Has anyone been on a cruise since having surgery? I'm going on one in 2 weeks and am hoping for some tips on handling being around all that food! I'm thinking of asking our waiter to make me small plates at dinner as I get an overwhelmed feeling when too much food is put in front of me (I never thought I would say such a thing lol). Thanks for any advice... (4 mos. out 60 lbs gone)

I'm here too... Sleeved March 4. Down 43 lbs. my dr says I'm a slow loser :/... Which was discouraging because I am following all his rules and that statement really bummed me out. I think I need to cut the cord with him and take complete ownership over this process. I rarely comment on this app but reading all your posts has helped me tremendously.

I was sleeved on march 5th and am only down 25 lbs. I don't stress over it too much, everyone is different. Think I too am in "starvation mode" but this week I can add more diversity so hope that helps getting the scale moving...

OK...I'm not usually dense' date=' but how do you prepare this? K[/quote']:-) so I took the easy way- bought already made pudding cups and Jello cups. Dumped one of each in a bowl and mix it up. Not the most attractive concoction but tasty. Of course you could buy the boxes and prepare jello/pudding from scratch (less money) and then combine the two after they are set.

Hi all' date=' I'm post op day 5 (sleeved on Tuesday) and I keep feeling weaker and more tired. I'm only getting in about half my liquid and probably less than 10g Protein a day (my surgeon has no min/max Protein for the first two weeks). Which do you think is the bigger issue for my feeling weak and tired, the Water or the protein? Thanks.[/quote']I felt exactly the same way at 5 days out. And I really felt like I was never going to get my strength back... But little by little you will feel stronger. Each day take a little more protein and Water (even if it is just a few more sips). I am 4 weeks out and starting to feel so much better. I was even able to walk 3 miles around the track yesterday! I am up to about 80 grams of protein and about 60 oz of water a day... So just rest when you need to now - your body will tell you when you are ready for more.

I am on puréed food now (sleeved on 3/4). I have refried Beans with a little shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream. Also puréed chicken with low fat gravy served with a little mashed potatoes and a spoonful of puréed carrots- tiny meal but made me feel normal. I can eat about 6 oz a meal at this point. Dr says that will probably go down once I start regular food. I also tried baby food but homemade tastes much better! Trying to eat three meals a day is hard because I'm still hungry. So dr said eat every three hours - don't stress about eating "too much" because this is still the healing period. Just try to eat to satisfaction. So I still am eating yogurts, sf pudding and Protein Drinks throughout the day...

That's amazing!! Congratulations... Can I ask what a typical day for you is (eating wise)?

I was sleeved on 3/4 and totally understand the struggle. I'm doing well getting Soup, pudding and liquids down. It's the Protein that is my nemesis. Its so hard to get down. Tried getting as much in this morning as possible to get it over with... Also I'm like ridiculously fatigued. Taking a shower wipes me out. I'm going back to work next week and am scared. Anyone else still this tired?

Day 2 post-op and im feeling horrible... I feel like im going through drug withdrawal I can hardly keep my eyes open and have really bad shivers.. anybody else had felt the same? I tried walking' date=' stretching drinking water.. I just feel so weak..[/quote']Day two was the worst for me too. I am on day five and things are improving. The nasuesea is letting up and so is the gas pains. Now mostly weak and struggling to get fluids in. Skin and eyes are very dry do I use visine and lots of aveeno after shower. Trying to keep busy but stuck in house cause of snow storm. Set my alarm to go off very hour to walk around the house in circles to keep circulating. Kind of boring but one day will be a memory... The bad "2nd day" is already starting to fade from my mind. Stay strong...

Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't posted. The second day was pretty bad for me. Not the pAin which is pretty minimal. The nausea overwhelmed me, I could barely function. The nurses were great and forced me to walk and walk to help relieve it but it was worse than I imagined. The gi series test was the worst part but it also showed I have no leaks and I could start liquids. Haven't been able to take much but a little more each day. I had a panic moment full of regret but that is a waste of energy. I'm focused on healing and getting stronger each day. Being home is the best medicine and my husband has been so amazing I could cry. Today is day 4 and for the first time the food tv commercials (who knew there were so many??) are not completely grossing me out. So just to recap, I had minimal pain right after and still don't have much. It's the naseaus feeling and weakness that I'm battling now. Any tips would be helpful...

No drain... Four incision points. Dr also found a hernia which he repaired. Incision points are sore but not much internal pain to speak of
