  1. Hi Minnie - You're not alone!!!! I had lost 21 lbs by my 9th day out and my scale didn't budge for over a week. I am finally moving again after about 9 days of no loss. I think our bodies just need to catch up to the changes. Keep following your diet and walking everyday, it WILL pay off. Also, look at those Non-Scale-Victories (NSV) like how your clothes look, fit and feel. Congrats and don't lose hope. Try to keep things in perspective and don't let that evil little scale derail you. YOU GOT THIS!!!!
  2. I was sleeved on 2/12 and am down 26 lbs since surgery and a total of 50 since 1/1/13! I'm only 1 lb away from leaving THREE-ville FOREVER!!! I'm in puréed foods and am getting a little bored. I've searched for recipe ideas but so far, nothing that jumps out at me. Does anyone have any wins they can share with me? I'm getting in my Protein and fluids and walking daily. I hope to start Zumba in the next few weeks! Best of luck to all and continued success!!! Please share any puréed recipes that you love :-)

Pre-Op Diet and Juicing with a Juicer

Hi, I juiced during my pre-op and post-op diet. I spoke with my surgeon before doing so and he was fine with it. Post-op, I strained my juice after juicing... I was very surprised how much pulp and what not made it through my juicer. I make the same juice and drink it over a day or two: 6-8 large kale leaves 2 cups spinach 3 zucchinis 4 large carrots 4 gala apples Pinch or two of cilantro (Optional - 1/4 thick slice of ginger root) Great stuff, very green but yummy!!! I love it because its packed with micro-nutrients :-) Best of luck to you!!!

How many calories are you burning on average?

Sounds like you are tackling it! Keep up the great work!!!
  9. Vanilla is my fav but I also enjoy the chocolate. I get mine at Sam's for $18 a box. I add extracts to mine to mix it up! I add coconut to the chocolate - YUMMY!!! And banana to the vanilla - just delish!!! My Mom enjoys adding orange or cherry to vanilla as well. Tomorrow I'm adding mint to my chocolate, sounds dreamy :-)

    1 day post op

I completely agree the gas and bloating was the worse!!! I too was very nauseous and unfortunately I did vomit several times - not fun! Stay in front of it and take your nausea medicine regularly until you no longer need it. I'd suggest getting up and moving as much as possible to help move the gas out. I have to be honest, I was never more excited to pass gas than a few days post-op! Also, be sure to burp when it comes up. Its amazing how accustomed us women are to holding in gas - it can be hard to stop forcing yourself to keep in and let it. Once I passed it all it was a huge relief to my pain level. I truly believe that moving has helped move all the gas out. I am officially 9 days out and am walking nearly 2 miles a day. My recovery is going very well and I'm sure it's because I'm moving so much. Best of luck and speedy recovery to you!! P.S. buyers remorse is very natural. Just keep reminding yourself why you did it and push forward. You are in control of your destiny and this very well may be one of the best things you have done for yourself!!!

    psych test

For some reason I was soooo anxious about my psych eval, seriously - you would I have thought I was having surgery that day. I'd suggest you just be as honest as possible and go with the flow. The eval is to truly see if you are mentally ready for the changes your about to make after surgery. Sending loads of good vibes and luck your way!
  15. I was sleeved on 2/12 and began my chewable multi-vitamin and nightly Iron pill on 2/15. I was told to wait 3 weeks to begin my calcium citrate. Best of luck and a speedy recovery to you!
