  1. Hello, May 15th is a popular date :) That's my date as well. I love the idea of it being a second birthday. I'm so ready to start this journey !

I'm sort of surprised that i'm not nervous at all... I guess it's because i've considered and researched WLS for 3 years before finally starting the process.

I'm looking forward to seeing less of me in the mirror !

  2. Thanks. Yeah, my Anastasia test & pre op are scheduled within the 30 day mark but I have everything else done - sleep study, lab work, psych eval, cardiac, pulmonary. I was surprised at the number of doctor appointments I had to have over the past two months.

Nice to meet someone else with the same surgery date. Are you required to do the 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery ? I'm learning the doctor orders vary greatly. I'm not thrilled about having to do it but I feel like it's my last hurdle to get me to surgery and i'm very excited about that !!

  3. Hello,

Just wondering if this is normal - I've done all my preop stuff and my surgeon gave me a date of May 15th but they aren't submitting to insurance until after my April 11th appointment. I have United Healthcare and I've met all their requirements but part of me is still nervous they'll delay the approval and i'll not make my date of 5/15. I guess I was just wondering if this is how it's typically done and if anyone has had experience with United regarding how fast they approve.

    Thanks

    Missy

  4. Good luck as you start your journey ! My sleeve date is May 15 th and I'm already dreading the two week liquid diet. I attended my first support group meeting last night and that was very helpful. Knowing people have been closed up with the procedure being done because of their liver size was pretty powerful. I'm hoping that will keep me motivated. My NUT suggested doing one Protein Bar a day as something to chew. Someone else suggested putting a sugar free drink over crushed ice to give you that chewing sensation.
