  1. I just would have hated to have gone back to work and made things worse cause I should have been following my Drs advise and be at home for 2 weeks adjusting.
  2. You honestly need more than a week after surgery! You could have complications, SS not heal in time or properly... You need to put in for FMLA and short term disability. This is major surgery that alters your physical and mental state. Just be open and honest with your boss about what your doing and that you will be back as soon as the Dr. Clears you and do it right with no rushing! Just setting yourself up for something worse and not be covered. FMLA protects you from MEAN bosses.
  3. Great advice everyone. Thanks!
  4. I don't know what is going on but I haven't really lost anything in a week. I am not eating wrong, I am working out (elyptical) at least 5 times a week and I am meeting my water goal and coming real close on protien. I feel like I am retaining water!! Going to do liquids today only and see if that breaks it loose.
  5. *^^ not everyday for mashed cauliflower? Cauliflower is not a starch. My post surgery dietician suggested it from purée stage on. You can blend protien into it with no taste difference.
  6. Have you tried insanity? Not that bad on my knees.
  7. Jack3d is crazy. I like NO Xplod myself and Black Powder. Jack3d was either nerve racking or had no effect at all. Even after stirring and shacking the container. Not sure I would bother with it on top of it tastes terrible.
  8. I am literally laughing out loud. I thought I was crazy with my pickle craving. I have eaten a few pickle chips and am fine. I am 16 days post op. now on a soft diet. I just chew the heck out of them before I swallow.
  9. I love the stuff! So easy to make and tastes great.
  10. They blow our stomach up with gas so they can perform the surgery. A lot of that is the gas working its way out. I couldn't imagine eating cheese the first week though. No thank you.
  11. I to was a coffee addict. I just let the surgery take care of it. Haven't had caffeine since two days before surgery and haven't noticed a thing for 15 days now. Don't dwell on it. Git'er done!!
  12. I bought the bullet blender. Thing is awesome. I am in the puréed stage as well. I cook normal for the family then take some and put it through the bullet blender. Taco meat, Beans and salsa, AWESOME. slow cooker meat, carrots and a small potatoe. Both me and the baby ate that with smiles. Made home made low fat pot pie for the family so I took the veggies, meat and low fat gravy and blended. Was really good over a table spoon if mashed potatoes. I have also been roasting cauliflower and blending that with minced garlic, butter and a little broth. Love it!! My kids think that is what mashed potatoes are. Do what the dr. Says and follow the diet. Not worth any chances. Chewing is not puréed. If it were they would tell you to do that. You just had most of your stomach removed. Don't be lazy with the healing diet.
  13. Ya I am home. Post op by ten or more days.
  14. Really strange. I looked down at my hand and there is a quarter size swollen spot right where my IV went into my hand. It doesn't hurt and really isn't discolored. This common?
  15. I thought stretching was a big concern with pop.
  16. 42 last August. I am 10 days post op and can not believe I am 17 lbs lighter already. I am on a quest to meet my protein and liquid goals daily. I have 1 day so far. :-). Liquid stage got Tough but am adjusting really well and actually slept on my stomach last night. Getting ready to start working out and see what happens. My follow up appt is this coming Thursday. Hopefully back to work as well!
  17. I didn't drink anything my first 2 days except ice chips. The end of the 3rd day I was able to drink white grape juice, 1/2 water 1/2 juice. Now 9 days post op I am drinking what I want from the choices provided. Live the ISO proteins diluted in 1/2 with water. I have had Hummous, avocado, and some baby food.
  18. I was sleeved on February 27. I am so glad to be going purred foods. So far so good. A little bit of diarrhea today but not to bad. I am down 21 lbs from pre op. I am ingesting my 64 oz of fluids with a protein (ISO) water combo. Yesterday was the first day I met my protein fluids goal.
