My doctor is a carbonation Nazi. He insists that he has had to do more than one surgery to repair problems caused by carbonated drinks.

I am so sorry, Morsaille. We have neglected you and should not have! If you can't keep fluids down - at least 64 oz in 24 hours - you need to call your doctor. I have been over-filled myself and it's no fun when you can't swallow your own spit. Come back and let us know what the doc said. I promise we won't ignore you next time.

I don't know, but it makes me HUNGRY!

Penni... I appreciate your willingness to "come clean" regarding this matter. It takes a lot of courage to admit one's mistakes, especially in a public forum. I hope you will continue to contribute as a member of LBT - but not as a Moderator. It was beyond unacceptable for you to knowingly, willingly, help "give one particular member grief". Even if your involvement was as minimal as you claim, you still knew what was going on and you were WRONG and mean-spirited to be part of it. Any one of us could have been Lisa's (and your) target. How could we ever trust you again? All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. ...Edmund Burke

I ordered the free samples and the chocolate is actually pretty good, and that's a huge endorsement, coming from a person who has hated every single Protein Drink she has tried. They have a special going on now - two 2.2 lb containers for $80.00. That comes out to $18.00 per pound and that's pretty pricey, if you ask me, but maybe it lasts a long time? PS...I mixed it with 4 oz of Water and 4 oz of skim milk

I'm pretty much at goal. I want a total body lift for Christmas. If we pull everything up enough, my belly button could become a dimple in my chin!

The only one I go to is the one in Arlington - third Thursday of each month (6:30 PM) at Mercado Juarez. There IS a private room involved, but no password. Just tell them you're with the Lap Band group - or the fat people. Either way, they will point you in the right direction. Attendance varies, but I'd say on the average, there are usually about 15-20 people there.

Come meet me, my DH, and other Bandsters from the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Mercado Juarez in Arlington - 6:30 PM. If you need directions, just PM me. This is a FUN group and the food is great. So are the Margaritas.

LOL....no, only one husband at a time and I have lived in Texas all my life. But I am totally addicted to the new HBO series, Big Love.

Did you two not get enough of this stuff in junior high? For what it's worth, I think any Moderator who would participate in such a thing should lose his/her Mod status - period. That is just an unforgivable abuse of position and priviledge.

I'm always late... 1. Danced with LOTS of cowboys, and at Gilley's, too (but I live in Texas, so that may not count). 2. Former member of Mensa (stopped paying my dues years ago). 3. Have been published - for money. (Not often, not lately, and not a lot of money, but still...). 4. Phyllis George is cousin (Miss America 1971 and former first lady of Kentucky.) 5. Distantly related to George Clooney (and his aunt Rosemary). Never met him, though. 6. Have seen lots of live births...foals, calves, puppies, kittens - and nearly all my grandchildren. 7. I have had 3 husbands, 5 weddings, and I've never been divorced. (It's gonna take you guys all day to figure that one out!)

Not necessarily true. Sometimes (today, for one) I get something so stuck, or my band just tightens up, and nothing wants to stay down, so I end up spitting up, off and on, all day long. In your situation, where you can't just up and leave three times in a half hour, I suggest you be very careful about what you eat during the work day, and how much you eat. Over-eating will make me PB every time.

Can I have all the shoes that get thrown out? Do you know why fat women buy so many shoes? Because we can gain 50 pounds and still wear the same size.

A skiny woman followed me into the ladies room yesterday.....
Carlene replied to piercedqt78's topic in The Gals' Room
I understand completely. Every time I take my jeans out of the dryer, I almost wonder whose they are. I remember that I wore them just yesterday, but I hold them up and look at them, and think "how did I get my butt in THESE"? -

I drink out of a straw (even my Starbucks coffee). My doctor never mentioned straws, one way or the other. I think the theory is that you may swallow more air with a straw, but when you think about the physics involved, that makes no sense. Unless you are trying to suck out the last drop from the bottom of the glass, you can't ingest more air than the straw holds becasue it is displaced by the liquid. Now....I'll have a grande, non-fat latte, please.

I was semi-closeted at first...now I'm completely outed. It just got to be too much drama...trying to remember who knew and who didn't, what story I told to which people, fear of being outed by someone else (which I was) and being made to look like an idiot. Remember that if anyone besides yourself knows your secret, it isn't really a secret.

Garland Mom... Will you revise to another type of surgery? Everyone Else... Some people are just more sensitive to fills (and the pressure they place on the esophagus) than others, per my (banded) surgeon. Therefore, a tiny fill can be "too tight" in that respect, but still not provide restriction. It's okay to rely on meds to control the reflux, as long as you have had everything checked and your stoma is a reasonable diameter. That's what determines a too-tight band - the size of the stoma. Your stoma should be about the size of a number two pencil.
