  1. Wow!!! You look fantastic! Congrats!
  2. This too shall past. You're on your way!
  3. Hello and welcome to all of the newbies!!! There's not a question you'll have that you can't find an answer to on these forums. I'm scheduled for April 17 and CANNOT WAIT!! This site has really been a great support system for me. Most of us don't have someone going through this with us so it's nice to have someplace to go to to chat about sleeve stuff. Welcome and good luck on all of your journeys!!
  4. Oh good I'm sure that will help ease your mind. Let me know how you make out!
  5. You look fantastic! Congratulations!
  6. Yay on your date! I'm April 17th as well! I'd definitely check with the dr about the bruising. The bariatric nurse that gave the seminar I attended said that beside a leak they were equally concerned about blood clots. Good luck
  7. Thanks guys, I'm definitely going to try and only do Tylenol when I get home. If I'm in terrible pain I'll take the meds. I have taken pain meds before so I can see how one can get addicted to them. I go in Apr 17th. I'll update as to how I do.
  8. She's worried about you changing. I have a strong personality so I think someone might be intimidated to say something like that to me, although I'm sure they think it. I have no comorbidities and have about 75-80 lbs to lose. I do want to look better, feel better, walk better, exercise better. I have many reasons for doing this and they are all my own. I own them and no one can tell me that my reasons aren't good enough because they are MINE! Obviously if all my doctors have approved me I am a candidate. If she's that uncomfortable I would keep her out of the loop. After you've had this done and she see's how good you feel about yourself, she'll understand.
  9. How long did you have to be on them? I asked the doctor if I could do it without the meds but he said not likely. One of my siblings has a pain pill drug addiction and it terrifies me. I know it doesn't mean I'll end up with one of course, but I really hate the thought of them because of what our family has gone through. Thoughts?
  10. I decided if I hadn't gotten it off by 40 I was doing it. I spent the first half of my life overweight, I'm not spending the second half the same way. I turned 40 Feb 8 and had my appointment that same week. Getting the surgery April 17. Ready to start a new season of my life!
  11. Congratulations! You're on way!!!
  12. OMG looking through before and after pics on youtube and I'm giddy with excitement. I can't wait to wear a cute skirt or dress in the summer without chub rub!!! Or buy a bathing suit instead of a bathing dress!!! Good bye sarongs the size of sheets!!! Goodbye shorts that are 2 inches shorter than capris!!! No I really can't wait :D :D :D
  13. Wow! Congrats you look great!
  14. I'd go to the doctor to see what's going on soon so you can get yourself fixed up by your surgery date. I know here in NJ they are saying allergy season has started and is promised to be a bad one. Might just need some Claritin. Good luck
  15. It was the first time I was ever knocked out and I was sooo happy when I woke up, because now I'm not nervous about being out for the "big" surgery No worries at all, promise!
  16. That's great! You'll do just as well today as you would've tomorrow. Now your one day closer to getting your skinny on!
  17. Haven't experienced this personally but a woman in my support group had the same problem. They actually found an ulcer. They had to treat it and it set her back a month. She was to be sleeved on March 6, now she's scheduled for April 10. So it shouldn't keep you from getting it, it just might delay it a bit. Hope this helps
  18. Woohoo! Just got my date, at a CLEAN hospital!, for April 17. Feeling much better about all this. Although it's a week later it's surely worth the wait. So relieved!
  19. Thanks for the encouragement ladies. I'm just hoping the new date isn't too far away. My head hurts thinking about trying to reschedule my life. I had it all worked out for this date. Ugh
  20. Soooo....Being that I'm a self pay my doctor suggested I go to another hospital he was affiliated with being that they had a "package price" for VSG. I was originally scheduled at Freehold Centre State Hospital but he suggested Raritan Bay so I rescheduled for that hospital. Today was my pre-op testing and tour of the hospital (my surgery is schedule for April 11). OMG it was the filthiest hospital I have ever been in. I couldn't believe it. So I called my doctor to tell him it's a big NO WAY on that hospital and of course he's on vacation can't reschedule until Monday. So now I have no idea when my surgery will be. Even though I'm disappointed I keep thinking of this quote I saw on FB "If the train doesn't stop at your stop, it wasn't your train." I'm just not meant to have my surgery at that hospital.
  21. I told my husband I think there's crack in the candy because I CANNOT stop eating it. I usually make my kids spread out the candy over a couple of days but now I'm telling them to please finish it!
  22. That's awesome! I'm actually sick of eating lol I've been eating as if it were my last meal! Tomorrow is my day to get it together (that is as long as my kids hide there Easter candy
  23. First timer on the forum. 11 days until surgery and I cannot wait. Luckily as well as unfortunately I don't have to lose any weight before surgery. Lucky because it's one less stress, unfortunately because I'm probably going to end up diabetic after the amount of crap I've eaten over the last few days. I told my kids not to upset me today because I'd probably cry chocolate! Lol
