  3. I think everyone gets that uneasy feeling when you get close to your surgery date. I read the bad post as well as good post. I can tell you I had my surgery on Nov 4 2013, and it is one of the best things I have done for myself. I'll not say it was easy at first, because you do struggle at first and may even think why did I do this. You need to keep doing what you are told and it gets better and better every week. Then you start feeling the benefits of the surgery and you feel great. Even to this day I have to work at eating properly, and I catch myself slipping on my eating the right foods and wanting to fall back to my bad habits because I have a lot of stress in my life at this time. I know I better get to one of the many support meetings to get back into the right frame of mind. It is very easy to fall back to the old ways. Again it is one of the best things I have done for myself healthwise. I know I really feel wonderful every time I get compliments on how good I look and feel. Stay positive and strong and follow through you won't be sorry.

  18. I turned 67 in Aug of this year, and just got surgery date of Nov 4th. Looking forward to dropping weight so I can get some relief on my knees and hopefully be more active again like I was most of my life. Just excited for a new life.
  19. My date is Nov 4th also. My mind is doing the same thing. I just want to get this done now and not have these seesaw things going on in my head. I start the two week diet Oct 21 and that even seems like forever.
  20. I just did the pre op classes today, they lasted about 4hrs also. Just going over all the info on everything. Healtheast Bariatrics in St. Paul Mn. Info was on what you have learned and what to do from two week liquid diet pre op to post op diet. What all will happen upon entering hospital for surgery until your ready to be discharged. Everything you need to know.
  21. Check in with your doctor just to be sure on if you should be checked or not

  23. Got my surgery date today. Nov 4,2013. Approval from Medicare and UCare Ins
  24. Hi I don't have my date yet. I'm waiting for insurance approval. I have appt with my surgeon sept 24to hopefully be given date. Im from mn, but I go to port richey nov thru April. I m probably going to be delayed til the mid of nov to get down to port richey. My sister had bypass surgery two years ago. She found support groups in new port richey. Anyway I'm hoping and and got my fingers crossed to get ins approval in the next 7-10 days. I started process June 10. It has gone fairly smooth so far. I started at 213, and have been working on slowing down on eating and chewing the food properly. That has been my biggest adjustment along with getting enough Fiber. So much Protein keeps me borderline constipated. Started the new powder fiber that I got at Walmart. We could stay in touch and ill be in port richey for 6 months.
  25. My last nut appt is 9/6 also then all is sent to ins. I hope there is a quick turn around so I get a oct surgery date. I've got my fingers crossed for approval.
