I have no idea if that's the correct spelling or not. I was going for pronunciation. I like the "Hoochie" word, too. I tell my granddaughter she's not going out "dressed like some trashy little hoochie mama".
-
Is that "Hotchie", as in Hot Chick, or "Hoochie", as in Hoochie mama?

One really important word of caution....AFTERCARE. I live in D/FW too and cannot stress enough that BEFORE you go to Mexico, you need to have a local band doctor lined up for fills. With the band, aftercare is EVERYTHING. Many US doctors will not do fills for a patient banded in Mexico.

I have a GREAT idea! Let's start a whole new discussion (the one on abortion is in danger of going up in flames). Let's call it "pet names for your vagina". On Gray's Anatomy, they call it a "va-jay-jay". I sometimes call it a "cootchie" My DIL calls hers a "monkey" (nope...never asked her). Come on ladies....what do YOU call that thang?

My doctor says age 50, unless you "fail" the fecal exam they do yearly. If you have blood in your stool, they will send you for a colonoscopy, no matter what your age. I was one of those people :think and they made me go back every year, for a while. Now I am at 2 or 3 years. I forget, but it's okay....the Gastro guy sends me a nice little invitation when it's time.

My mom had never had a Pap smear, until I made her go to the Gyn (not mine, thank God) at the age of 70. My parents had been divorced for many years. My mother never remarried - didn't even date, in fact. From the "business end" of the exam, the doctor asked her how long it had been since she had had sex. She said 1955. The doctor, with his fingers in her hoo-hoo, said, "That's too bad. It's a shame to waste this." I thought she should have sued the jerk. At the very least, I think I would have peed on him. But hey, that's just me. :heh:

First of all, the "bad" side of the pro-life/pro-choice debate depends entirely on which position you agree with. And there are plenty of pro-choice folks (notice I didn't call them "pro-abortion") who "totally freak out" when their beliefs are challenged, too. Does that render them "humorless", as well? Be fair, now. Secondly, I was not criticizing you for stating your opinion. I simply disagreed. I don't think humor has one single thing to do with the abortion issue. It's like saying if you can't take a joke about 9/11, you have no sense of humor. Death is not funny - ever. But that's just my opinion. Feel free to criticize it. As for keeping the thread civil.....ABSOLUTELY. That's why I asked that the name-calling cease. Name-calling is counterproductive to any civilized argument. It is anti-intellectual and attacks the speaker, rather than his/her position. It's also against the LBT rules. As I have said in earlier posts, I do not demonstrate against abortion rights. I do not harass doctors. I don't call them "baby killers" and I do not bomb clinics, and I certainly would never assault anyone. I am not without sin and, therefore, I do not judge anyone else. You are preaching to the choir when you say, to me, that people who use violence to further their beliefs are no better than those they oppose. I took exception to two things, and two things only: 1. The implication that people who are not in favor of abortion on demand have no sense of humor. 2. Name-calling of those who post here -by anyone, for any reason. This is why I hate debating this issue. It always gets ugly. And it doesn't have to. Really, it doesn't.

I agree! The prep is what I hate! The colonoscopy itself is a piece of cake. My GI guy usually has his own done with no anesthetic, but he gives the rest of us something via IV that amounts to about 10 margaritas. I am out before they even have a chance to dim the lights. (I'm a cheap drunk....I mean patient.)

Info needed on these Dr. in DFW area
Carlene replied to angeleyes68's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Adam Smith is also a banded surgeon. He has lots of experience and used to teach surgery at UNT. He has offices in Ft Worth and Hurst. He used to operate out of SCOR in Richardson, too. I'm not sure if he still does, or not. He's a super nice guy - very personable and down-to-earth. -
Just got back from the all night, self-service machine at the post office. My box full of ghoulish goodies is on its way!

There are people on this forum, I believe, who have marched in anti-abortion demonstrations. Please do not call them names. It is unnecessary and unbecoming.

Here's MY sign...

How can you possibly make a generalized statement like that? What does being pro-life have to do with anyone's sense of humor? Surely you aren't suggesting that abortion is humorous, are you?

