The Dr.'s office called and in addition to my iron and vitamin B being low, I am also low on vitamin D. They have called me in a presciption. Anyone else have this?

I had the nasal canula, the pulse ox for my finger and a little machine that strapped around my chest. I slept in the spare bedroom so I could move around. I didn't sleep well that night, but then I wasn't sleep good anyway! I broke the record for the worst sleep study in the practice! they ordered my cpap machine the next day!!!

I've went to the seminar, had my first consult, pre op testing, gotten clearance from my pulminologist and go to cardiologist today. NUT appt next week, all within a couple weeks!! blueyz80 You're having surgery in Peoria aren't you? I saw Bod Pod!! I'm going through Methodist. Dr. Salimath. I've heard good things about Rossi!! -
Congrats for making that first step!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some insurance requires your primary care Dr. to do a referral to a surgeon. Check with them. But I called and made an appt with the surgeon earlier this month. Already had most of my pre op testing done, like blood work, EKG, chest Xray and upper GI. Got clearance from my cpap Dr. Friday and go to cardiologist tomorrow. You will have alot of appts at first! I will also have to meet with a dietitcan for 3 months before insurance will approve me. Pych eval will have to be done. But it's going to be soooo worth it!!!

I'm being completely honest with people. I'm hoping to have surgery in June, but I'm telling everybody that I am preparing for surgery because I will have so much to prepare for. My 6 yr old son knows what that I'm going to have a surgery that will make me skinny as he says. He even watched a procedure on YouTube that I started watching and didn't realize he was behind me. I went to turn it off and he freaked out! He watched the whole thing because he said he wanted to see what the Dr. was going to do to his mommy.

Already low on iron and B-12, so starting suppliments today. Thyroid levels were up, so got a call in to my PCP to see if he needs to see me of if he can just adjust my Synthroid. Sugar levels were right at the high end of normal, but Dr. didn't say anything about it. Everything else looked good! Oh and I'm not pregnant! YAY!!

I've already given up soda. But I can't stand diet soda, so I really didn't have an option! I'm trying to walk some. I haven't started with my portions yet, I guess I'm still having my food funeral!! I go to the NUT on 4/2, and the Dr wants me to start with 2 week liquid diet. I have to see the NUT for 3 months for insurance to approve me for surgery. I'll also have to do another 2 week liquid diet right before the surgery, so I guess I'm getting it out of my system now!!! -

have to lose 50 lbs in 2lbs in 2 mnths or no surgery any advice
Crkrjax76 replied to Danielle85's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My insurance requires me to do 3 months Dr. supervised diet for approval and my surgeon said it was possible to lose 100 lbs in 3 months! I just looked at him like he was crazy! I'm sure it's all liquid and stuff. I thought the same thing, if I could lose it on my own, I wouldn't need surgery. But then again, I wouldn't want to be on a liquid diet the rest of my life either! -

WOW with my pre op, I had 12 tubes of blood, urine test, EKG, chest Xray and upper GI. And would have had to have a sleep study and gallbladder ultrasound if I hadn't already had a CPAP and no gallbladder! -
Ordered some protien drink samples

The paperwork I got said to start now trying protien drink samples, so I ordered a few Syntrax Nectar samples. Anybody tried them? -

Good Luck!! Had mine done last week!!! -
Hi, my name is Dana and I'm 36 yrs old and in the process of jumping through all the insurance and surgeon's hoops to get my surgery date. I have over 200 lbs to lose and have decided on the bypass. I've already had all my pre op blood work, chest xray, EKG, Upper GI. Just went to the Dr. that supervises my CPAP and got his approval today. I go to the cardiologist next week the following week to the dietician. My insurance requires 3 months supervision, so I'm really hoping for a surgery date in June. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!!!

I'm starting to get nervous! I've already been trying to cut back and watch what I'm eating and slowing down on sodas. I know this is all things I'm going to have to do, so I'm taking the steps now so I don't go into shock when I actually HAVE to do it. I know I get to skip a couple steps like sleep study and gallbladder since I've already had my gallbladder removed and am already on a CPAP machine. I'll have to go through a 3 month Dr. supervised diet for my insurance. I just I'm just rambling on and on. I keep thinking...what if I do really good on this diet and the insurance says, you can do it on your own??? I've got over 200 lbs to lose and I've gotten to the point where I KNOW I can't do this alone. I've started and dropped Weight Watchers more times than I can count... My husband doesn't really approve of WLS, but keeps saying he will support me in any decision I make for myself. But I have noticed that he is not very open to me talking about it. He doesn't stop me, but I can just tell he's not really listening to me. Although I do believe he is making an effort. I will have a big support system in my niece, who is hopefully coming to live with me before my surgery. I also have a cousin who had lapband about 10 years ago, and she's a big support as well, although she lives 400 miles away but is always a phone call away. I know this surgery (or any other WLS) is not a cure all and that it will be like a walk in the park to lose weight afterwards. I know I will have to work harder than I've ever worked at anything in my life. But I worked very hard to have my son. And if I went through that, I can go through this so that I can be the mother I want and need to be to him. I don't want to be a mother on the sidelines. I want to be right in the middle of it!! Right now, I don't go to movies or concerts or ballgames or anywhere like that. I'm too big to fit in the seats. I can't go into a store and buy clothes. I have to order my clothes online. I have a horrible time finding shoes due to my feet being so wide and fat. I even have a hard time finding socks for goodness sake!! Those are all the reasons I'm doing this and more. I want to be off my CPAP machine. I'm afraid I'm beginning to have high blood pressure. I don't want to go on meds for that. I want to be able to go in a store and buy an outfit. I want to be able to take my son to the park and actually PLAY with him instead of sitting on the bench watching him. I want to be able to go to a concert and not worry about fitting in the seat or crowding out the person next to me. Thank you all for your time in reading this and letting me vent. I actually feel better now that I got this off my chest!

First surgeon appt tomorrow....
Crkrjax76 replied to Crkrjax76's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
He just doesn't think the surgery is safe. Like I said, he hasn't said anything and has been supportive but just doesn't really like to talk about it. I'm not going to let that stop me. This is my health, not his. -

What do you tell children?
Crkrjax76 replied to anniemay's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told my 6 year old. I told him that mommy was going to have a surgery to help her lose weight and then we could do all kinds of fun things together. He told me that he would be my big helper when I came home from the hospital. He wanted to know if he could have my cell phone so he could call me while I was in the hospital. My son is very observant and he found my folder of information and started questioning me. We have found that it's better to tell him what's going on or he just keeps hounding until he gets it. -
AWESOME!!!! You look AMAZING!!!!!

Maybe I better get rid of my dogs and my son before I go any further??????? -
I'm going to assume that I will be able to take and use my cpap machine while in the hospital? I know they will be waking me up every little bit and I probably won't sleep good anyway, but I just can't sleep without my machine anymore!!
