  1. That is awesome. I'm in Orlando and it has been horrifically hot. I was out in it just watching baseball games and my ankles swelled and I thought I was going to die. To me that's what this is about. Not just losing weight' date=' but changing your life. You are out there living and I think it's great. It's really inspiring.[/quote']

I am in Orlando area too! Humid and rainy for last couple weeks is about to kill me while I am recouping.

  2. Do nurses get special gowns that actually cover your ass or did you have to have yours hanging out like the rest of us minions? :o

I changed into my yoga shorts and night shirt within 4 hours of surgery. Said to the nurse "you dont mind do you since I am going to be up walking" as I walked oit my door for my second lap around the floor. ((Grin))

  3. Day 14!!!! Doing pretty good. Gas pains are gone and belching after I eat is my sign to stop eating immediately. I am getting my fluids in pretty well but I am so over the Protein shakes!!! But I know I have to get them in so I keep trying. Yesterday I had my first real vomiting episode, out of the blue I got nauseas and hurled. After that I was fine and nothing was different so not really sure what I did wrong that my belly didnt like. I hope everyone is doing well, good job!

  4. Here is a little personal experience, take what is of use to you. My husband lost a lot of weight several years ago, 310lbs to 155lbs and everyone but him thought he went about 15 lbs to far because of how sickly he looked. He is 6'1" and went down to 155. He was a size 52 waist down to a 32. Over the years he has settled at around 170lbs and a size 34 waist, That is where he says he is most comfortable and where he looks the best. To me what made it look like he needed to gain weight was the fact that he lost too much upper body muscle, he just is not a muscular guy to begin with and the shock of him losing all the weight really highlighted the lack of upper body muscle. He couldnt really put on muscle cause he doesnt like to lift weights. I think he looks great now and I think you look great too but only you know how you feel.

  5. I didn't tell my mom a word until everything was done and I had a surgery date!!

So she couldn't say much. As a matter of fact she felt so out of the loop she begged to at least be able to come down and drive me to the hospital.

    :)

I did the same thing. Oh btw mom I am doing XXXX next Wednesday, just thought I would let you know.

  6. Settie, I am now on postop day11. I am just starting to get some energy back. The first week I slept for 6 hours and was awake for 6 hours, rinse and repeat. Now this week I am slowly increasing the amount of time I am awake.

I must tell u that I did have a set back at the 7 day mark. Shhhhh, dont tell anyone...I drove myself to my postop visit. 45 minute drive one way in my stick shift Mini Cooper. Yeah that didnt end well, I was in so much discomfort by the time I got home I was in tears. I havent left the house since.

So yesterday I was up about 12 hours and I slept about 10 hours. Give yourself a break and a chance to recoup.
