This is a great list! Thank you so much. I did take a before pic this morning (I started my pre-op liquid diet today for my surgery next Monday) but because I read this I have done all my measurements to add so that I can track more than just weight goals.

I wasn't happy with myself and hadn't been for a long long time. My husband gave me an ultimatum...he told me I could do one of two things and he would fully support me either way... 1. I could accept myself as I was... no more diets, no more eating plans...love myself as is. or 2. Pick something and do it...no holds barred, whatever it cost. I knew I wouldn't be happy the way I was and I knew that it was affecting our marriage and the rest of my life as well. It was time to get healthy.

I got sleeved on the 5th and it wasnt that painful the first few days. after i came home i started to feel the pain, specially the gas pains. Swallowing is a totally new experience. If i take a sip thats to big the pain i get in my chest from pain is so bad.
I cant wait for it to get better. Its not that i regret it, oh no, it just that its like learning to eat all over again. I have started to write down none scale victories. I want to exercise again, i want to play sports again, and most of all play with my kids without feeling tired

I am in NO way an expert. I was sleeved on Monday (2/25/13) but I do have a question.
If your doctor, nurse or nutritionist told you to stay on Clear liquids for 1 week post op and then to do creamy liquid drinks (no food) for week #2 and then to do creamed/mushy foods for week #3 then WHY in the world do so many 'cheat' yourselves in week 1? Or week 2?
You have had MAJOR stomach surgery why would you put yourself in danger by trying to eat food before your stitches are heeled? Before your stomach is healed? You had this lifestyle changing surgery to help you to get healthy, why try to intentionally eat and hurt yourself?
Like I said I am in NO way an expert, but I chose my doctor based on research and I intend to follow his directions and suggestions. I must be one of the lucky ones because I have had 'no hunger' so far. (6 days out) now maybe tomorrow I will be starving, who knows; but I am COMMITTED to making my surgery a success and I will follow my dr's orders.

March 4 is my date... I'm saying "goodbye" to my favorites this weekend and I start my liquid diet on Monday. I've already created a menu so I don't have to think so hard about it and can just get done what I'm making... I'm also preparing some Soups and things that I can freeze in very small containers for week 2 post-surgery after I'm off clear liquids... I figure the less I have to think the easier it will be for me and my family. I go back and forth between very excited and very nervous.
