Another bit of advice, when you feel like going... GO! Don't put it off lest you explode before you make it to the facilities.

I find myself in an odd situation. I feel as though I always need to be doing something. I am not sure if it is that I have so much more energy than I ever had before or the psychological impact of realizing just how much of my life I spent inactive and on the couch' date=' essentially wasting my life.By doing something I don’t necessarily mean always working out or exercising, though I have found myself going out for runs, just for something to do. I used to spend hours upon hours just watching TV and now, while I still have a few shows I like to watch, I really feel like I’m just wasting time if I’m sitting in front of the TV. Even going out to a movie I find to be more enjoyable than just staying at home.
Here’s where the problem comes in. My wife does not share my desire to be almost constantly on the go. She likes to go to work come home and just relax. Nothing wrong with that and she does on occasion want to go out or go for a walk, etc., but she is much more content just chilling out at home than I am. It’s really become an issue because she doesn't want to hold me back from doing things, doesn't want me to become resentful of her if I don’t go do things and yet she does not want to be left home alone frequently either.
I never thought anything like this would come from me doing something to lose weight and better my health.[/quote']
I have similar issues, sometimes my husband is up for it, sometimes not. I have my elliptical in the living room so I can hang with him and burn off some of that nervous energy. I do miss being able to sit still long enough to get some reading in. Right now feel antsy and lack any kind of attention span.

I actually make zucchini spaghetti noodles (cause the boats were squishy) topped with pizza sauce' date=' turkey pepperoni, mozzarella and mushrooms. Most of the time I prefer my noodles with chicken & alfredo.

I had the surgery but the staple line at the top was closed up too tight. I could not even pass liquid. So back in they went to open me back up. During the repair' date=' I woke up and started vomiting. So they had to come back out and put me back under...then they went back in to repair all the damage I did from the vomiting. Beyond painful!
In the hospital for 5 whole days. Couldn't even do liquids by mouth for almost a week. Out of work for a month.[/quote']
Wow! Tough break.

You were sleeved on my birthday thats awesome. How you doing so far?
I'm doing great at 10 weeks post options. No complications, getting in all my Water and Protein. So far there's been nothing my stomach can't handle in small portions. I'm exercising most days and losing weight (in kind of a stair step pattern. ) I've lost 36 lbs since surgery and 77 lbs so far this year. Went from a size 28 to a size 20. I feel great.

You really should talk to your doctor. Too much potassium can cause death and that being said you shouldn't count on MFP to be accurate. Potassium is only to be taken with lab work done and verifying you need it and prescribed by a doctor. You should never decide I need potassium and I think maybe I will start taking some. It can cause cardiac arrest and possibly death. Serious business....
Thanks for your concern and feedback.

I've not run into any haters as yet. My family was concerned initially, but got on board when I showed I'd thoroughly researched my options and potential repercussions. They saw me stick to the program before and after surgery. I do hear the inevitable stories about people's friends and relatives regaining the weight after the band or bypass, but they're not being critical, just sharing what little the know from others. It's a good opportunity to educate people about WLS. I actually gave a speech about my experience at my Toastmaster club.

If you had a drastic drip in carbs I think it's pretty normal to feel low energy at first until you body switches over to burning fat for fuel. Usually passes after a week. Exercise helps and getting enough sleep, Water and Vitamins. I think if you've had a huge decrease in sodium you lose Water weight and your BP can drop.

My husband says I was crankier, probably the hormones. I find my attention spand has decreased too. Exercise seems to help burn off the nervous energy.

I'm counting everything and not taking more than a couple of the potassium supplements. Being cautious due to reasons you gave. Trying to get more from diet. Thanks for the feedback.

MFP says I should be getting 3000 mg of potassium. I don't even come close. Bought some supplements, but they're relatively low dose (90 mg). Does anyone get in all their potassium?

I'm 48, army brat, married (2005), no children and have 3 dogs and a cat. Love reading, traveling and going to the dog park (so many dogs, so little time ). Favorite comedians are Kathleen Madigan and Gabriel Englesias. Generally pretty liberal; have friends from all walks of life. Have a somewhere techy job; been with the same company for over 13 years and generally like it. I like food (duh)...Korean, Thai, Ethiopian, pretty much everything. Like to cook (my mom says I'm good at it lol). Think life should be an adventure.
