  1. I haven been on VST in a while because I am really enjoying the new me. I have been very active since my surgery on May 3rd 2013. I have lost a total of 83 lbs and this is the best i have felt in a very long time. I work out an 1 hour usually 3 to 4 times a week. I can really see the changes. I have went down from a 26/28 (some 30's) to wearing a size 18w pants. It used to be ashamed to try on clothes in the stores but, now take my own sweet time in the dressing room. When I was younger, I loved roller coasters. I stopped getting on them because i was too afraid that I would not fit and they would ask to get off. This summer I rode so many rides. I had the time of my life. I thank God that I have not had any complications. I usually do a protein shake in the morning, a lean cuisine for lunch, another protein shake, and a hearty protein for dinner. My appetite seems to go with the weather. Not for sure why. The only bad habit I have is I weigh myself too much and ooh I forgot the chocolate lol. My Dr and nutritionist have been there for the much needed support. My husband got the lap band 2 years ago so it makes it nice that we both can support each other. I have 70 more lbs to loose to be a my idea weight. I am not anxious to reach my goal. I have always told myself that when i got the surgery I would be the creator of my own success. Therefore, Im taking one day at time. Right now, I am just enjoying the new me.

I am so so happy with my weight lost
  3. I was the same way on May 3rd. Yes it does get better. I had to stay in the hospital two nights. I felt horrible the first day. I was getting sick too but my doc gave me something to help the nausea. In am almost at week 4 and 40 lbs down since surgery. I was sad at first because I was in pain. However, by the second day, the tech had a hard time keeping up with me down the hallways because my doc wanted me to walk. I ride a bicycle for the first time in 15 years on yesterday. Just to do that again it was well worth the pain.

  5. Thanks for the encouragement. I am so excited and can not wait to see the end result. Weight loss surgery has been something I wanted to do for years but was too afraid. I am so glad that I went through with it. I'm so grateful for this website because it has helped me alot. But thanks for sharing your story.
  6. Sleeved on May 3rd. Just went for my 2nd week follow up. I am down 24 lbs! Yeeaaaa Meee!!!!
  7. I was sleeved on May 3rd 2013 and on this week I am beginning to see the weight loss. I went to the Doc for my follow up on today. I have lost 24 lbs in 2 weeks. My pants are very loose. My highest weight was 350. I was 310 at my pre op. I am so so happy. But I really think it depends on the person, because you can lose inches and not lbs. So in time, you will see a difference.
  8. I am May 3rd sleever. I have lost about 5 lbs since surgery. I feel pretty great. Haven't took pain pills since Tuesday. Going back to work tomorrow because its an office position. I have been eating cream soup, sugar free popsicles, and sugar free pudding. GNC makes a chocolate caramel protein powder mix and its to die for. For the most part I am excited about my journey. My family says they can really see the weight loss. I can tell in my clothes. Wishing all the May sleevers the best of luck!!
  9. I had to see my nutritionist once a month for 6 months in order for BCBS of MD would approve it. She was very informative and supportive. She gave me small goals each month that took on weight loss one lb at a time. I also joined a support group that I attended regularly. The members there were very encouraging. My husband had the lap band done about 2 years ago, and has lost about 90 lbs. He is my greatest inspiration. 2 weeks prior my surgery, the nutritionist put me on a 1000 calorie diet 2 meals under 250 calories and the rest Protein shakes. I could have 1/2 cup of fruit or veggies with my meal. The Lean Cuisine lines makes quite a bit of meals around 250 cal. Drinking plenty of Water helps also.I was so afraid at first, but thank God He has His hands on me. Good look on your journey!!
  10. Just got sleeved in Berlin, MD. (Close to to Ocean City, MD). Dr Zarif was excellent. Was supposed to stay overnight for observation , but he kept me another night just to make sure I was ok. I am home now and just a little sore. Ready to start my liquid protein today. Was very scared before the surgery, but I'm happy I went through it. My highest weight was 350. My weight before surgery was 305. I weighed myself this morning at 298. Yeaaaa me!!!!
  11. Mine will be done in Berlin, MD.....minutes from Ocean City, MD. Dr. Zarif. 2 more days to go!!!
  12. Mines is May 3rd also!!!! Excited and scared
  13. I hope your surgery went well. Yes God had it and had you!!
  14. I have to start on April 19th. But when I went to my preop, the nutritionist is gonna let me be on a 1000 calorie diet instead of full liguid diets'. I can have two Protein shakes and one lean cuisine meal each day. Just bought some sugar free pops and they are really good.
  15. I lost 5lbs by just doing liquids for Breakfast and dinner. Then I ate a regular lunch. The Protein shakes really keep me full. I ended up going for 3 days straight liquids and still doing 2 meals liquid.. I was using the GNC vanilla flavor and was mixing a dash of OJ, milk, and ice. Not bad at all. My pre op is Wed April 3rd at 1pm. I'm excited!!
  16. I am new to VST. On Wednesday, March 13, 2013, I finished my 6mos monitoring. On Thursday, I got a call saying I was approved for surgery. The nutritionist will not be back til two weeks so my pre op is scheduled for April 4. The nurse said my surgery should be scheduled the end of April. 2 years ago, my hubby got the lap band . He has lost 100 lbs. I am excited, but I am also so nervous. I started at 336 lbs now I'm at 316 lbs. Really excited about my weight loss. Think I am gonna start trying to do 2 days a week liquid diet before my pre op.
  17. Congrats !!! You look great