The nationwide death rate is 3 in 10,000 or less, which makes the Lap-Band a safer procedure than routine surgeries like hernia repair or gallbladder removal.

My goodies arrived today from South Dakota, courtesy of Maudeispam. I don't know if you can see everything in the photo or not, but there are tombstone earrings, a witchy pin, spooky pencils, a little baby flashlight and a bat light, CANDY (you bad girl, Pam...LOL), some nail polish, a pack of SF gum, a great smelling Pumpkin Patch candle, a postcard, and 3 great little storage containers with Halloween orange lids. Pam also wrote a really sweet note. What a great Halloween gifter she is!

This is tooooooooo funny. And totally bi-partisan (it should offend Democrats and Republicans equally). http://i.euniverse.com/funpages/cms_content/13180/HillaryCondi_HoDown.swf

I think this is a pretty powerful message...

chicken or beef???
Carlene replied to housecatgirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes, she is a Tzu. She is very small (5 pounds) and some people are calling the little bitty ones "Chinese Imperials", or mini-Shih Tzu, although the AKC does not recognize either as a separate breed. Lucy wasn't exactly a rescue pup...more like a surrender. She was purchased from my neighbor's boss (a home breeder) and then after a little over a year, the people decided they could not keep her. I don't think she was abused (my neighbor knows the previous owners), but they lived in an apartment and no one was home all day, so they kept her crated a LOT. And they had two small children. When I first got her, she was not so anti-people - just shy. Now she gets really aggressive with anyone who comes near me. I think she is trying to protect me. Evidently she thinks she is a pit bull...LOL. -

Thank you. She is the most worthless little ball of fur that ever was, but I love her dearly. Her name is Lucy, but my granddaughter calls her Lucifer. Lucy has issues. One of them is that she doesn't like anyone but me. She is quite fond of other dogs, however. It's just people she doesn't like. -

But you get 25 grams of protein for 130 calories, at $1.15 per serving. Why not just drink 12 oz of skim milk? It has 129 calories and 24 grams of protein, for about 50 cents. Add some sugar free flavoring, if you like. It will still be cheaper and probably taste just as good. -

Starbucks can be a GOOD choice. A grande non-fat latte has 160 calories and 16 grams of protein. If you check the nutrition info on the can, those expensive "supplements" often do not have much more protein than plain old skim milk. -

Slim Fast powder (chocolate). I add some ice and sometimes a spoon of malted milk powder. -
You will appreciate this (true) story more than most. My friend Carol suffered with Endometriosis for years before she finally consented to a hysterectomy. Her doctor wanted her to sign consent pre-surgery for him to remove her ovaries, if he thought it would be best. She was only in her mid-30s and really did not want her ovaries removed, so she argued a bit. "Do you have some emotional attachment to your ovaries?" the doctor asked? "I don't think so", said Carol, "Do you have an emotional attachment to your testicles?" He said, "Oh, I understand". Sure you do...since you put it that way.

I had a hysterectomy at 31, and didn't even need one. What I did need was an anterior/posterior plastic repair (basically that's plastic surgery on your hoo-hoo). My Gyn (God bless him) asked me if I planned to have more children. Since my DH had had a vasectomy about 6 years prior, I said it would be better if I didn't. So he offered me the option of having the hysterectomy too, since he would be in the neighborhood. I kept my ovaries, lost the periods and those damned cramps. There is no downside to it. Until about 5 years ago they made me have a Pap smear every year. Since Pap smears only detect cervical cancer, and I don't have a cervix, that was pretty hard to figure out. Anyway, I just don't have them any more. It's my body and I figure they can't make me. I do have the annual mammogram and colonoscopy. My first colonoscopy, they found 8 polyps. The second one, 5 and the third one, 2. Breast and colon cancer can be cured if detected early. I figure that cancer is a lot more uncomfortable than either the mammogram or the colonoscopy, much as I dislike both of them. PS...I have observed my DH's prostate exam and I recommend that all wives do the same. It levels the playing field a little bit.

No, sex is foreplay for eating. I used to love to eat really good stuff after sex - like ice cream or cheesecake. Now I can't eat after about 8:30 PM. I wonder if I could get my DH to switch to sex in the afternoon?
