    Stalling so soon?!

I had surgery on March 14th. The week before surgery I lost 19lbs. The week between date of surgery and first post-op visit, I lost 9lbs. I didn't have another post-op until I was 4 weeks post surgery and in that 3 week time span I only lost 5lbs!!! Talk about frustrating. However, I have started to lose again. Although everybody said I would it didn't make me feel any better. I am now down 40lbs total. So that actually is only another 7lbs in 3 weeks but this time it wasn't so discouraging. I have a LOOOONNNNNGGGG way to go but just like everybody else says, the weight will start coming off again. 8 weeks out and my body is still adjusting. Every BODY is different. We will all lose at different paces but as a group we can all support each other. You're doing awesome!!

    Infection?

I'm curious if anybody else has experienced this. I am 6 weeks post op and I have and incision that I think MIGHT be infected. I had a stich underneath the skin that poked through about a two weeks ago. I haven't had any problems with it and when I saw my surgeon for my one month post op he said it was fine, not to pull on it and that it would dissolve from within and the part sticking out would just fall off. Yesterday I noticed some redness and tenderness around the stich but really didn't think anything of it. This morning I woke up and had a little bit of drainage. It is still red, warm and very sore. I've made an appointment with my PCP to be seen but it's not until Monday. Should I call my surgeon and ask for antibiotics or am I just being paranoid and it's just a little irritated? Thanks

Rago Shapewear = Instant Tummy Tuck!

Thank you for this post. It gives me hope and something to look forward to. I'm only 5 weeks post op but I know I will have a tummy issue and I've contemplated surgery for skin removal down the road. I'm not ruling it out but thanks to you I have options now!!! Have an awesome weekend!

    Abdominal binding after surgery

I have not heard of the abdominal binding, however I did have a lot of pain in my abdomen when I coughed or sneezed and it was difficult to get up and down and in and out of bed. My friend bought me a firm pillow to "hug" when it hurt. It really helped me a lot. Just a suggestion

    How is that possible?!

    Milestone...right!

Thanks everybody! It's been a long day. I feel better having vented and the encouraging words help too. Thankful for this site and understanding people who have been through this process.
  7. So I've hit a milestone, I guess. I was "released" to enter the last phase of the post op diet. Phase III Adaptive (Soft) Phase...yippee right?! WRONG!!! My problem or let's say frustration is that after 3 weeks I only lost 5lbs and now you want me to eat more solid food? I think not. I understand a loss is a loss is a loss. However, after losing 19lbs the week before surgery (I know was a lot of water weight) and 9lbs the week following surgery to only 5lbs in the last 3 weeks, it's hard not being disappointed. I actually cried after the nurse left the room. Thought my days of crying over my weight were behind me, I guess I was wrong. My surgeon is happy with my progress so I know I should be too. I know the slower I lose the weight the better it will be for my skin. But again 5lbs is a joke to me!!! Before you say "Wow she's depressed or blowing things out of proportion"....I'm NOT I'm just venting here. I'm sure there's got to be someone else that's been in my shoes. Ok, I'm done Thanks LOL

    NAUSEA!

Ok, so I am new to this site and this is my first post but I really need help. I am 12 days post op and still having A LOT of nausea. At the 8 day mark (this past Friday) when I had my first post op visit, my doctor released me to pureed food but I can barely drink at this point because I'm constantly nauseated. Pretty much everything I've tried liquid and pureed makes the nausea worse. I'm taking small sips and when I attempt pureed food it's only a few tablespoons. The doctor changed my nausea medication on Friday and although it helps slightly more than the first one I still feel like crap. Has anyone else experienced this? The doctor said it would get better with time but seriously how long is that going to be? I want to go back to work next week but right now that's not looking like a good idea. Thanks everybody!
