I am just a few days over a year out and my sleeve has it's finicky days. I agree with PDX above, you can't tell true restriction on Soups or sliders, you have to test it with Protein.

Some days I can eat 2-3 ounces in a sitting, some days, only 1-2. I never know until my nose starts up the faucet routine and I feel as if a burp is stuck. I have learned that if I don't eat ssssslllllllloooooooowwwwww, I will find myself too full the hard way and that's not fun.

I experience this, too. I think the days that I'm SUPER kosher-sleeve-y (no liquid before or after eating, dense Protein first, etc., etc., then the dense Protein makes kind of a "plug" and restriction is high/good). When I'm in more of a hurry and eat more absent-mindedly, I think those are the days I don't feel restriction because I haven't been as observant of "the rules."
I will be interested to see what others post -- thanks for asking this question!

Oh I put waist size by mistake, ideal dress size is 8-10 which now I'm in a 10 and at my surgeons goal but I want to lose 10 more. I started at size 22.

I love this! I am a recovering alcoholic and this tool has helped me along in my sobriety. The act of making the list makes you realize simple things you didn't even realize you had to be grateful for. It always got me off the pity pot. I never thought of making one after surgery. Awesome tool!
I would say today I am grateful for...
    No more foot pain
Feet have gone down in size
Being able to be active with my two year old and twelve year old
Fitting on Disneyland rides with my kids
    Overall health
Not obsessing about food all the time
Saving money because it costs less to eat the way I do
I could go on...these are just my surgery related gratitudes also grateful for so much more.

If I see a pic of myself it takes me off guard and surprises me. If I suddenly glance in the mirror or a window I think wow is that me? I look skinny! But if I stand in front of a mirror and look at myself I will still feel fat. I'm 10 months out, 120 pounds down and at my surgeons goal but still have the fat brain. Hopefully that'll change in time.

Healthier2day1227 reacted to PdxMan in Question...?
We all do not measure success in the same way. One person may only want to lose enough weight to get off of some medications or be eligible for knee surgery. We don't know what everyone's story is nor should we want to. The only thing we need to worry about is keeping our side of the street clean. Do not measure other people's journey's by your own measure of success. I can guarantee you the folks on here will never be able to meet your expectations. Remember, expectations are merely future resentments. Do yourself a favor and don't take other people's inventory. But don't let that keep you from sharing your experiences. When you share your experience, strength and hope, the one you are helping is yourself.
Keep it real, folks. Remember where we all came from, lest we be damned to repeat it.

I'm going through something similar. The closer you get to goal, the slower the scale moves. I am 15 pounds from goal and I will go two-three weeks without any loss then lose 1 or 2 pounds. What helped me was only weighing once a week so I don't get discouraged. I don't think you are done just keep exercising and track your calories. Most of all be patient!

Healthier2day1227 got a reaction from ElyQuint in the easy way out
I love that. Does it really matter if I took the easy way out or are the results what matter? I get really hung up on this question too. I had a thin friend tell me she was jealous I had surgery because now I don't ever have to worry about overheating. Boy! She doesn't live in my head, that's for sure! But it made me feel as if she might judge this as an easy out. But I honestly don't care. If it's the easy way out oh well it's still a way out (and I don't believe it's been easy).

I really don't know how to handle my best friend, after she told me last week that she was jealous of my weight loss and my surgery. She and I have been friends for ten years, I have been obese the whole time up until recently. I've lost 115 pounds since Jan of 2013. My surgery was last June. All that being said, my best friend was one of the only people I've confided in. This whole time I've thought she's been supportive but come to find out it's just been a competition for her. She has always been mostly thin but would like to lose 10 pounds. She will compliment me and follow up the compliment with wow what size are those jeans they look amazing! Or you've gotta be in the 170s by now etc. making me think she was a safe person to discuss weight loss with. Last month I noticed some catty remarks like wow you are thinner than me now. I'm happy for you though. Or we went shopping and I tried on some capris and she said those will look good in about 15 more pounds when you lose the muffin top. So last week she called me in tears and said she's jealous of my loss and she feels it's a competition and that she is so jealous I've had surgery. My response was don't be jealous that I was so overweight that I required surgery to help correct it. I then said I hope I didn't do anything to cause you to feel this way. She assured me the problem lies in her, not me. But I sort of wish she had confided these emotions to another friend of hers, because I just don't know what I'm supposed to do with this information. For one, I have not discussed anything even remotely related to weight loss since we've had that conversation. I certainly don't want to rub her face in it and I don't feel like she's celebrating my health just comparing and despairing. I just feel really bad about the whole situation. Has anyone else experienced anything similar and what did you do?
