Stall Stall Stall
Weight fluctuations and stalls are normal, don't be discouraged. Your protein intake should be at a minimum 70-80 grams. Try increasing your protein intake and make sure you are drinking plenty of water....before you know it those pounds will be dropping off again!

Wanting to cry
I recall being a bit teary eyed as well, your body is going thru a huge change.....it will get better and before long you will be jumping up and down with excitement about your weight loss! That was pretty insensitive of your sister in law....I would be having a little chat with her! You are doing great! Keep up the good work!

Bye, Bye! 100 pounds gone for good!
Sure Michelle, I don't mind sharing at all! I believe that one of the biggest factors that has made me successful is tracking my food, fluid, and exercise. By doing this I find that if I fall off track I am able to hold myself more accountable for my actions. I exercise a fair amount, generally do at least an hour of cardio 3-4 times a week in addition to an hour to an hour and a half of hot yoga 2-3 times a week. The yoga has really helped me trim and tone not to mention it is a huge stress reducer for me. As far as what I am eating well.... for the most part I try to be good, but everyone has their slip ups right? I avoid pastas, breads, rice, and any other high carb content foods. My carbohydrate intake is generally about 40 grams/day and I try to eat at least 70 grams of protein in a day. I am a stickler for my fluid intake and I consume generally a minimum of 2 liters of water in a day. I avoid eating foods with high sugar content and for the most part stick to sugar free, if that is not an option I will not eat more than 5 grams of sugar in a meal. My average calorie intake is roughly 900-1000 calories a day. I am almost to my revised goal of 140 pounds, I know that to keep up my amount of physical exercise and to maintain 140# I will eventually have to increase my caloric intake which seems right now like it will be a difficult task. I stick to my vitamin regimen as well. I think my greatest challenge is getting past that little voice in my head telling me that I want junk food and that makes me want to eat even when I am not hungry. Also I have a 2 year old and an 8 month old + I work full time so fitting in all of my exercise is a challenge, but I have learned that if I don't I feel awful. Treating yourself is helpful too, get your hair and nails done.....makes me feel like a million bucks every time and it makes me want to try even harder to do the best I can. Good luck!

Bye, Bye! 100 pounds gone for good!
Today marked my 6 month anniversary, I am proud to say that I am 100 pounds lighter than when I started this journey! I feel amazing and I am looking forward to the challenge of getting those last 15 pounds off. This surgery gave me a new start in life and I am loving it! I have gone from a size 22 to a solid size 8 and sometimes a size 6, size 2XL scrubs to a size Medium. I love my sleeve! Thanks for all of the support everyone!

Sleeved June 3 and have some concerns
Gas pain is very normal, the best thing that you can do for yourself is getting up and moving. The more you are able to walk around the house the better your pain will get. As far as the fluid intake, just keep sipping. I found that if I had a small water bottle that I could refill and keep track of how many bottles I had it kept me focused on getting the fluid in. Trust me you don't want to end up back in the hospital for dehydration. You can do this, stay focused.

I need to refocus!
Wow, I really need to re-focus. Over the last 3 days I have eaten so much of the stuff that I swore off over 2 months ago. Saturday was my birthday, I turned 37. My wonderful sweet husband took me out for a date day without the kids. The day started out great, I went for a 5 mile walk and then went and had a 90 minute massage. We decided to venture to the city and we were having a great time meandering the streets. My husband decided that he was going to have some ice cream and this is where I fell off the wagon big time. I figured heck its my birthday, one little scoop of ice cream will be ok. I got a scoop of mint choc chip in a cup. About 45 minutes after eating it I started to feel nauseated and then my stomach started to cramp, yup I am thinking that I experienced my first episode of dumping. After relieving myself in the rest room I felt much better. We later went to dinner at a mexican restraunt. I had a chicken enchilada, I pulled the chicken out of the tortia. I felt that I did ok with dinner with the exception of some chips and salsa oh and lets not forget about 1/2 of a strawberry daquri. Later I spent half of the night in the rest room with horrible diarrhea. Humm so did I learn my lesson? Apparently not, because I had a few bites of candy on Easter and I ate cookies today.....not just two cookies but 4! Oh my goodness, it is like I just snapped....I have been so disciplined which has shown in my weight loss (55 pounds in 8 weeks). What in the heck am I doing? Today I just could not control my self, it was like "I have to have sugar or I'm going to die" kind of feeling. I have been doing so good without sugar for 8 weeks, I think that one scoop of ice cream started it all. I am going to try my hardest to get back into my routine tomorrow. I have to control these urges. I also haven't been getting in all of my water like I usually do, and I am certain that I have been no way near my normal amount of protein intake. I am reminding myself of a quote from Susan Maria Leach's Before and After book "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels". I am going to say it over and over again and hopefully it will sink in. At least even though I've been out of control with my eating over the last few days I am still doing my 5 mile walk 4 days a week (I work 12 hour shifts the other 3). Re-focus.....Re-focus! Thanks for listening!

5 weeks 1 day post op and 41 pounds gone!
I'm so excited, I just need to share with someone other than my poor husband that has to hear it all the time. Today I am 5 weeks and 1 day post op and when I got on the scale today it showed that I am down 41 pounds! My clothes are starting to get really baggy, but I am not ready to go clothes shopping yet. I feel energized by seeing that scale move down, it is showing that my hard work and dedication are paying off. I still have a long way to go, but I am on my way! Thanks for listening to me gloat!

Need help from men that have been sleeved
jason317, I am not a man, but I am a nurse. Few questions: Are you having any pain when you urinate? Are you noticing any foul odor or blood when you urinate? Do you have any history of prostate problems? If no to all of those questions I would say that you are most likely fine, keep drinking your fluid as you have been, if the problem continues call your doctor to have a urinalysis done. I was sleeved just over 4 weeks ago and have noticed that even though I drink atleast 2 liters a day that I do not urinate nearly as much as I used to, nor is the "stream" as flowing as it used to be. You are only 4 days out and there will be many fluid shifts in your body over the next week or so. I am assuming that things will improve, but like I said if not contact your doctor. Good luck! And Congratulations on a new begining!
