Protein shakes week 1?
So I'm only 2 days out, but I'm starving. When did everyone transition from clear to full liquids? I know a shake would take this feeling away. Thoughts?

Newbie needs to pick your brains..
3rd day MUCH, MUCH better and I'm so happy I did it. Yesterday (day 2) I had instant regret because of the gas and nausea. Ok now I'm done! lol I hit "post" prematurely before. Good luck with everything!

Newbie needs to pick your brains..
Welcome! I had my surgery on Wednesday. Definitely get started trying different shakes, vitamins. They aren't the same and you don't want to find out you don't like something when you get home. Also, I've seen on here that doing the diet before surgery makes it much easier after. I did not. I wasn't on any restrictions until the day before when I had to do clear liquids. WALK, WALK, WALK no really WALK! I'm a walker and I felt SOOO much better when I got home today after a very slow 1 mile walk. Surgery day will be a piece of cake, 2nd day will SUCK,

Day 2, not so good, but day 3 is looking better
I just got back from a walk and feel a whole lot better (1 mile VERY SLOW). I am starving though, I had to send my family out to eat so they wouldn't eat in front of me. I'm really looking forward to full liquids, I know a shake would help me feel satisfied.

Tomorrow!
Stephen that's awesome! Sorry I'm getting back to you 3 days later but if you had your surgery yesterday I'm sure you understand why. Day after surgery was horrible however today I'm feeling pretty decent. A little advice would be to walk as much as you can. I hated walking in the hospital but as soon I got home I took a nap, had a few sips of protein and got up for a SLOW 1 mile walk. I feel so much better moving. Hope all went well for your surgery! Check in and let me know how you made out

Day 2, not so good, but day 3 is looking better
Surgery was done on Wednesday so yesterday was my first full day. No good. I had TERRIBLE gas and nausea. Was up peeing ALL night which was probably good being that it forced me out of my bed. Today was MUCH better. Nausea is gone, gas is slowly but surely starting to come out. Yesterday I said "what the f*ck did I do to myself". Had total regrets immediately. But as I said, today is so much better and I'm on my way to good health!

Tomorrow!
Holy, just looked at my surgery ticker and it's says 0 days! Not that I haven't been aware ALL day due to the clear liquid diet (STARVING!), but to see my little mermaid on the 0 mark freaked me out! lol Hoping all goes well. Started with wicked allergies yesterday. Hoping that's not a problem. Surgeries not til 12:15 EST so I guess I'll try to sleep late so I don't freak out watching my husband drink his coffee knowing that it will be a while before I can have any. Love coffee. I'll miss that more than food in the beginning. Well enough rambling. See y'all on the other side! Woot! Woot!

April 17 at Centra State Hospital, Freehold NJ anyone?
I'm getting "sleeved" on Wednesday in Freehold, NJ. Just wondering if anyone else on this forum would be there the same day...or if you've had it done at Centra State, how was your experience there?

These vitamins are GROSS!
Thanks Serendipity, I'm definitely going to try them. I just can't imagine chewing any vitamins after surgery yuck!
-
These vitamins are GROSS!
Thanks folks! Definitely returning the opurity vitamins. And will start trying out some of your suggestions. Thanks again!

These vitamins are GROSS!
I started taking the chewable vitamins (Opurity orange/berry) and can hardly chew and swallow them now (they're nasty ) I can't imagine getting them down after the surgery (next wednesday ). Oh and they're huge! I've tried liquid Alive ...no chance! That was REALLY gross. Any suggestions? I really need to order something else soon for next week. Thanks

I wish I could just get it over with!
I felt the same way until I started my testing. There are a lot of them so you're pretty busy from week to week with just them and you'll start to get sick of thinking about it for a while. And don't worry about the endoscopy AT ALL, it's really a piece of cake...promise! Good luck with your journey!

Frustrated with Self Pay and coordinating preop in US
I'm getting done next Wednesday and provided all goes without a hitch it, my final cost will be...wait for it...$26,830! Ya I know it's ridiculous. Thankfully I have a line of credit on my house with low interest rate I'm using. I didn't feel comfortable with Mexico for many reasons but I can see from just this forum alone many people are happy. It's a lot of money but I'm worth it!!!! (I keep telling my husband that lol) Good luck to you wherever you go!

Sickle Cell anyone?
So sorry to here! I know sickle cell affects african-americans. There is a forum just for african-americans (search it on this site), I'm sure you'll find someone on it with some helpful knowledge of it. Again sorry to here and good luck.

I need your wise words
I'm getting surgery next Wednesday and have to say I have no worries. I don't think I'm naive about this, I've just done a lot of work pre-surgery to get my mind straight before having the surgery done. I've gone to the support groups and have gone to therapy specifically for my post relationship to food. It's helped tremendously.

Anybody regretted it, even with no complications?
Haven't had surgery yet (4/17) but I did start therapy about 2 month ago. All of the things you listed are connected to emotions and I wanted to make sure I was strong enough emotionally to handle this. I can say that I now am. Remember, you'll be able to eat all the things you used to eat eventually but a MUCH smaller amount. It's a big decision. Good luck

Hiii everybody.. *New here*

sleeve wed and I woke up sick!
Allergy season just started. I've been taking Claritin every day to make sure my allergies don't turn into anything worse i.e. sinus infection. You can take plain Claritin. Not Claritin D. Feel better

Right upper arm pain (put on side during surgery?)
When I had my appointment with the bariatric nurse at the hospital I'm going to, she said yes you might have pain in your right arm, shoulder, side because they lay you're right arm out (almost hanging) for the blood pressure cuff. Hope this helps. Feel better
