  2. How soon after surgery will I be able to take my maintenance meds? I take synthroid, pain med, and muscle relaxers. I have RA so I have to be able to take them when it is really bad
  3. Ok ladies and gents. I am a big woman married to a lean, muscular stud muffin. I love him dearly but HATE his eating habits. He is one of those people that sits in the chair and never stops eating ( I am not exaggerating) he eats junk for hours. This already gets on my nerves because I know I cannot do that or I will gain 10 pounds a day. Is this going to be a bigger problem post op? I mean am I going to be bitter if he sits there scarfing chips and ice cream? Will this trigger me to want that junk? I'm thinking of making myself a sitting area in our bedroom just so I can avoid him in the evenings.
  4. I think we all want to know the secret diet
  5. I'm on my journey to surgery. I am waiting until the summer. Right now I am about to start all of the tests Ect. I want to start buying things to prepare for after surgery. I've seen tid bits here and there on the forum, but I would like one good list. Thanks in advance all of you beautiful people
  6. So I am going to my consultation March 27th. I am a school nurse so I am off all of June and July. Should I use my extended short term or just wait so I can heal without work stress? I want to do it so bad asap but I want to know how long the healing process is mentally and physically.
  7. I am so torn too. Not torn about should I do it or not but should I have tried harder before. If that makes any sense. I feel like I am saying to myself I can't do it alone....I know there is nothing wrong with that. I just have guilt. I am hoping this will fade away. I have my consultation on March 27th. I was really hoping it would be sooner since I am already a patient. These next few weeks are going to kill me!
  8. I hope I am repulsed by it!! That would be wonderful. I get the diet cokes are so bad for you lecture atleast weekly.
  9. Obviously there was nothing about diet in my diet coke drinking. I did lose weight when I switched from the real thing but it piled back on. My appointment is March 27th. I am hoping to kick the habit in the next couple weeks.
  10. Awesome! I'm going to give it my all. So tired of being the fat girl drinking diet coke!
  11. I'm not going to let it stop me. I'm just worried about the withdrawal. I think I will miss the diet coke more than I will the food. The thought induces real anxiety. I'm glad I am not alone. I'm going to buy a big insulated cup today and some flavoring for water. I do enjoy sweet tea. I am southern so it is always available. Ahhh! The emotions I am going through are all over the place!
  12. Hi, I am meeting my surgeon this week. I'm ready for this but I am so anxious about not being able to drink diet coke. Isn't that crazy? I drink it all day everyday. I know it is terrible for me yet I still do it. Just as I keep making bad food choices. I'm scared that I will go through some sort of withdraw from it. If anyone else has this problem and overcame it please share with me!
  13. Hi Nurses!! I am 31 years young and from Louisiana. I am a school nurse. I have been a nurse for seven years. I put on all the weight when I took the school nurse job. Lots of time sitting at a desk doing paper work. So I have finally made the decision to get a sleeve. I have an appointment this week. Nervous and excited!
  14. Will someone tell me what has to be sent in with BCBS TX? I would love to see what that have sent you guys too.
  15. Here are my top three: 1. Fit a regular towel around me 2. Bring my kids to an amusement park 3. Beach vacation without a cover up
  16. You guys are right. Im going to do it on the original date I was going to request. I'm so tired of always putting people before my own needs. I won't be able to take care of anyone if I am not here. This is for my health and quality of life and I am going for it!
  17. I don't have my date yet. I'm seeing my surgeon in the morning. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield Texas. From what I have read they approve very quickly. I already know I qualify. The same surgeon did my gallbladder surgery and he is what put wls in my head. My husband has no idea what it feels like for me. When we met I was not heavy. My weight came on after I had my third child. He is in great shape and eats horribly. He can down a half gallon of icecream and polish off a bag of chips every night and not gain a pound. I just wish he would have been more sensitive to me. He has to do his surgery because it is workmans comp. I think I will do mine no matter what. I have the fear of him losing his job due to this injury and then we lose our insurance. That would be just my luck!
  18. The girl in your post is this girl too! That's exactly how I feel. I do not have a surgery date yet. Looking at your progress pretty much sealed the deal. I am ready for a change.
  19. Yes, I am admitting that I am being a bit selfish and mad right now. My husband who goes to the gym almost everyday as soon as I get home from work with the kids is now making me put off my surgery. I have PCOS, hypothyroid, and high BP. I need this surgery so bad. Well, he got hurt at work and has to have surgery on his shoulder. Once again, my needs are on the back burner. I'm nor saying he is a bad husband. He is great but it seems like there is always something hindering my progress. I don't get to go to the gym like he does. I don't have 2 weeks off of work every month like he does. I guess I am just being silly, Idk
  20. I can understand that. Nothing is a going to work 100%. I can't wait to get sleeved!
  21. So you can still down donuts if you want to without restriction? That's not good!
  22. What copay are you talking about?
