other things fitness oriented. I am proud of you and look forward to the next step in your journey!
  11. Nice... Keep rocking it out!
  12. Pretty quick to working out. Good for you.
  13. I have a real nice never used elliptical for sale.
  14. Do a warm up, reaching a 110 HR and letting body heat up, 10 min minimum. Then do your circuits or strength training AND THEN your cardio. If you are doing cardio first you are burning your energy on that and then have nothing for weight training. Remember this, muscle burns fat even at rest. The more muscle the more calories burned daily. Lean mass is not bulk mass so do not fear being big, just lean. There are a ton of skinny fat people running around in great cardiovascular shape.
  15. The belt has a tensioner. If you look up your model you should easily find how to tighten it. Need to be checked yearly I would guess.
  16. Ya, it is best to know than not to know. I would assume small calorie count in just about any supplement really. May be negligible but still there.
  17. Well, if you go by the argument that protien is not an energy source (which it isn't) then the body isn't storing it as such. It is a delivery agent and a muscle builder. In with the good and out with the bad. I also don't count calories as I don't really care about caloric density when my diet is in check and I am eating clean. Just have to watch out for those sweet potatoes. They are snickers bars of yore. Lmao!
  18. Ignore it and keep on working. All of these things are reminders to me of what I will not be again!
  19. Is it a program called that? Not a fan of work outs that potentially discourage people for the pain. If you love it then go get it. If not work into it or up to it. That pain can last for days and there isn't much you can do about it once there. Read though, several of supplement in such a way we rarely feel muscle soreness and train heavy repeatedly all week.
  20. I am currently in a PFT class. Lecture Saturday was on caloric burn, calorie deficits and what the body is truly capable of losing healthy or otherwise. I ended up educated everyone and revealing my VSG and how much I have lost in the last 11 months. Disproving the lecture and absolutely flooring the teacher and most of the class. I did the math however and have had a 457,500 calorie deficit this year to have lost the weight. My year surgery anniversary is coming up on the 27th. I just thought it was an incredible number.
  21. Anyone try those amino 10000? Holy huge pills. No way I could swallow half of one after sleeve. However, nutri bullet to the rescue. Milled those bad boys with my betaine and added to my protein drink. Oh yeah!!
  22. Super shock to your body. Response; hair loss. Protein however should be lean body weight = grams in protien daily.
  23. I need better stretching for sure. I am terrible. Going to need to invest in one of those books so I can be better at it.
